Garmin is an unorganized outfit. I will never us anything Garmin in the future.

The worst customer service I have ever seen.
Bought the inReach Explorer and subscribed to the plan. Then when I tried to use some features didn't work. I tried calling them for so long and so many times before finally reaching someone who was both very rude and very useless. He left me with the issue unsolved in the end so I will just have to cancel my subscription

My second gaming product has had a battery failure. I have been offered an exchange for £96+ but the shipping instructions did not include a scannable label, only a return number. Three contacts through the chat service (no one answered the phone) and I still have no label that my local parcel service will accept. On the last chat I was told the problem was with UPS not Garmin.
There is no way I can find to progress my complaint. I am still waiting to be able to post my device to them. They have taken the money, but so far not delivered an impressive service.
My comment is these devices seem to be built to last until the warranty runs out.

I purchased a used echomap. I wanted the unit in my name. I was told to reset the unit. That was fine I was also told to format the SD cards. We'll the maps that were purchased for $300 were on the SD cards. Now the maps are gone and Garmin will not replace them. Be careful with following instructions from customer support. Being someone that is not that great with technology I did what I was told by support cost me my map chip. I thought once I reset the unit the maps would again be transfered from the SD card to the unit. At no time was I told I would lose all my maps. I would never buy a Garmin product again

Trying to obtain a RMA number to return my echomap 50s for repair. Difficult...WOW! So far it's been impossible. Lousy web site indicates RMA# is a requirement but doesn't indicate how one might be obtained. Chat is down. Email site found to be unworkable. Now on phone hold. Really bad service.

I purchased a new Edge and it failed to turn on, stright out of the box. As it was bought in a lost post auction I was not entitled to the same rights and protections as those bought in ^legitimate^ retail shops. They offered a cheap proce on a new one but Im sorry they were not the least bit apolohetic and all I got on the phone was a low level call answering girl who was nice but had no say in the matter. How a faulty device ends up in the box? No QA obciously...Giant coporation, crappy product, total indifference to customer experience...

Garmin/Honda navigation map update not working. Garmin phone support unresponsive (promised 3 - 5 minute callback nothing after 1 hour)

I tried to get support on Garmin GPS in my 2020 Honda CR-V. There is no phone # or chat option. They answered e-mails quickly enough but when I responded to their message there was no answer at all. Every single person (I tried 5) did not believe that I had the settings right and tried to convince me that I can't read and/or understand the manual.
After 5th or 6th try I gave up.

My husband brought me a new garmin edge for christmas in 2020. Within a year it would not upload or connect to garmin connect. I was told at the time it was a common problem and could not be fixed. They replaced it with a refurbished unit - note not 'like for like'not a new unit. 1 yr on and the power connector within the refurbished unit snaps off - note i've not had any crashes or falls. I spent 6 hrs on hold to garmin then got hung up on. The following day they answered after 4 hrs on hold I asked them to repair it - they said they could not but could replace it and asked me to send in pictures and a description of the problem. It took 4 weeks to receive a response back - which was an automated offer offering a refurbished edge for $198. I declined this as the legal advice I had was that they needed to replace the unit for free as they did not provide me with 'like for like' by replacing my unit with a refurbished unit and the refurbished unit failed within a year also. 3 weeks later they refused this and said they had to send it to management. 3 weeks later i'm still waiting on a response. Meanwhile training for worlds has been seriously interrupted as I have no access to speed or power readings. Looks like i'm switching all my teams' products to Wahoo and letting everyone know!!

So I got given a Vivomove HR as a gift nearly 23 months ago and the display has now disappeared
I contact customer services to ask them what the repair process is:

Takes a week to reply
They do come with a two year warranty- can you provide proof of purchase?
You can replace for a reconditioned one at a cost of £79

Quality of product is sh1t! Read loads of reviews to say the model is prone to this around two year point. Who keeps a receipt of proof of purchase for two years. Why the f would I want to pay £80 for another used watch. I can buy new for around 90/95. Quality is obviously rubbish so why would I want another and why would I want to pay for another, your quality issue not mine! You should be offering to replace anyway or at least repair.

Absolute joke. Avoid Garmin and avoid the Vivomove HR. Plenty of better products on the market

I bought a Garmin Instinct Solar watch due to previous positive experience with a handheld GPS unit. What a mistake. The watch would not hold a charge after about eight months so I contacted customer service. After none of the fixes the tech suggested worked, I was told that they would replace the watch for a fee of $130. It is now in the trash and I will not make the same mistake twice.

