I have not received any money on my account. It's the 15th and I sold a couple items like a week ago and do not have any deposits in my checking account????

DO NOT purchase textbooks from this site. I was unable to retrieve my password to access the shipping label. There is no one to contact by phone. It's just an endless stream of e-mails. The password reminder feature does not work. Very frustrating.

I will never use half.com again. I sold a book on their site. About 2 months later the e-mailed me and told me they were debting my account for the cost of the book because the buyer didn't receive it. I checked with the buyer who had recieved the book and didn't file a claim. I forwarded that e-mail to half but they said unless I provided a tracking number they were debiting my account. Last week they debited my account. They do not have a phone numebr to call and talk to anyone and eventually stopped responding to my e-mails.

I have been a seller with half.com for years with a feedback rating of over 700 positive comments. Apparently this meant nothing to them when I reached out for help with a buyer. I sent the buyer a brand new, pristine book. They then claimed that I sent them a ragged, water-logged copy of the book, sending photos of a book that was clearly not the one I sent. Half.com sided with them and deducted $70 from my account. The buyer's sent me back the copy they sent pictures of and kept my brand new copy. Mind you, this book retails for $150 and they totally scammed the system, screwing me in the process. Half.com has still not replied to my complaints about how this was handled.

I am trying to list books to sell, and the continue button takes me nowhere. Thereis no other button to push, so I am frustrated! Customer Service did not reach a live person, so was no help. I hoped that Monday would bring better luck, but so far I cannot list my books. Please repair this problem!

I wish that I had looked up the reviews on this company before I ordered my Text Book. They deducted money from my account and I never received my book. Well now its time for Midterms and that really sucks!! I contacted Ebay being as their name was all over it and they said they are affiliated with them but could not help me. This was my first and Last time ordering anything online period. Half.com is awful!!!

Don't know how this entity of EBay is still in business. Send book to customer, no problem. Send book through 'sell it now' to customer, no problem. Do 'instant sale' to half.com - BIG TROUBLE. Sent book same day as quote w/their label, website saying they have not recvd it - LIE!!! It was their label, no way address is wrong, etc. Sent through post office, no way it disappeared on way to USPS. I would love an explanation from them on this one, expensive books mysteriously vanishing. First thought - they don't have the money to pay for the books they are retrieving through instant sale, they are trying to buy time so they don't have to do the 15th as a payout, Please - I am a couple of states away from KY and in 6-7 mailing days they don't have it - I'm calling foul! I urge anyone w/similar experiences to contact your Attorney General for your state, they protect consumers from bogus sites like this...

So bad, it's ludicrous. They have no phone support, and only interact via e-mail. Yet they have declined to respond to my e-mails, instead sending an automated response that apologizes for how busy they are. It's been weeks and I still haven't gotten a response. I called eBay to discuss a transaction problem on half.com, and they informed me that they "know nothing about half.com," that "there is no direct number for half.com," and the only thing they can do is have half.com call me back (so wait, isn't that phone service?). They then kindly followed up with the fact that they can't guarantee this call back. Um, okay. So half.com customer service is basically a magical unicorn.

Horrible, wait NO customer service, I sold my books to them using thier instant sale in May and still have not received payment. I send an email at least once a week and get we are still looking into this for you. You cannot speak with anyone, if you call ebay they will tell you they can't help you it is a different company. I even put a complaint with the better business bureau and they sent me back a response after 3 weeks saying they closed my request because they could not reach them.

Unfulfilled two orders in a row. Customer service took ten days to respond to an email. The email was full of typos and offered no real amends for their bad business. It ended by saying that they looked forward to more business from me!

Stay away from these hacks, and put your money somewhere more deserving! They are a complete waste of time!

I will never use half.com again. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE or TRACKING INFORMATION. I have ordered college textbooks from many vendors online for myself as well as my children. I am still waiting for one to arrive WEEKS after ordering! OF COURSE there is no way to contact anyone except by email. If you call the number on your credit card statement you still cant get a live person to get a refund. Coincidently, the most expensive book I ordered is the one not to arrive. They are crooks, and I would expect more from ebay. NEVER AGAIN

Our son was attempting to purchase books for college and wanted them to be sent to his school address, but since the ship to and credit card address did not match, it would not let him. After contacting the parent company, EBAY, and talking to someone with a foreign accent who was difficult at best to understand, he was cut off. We, too, searched for a phone number to talk with a real person on the site, but to no avail. We ended up having the books shipped to our home and now will have to re-ship them to him at school. Very poor business practice and we will not be using or recommending the company to anyone, for sure. Amazon here we come!

Although Half.com does have the potential to save you money, my current interaction with them has been an absolute HEADACHE. I ordered three separate orders. On one of them I was double-charged. I have emailed three times, called three times, and still received no definitive response even acknowledging the double