I have a new 1222 plus livescope combo that worked a total of 1-1/2 days(on vacation).
After working with customer service for 3 days I was informed that the parts to fix the problem would not be available for 2 months after I was told that I could get them in 4 days by the 1st day technician. I would rate them a negative 10 if possible. I feel like this will continue, so I will get rid of this crap and move on.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
Garmin doesnt care about any support in Czech Republic. Support call line +420 253 253 381 is in the working time (9-17) unable to reach. Out of 100 tries ive succeeded ONLY ONCE! Yes try it by yourself - literally!!! Response time on emails are 2-3 days. All others numbers are also hardly reachable like +420 253 253 383 or +420 253 253 380 but these are on different departments so these guys werent able to help me anyway... I broke the lens on my watches which i wanted to replace ASAP which i started to deal with on Monday. I got payment details for the replacement via email yet on Friday. I payed immediately. On Monday next weak I realized that the money returned back to my account. The problem was that some of your braniacs didnt add this issue to the system so the payment cannot be connected with my replacement order - I got info about replacement and order invoice on Monday. So I tried to pay it once again and gues what? The link was inactive. The support blamed my bank etc (not insufficient fund and other bulls...) but that was surely not the problem. In this Czech Garmin department doesnt right hand know what the left one does (as we say in my country). I really feel like some third world country, this "socialistic" lazy and crumpled support makes a really bad reputation to otherwise great brand more to that if I consider that I tried to reach the UK support and after two beeps I spoke to a person - which couldnt help me as well (different country). Now I am waiting to receive new replaced watches. The guy on email wrote me that its not a problem to send them the form of cash on delivery. Still they dont response when will they sent the item. I hope I will get them soon...

Throw these people out and replace them with working stuff. How annoying experience.

Namely:
Mr. Michal Škvor
Mr. Ondřej Tongel

The only guy which I can give credit to: Mr. Václav Schröder (but still no info about delivery)

WARNING TO ALL!!!! If anyone is using the Garmin dezi 770, beware of the newest software update. My Garmin which i have had 4 years worked fairly well, had some bogus address in there for truck stops and rest areas that were legit, however the unit begin rebooting one day during driving, this told me it must need a new update, so this Jan during a 10 hr break i hooked up my garmin to my lap top and started the Garmin express update, after 60 min it finished with errors? Disconnected and put it back in its base holder, booted it up and was surprised my platform intro was all different, had to learn the new lay out but still had all my saved addresses to customers backed up; here is where things got weird, I was at a Loves in Rochelle Illinois, had 8 hrs to get my load to Grove-port Ohio, had a half a tank of fuel, didn't want to start my clock and end up behind a group of truckers camping out at the fuel islands as most will do and run my clock cutting my delivery time short, So I figured I would run midway and hit up a truck stop along my active route before reaching empty , do my 30 and continue on, Hit the NEW ICON of Truck stops now added to the New Platform from the update and chose Truck-stops along my destination route, it pulled up a Travel Centers of America in Westchester Illinois, with a warning pop up after of weight restrictions, I figured OK, I'm going to come close to being in a weight restricted area that don't allow certain weights which parts of Illinois is like that, can be frustrating, chucking on down towards this TA location I notice my fuel gauge is getting low and I am told to turn right on Enterprise Dr, off Cemark Rd (22), and I stopped seeing this was no entrance to a truck-stop, this in fact was NOT A TA! My thought was if I am in a surrounding area of weight restrictions, the plan was; I would pull in the TA get fuel then pull out and back track the way I came and get back on the freeway but not even possible, so I continue to drive down looking for a larger street, road Blvd to turn off onto and locate a way back to the freeway away from these warnings popping up on the Garmin, didn't notice the DETOUR sign of a elevated bridge - drove over that focused on finding how to get off that road and find a way to fuel before I ran out, next thing I see is red and blue lights behind me, I was pulled over on a city street and then weighed by the officer which he said I drove over a bridge that was meant for 23 thousand weight or less, I was at 27, but when he weighed me it came up 58 gross- go figure, he called it a bond fine to me its a citation either way, I showed him the TA address Garmin pulled up off my history of recent travels, he said that no TA is there, and I agreed but how was I to know. Garmin apparently is adding these old addresses or bogus ones which can get truckers in a hell of a bind. Well the cost of all ran 4000.00! highest one I ever encountered and i only had but one which was 300.00 3 years back. CAT Scale tickets don't work for city weight restrictions i found out in Illinois, So Garmin I hold accountable for this mislead and even though my company paid for it cause city cops wont release you till its paid in full. NO LIE, I am paying my company back cause in essence it is my fine though i have the money it wasn't available at the time and in reality this was not my fault as I did try to get out and away before things got worse. So Just a warning to you all, if you update your Garmin be sure its accurate or you may end up on the bad side like i did. Oh and I have screen shots of the history address showing proof what Garmin pulled up as a TA which really is a Office Building Business Park. ( This is a rewrite from the first one due to mistakes from fast typing)

1. I purchased Garmin Vivoactive 4S on 28 Aug 2020.
2. I filed an official incident report to Garmin customer service.
3. The Garmin customer service did respond to my incident but did not attempt to understand the issue which I had clearly explained many times.
4. As some issue cannot be detected during the normal QC phase, when an incident is reported by customer thru' live environment and usage, Garmin should take this opportunity to improve the quality of the product as well as replace the product with no cost.
5. The local service center in Singapore is not equipped to do a thorough diagnostic test to see what is the root cause on the first complaint that was brought out to their attention during the warranty.
6. After months of having frustration issues with the charging issue, I had no choice but to visit the local service center again.
7. Now the local service center gave a different diagnose that is different from the first visit even though the same issues (signs + symptoms) are the same.
8. It is highly regrettable that Garmin did not want to take this opportunity to improve the product quality as well as provide good recovery service to customer who has been frustrated by the charging issue since the first purchase but progressively getting worse.

TRUST THAT GARMIN COULD NOT FIX PAIRING ISSUES. I've been communicating with Garmin for more than a month. They did literally a lot to pair my Forerunner 945 to Iphone 12. Until now, they could not solve the basic pairing issue. What is so disappointing is that I first tried a 20USD sports watch to get to feel if I really need a 700USD sports watch. The 20USD watch worked well with pairing and some of the basic features that is helpful; thus, I felt the need to upgrade to FR945. I'm close to begging for Garmin to finally fix pairing issues. If only I could refund, with all the tedious communication difficulties and an unsolved basic issue, I'll never look back at Garmin again!

I recently downloaded the maps update for 50 dollars. I drove thru two states yesterday and the device did not have the updated highway exit numbers (Massachusetts) and in Connecticut it was indicating I should exit where exits no longer exist! Garmin support service was not helpful in the least. Basically it was sorry not sorry and we don't do refunds. Obviously the device is worthless with outdated information.

I ordered and paid for a map package for Europe at Garmin. For three weeks now I have not been able to download it, because Garmin does not activate the download conditions for me in the Garmin Express program. There are absolutely incompetent employees in the support service. They can only refer to the instruction point. I have already sent them several photos of my computer screen with the indicated problem, but there is only one answer - follow the instructions on the site ....)))))) There seem to be either monkeys with a minimum wage or half-trained robots.

If warranty is important to you, stay away from Garmin!

Begging, please! Not Garmin Europe customer service! If you seek assistance for warranty, you'll receive a generic response that is already stated in their website (e.g., information of service centers and toll-free numbers). When you go to specifics (e.g., no response from all options), you will no longer receive a reply from them. Warranty is the main reason why I ensured to buy my FR945 directly from a local Garmin store but you can't expect the usual assistance from Garmin. If warranty is important to you, please stay away from Gamin.

Hi,

3 months ago I had a problem with my Garmin Fenix 5 Plus Saphire Titanium. The problems occurred in reading GPS, maps and pace. In October I reported this problems to Garmin Costumer Service.

An adviser informed me that I have to wait two months because my watch model was out of stock. After two months nobody contact with me about my case.
When I called to the Garmin I heard standard apologize. They informed me that they still haven't my watch in stock to replace my one which I sent them a while ago. I asked them to do something with it as I need my watch to my running. Even I agreed to replace for cheaper version 5 X Plus. An adviser which I spoken with said that they have in stock and will send it next day. I was asking couple of times is it will be definitely 5 X Plus model and he every time confirmed it. Unfortunately they sent me the cheapest version this watch 5 Plus and I felt cheated and upset.
Straight away I called to the Costumer Service an adviser after speaking with manager said that they will check my conversation to check that I was right and their agent cheated me.
Up today nobody contact with me about that they only exchanged me the watch for this which I agreed (5 X Plus).
After 3 weeks of using this watch I can see the problem with elevation and pace. Each time I am starting my run from the same place but watch is showing different data.
I have called today to the Garmin Costumer Service and explain whole situation and that they sent me the watch which from the beginning showing wrong data. Obviously from the beginning they ask me to follow the instructions, switch on and off etc. I have spoken with adviser called Reece and it was the same when I called last month to discuss my complaint that I was cheated by his friend. The same one who assured me that they will listen the tapes from my conversation about the watch model which I choose to exchange so I asked him did they check it. He said that because they sent me the right watch they close this case!!! For me this case wasn't finished as someone lied me and he should bear the consequences for it! I asked him to transfer me to the complaint department because I want to get some explanation and resolve that problem. Reece didn't want to do it and from tone of his voice I felt like he is angry on me.
I feel that I was scammed by his friend and he tried to do everything to sweep this under the carpet but I will not leave it like that.
From 3 months I am without the proper working watch and without resolving the problem that I was tricked by an adviser. I feel that they don't bother about my case because I'm not British Citizen and my English is not fluent but I'm not giving up because if I am spending lots of money for good and branded products I have right to be served and get what I paying for.

Now I am waiting for response from Garmin and will update you with it.
I just have to warn you to double think before buying so expensive product because soon when it won't be working properly you will have to fight with their Costumers Service and they just wanted to get rid of you not to help you.

My Vivomove 3S doesn't track stairs or activities right! Garmin customer service is giving me the runaround. The watch is only 4 months old and for the last month+ it does work!
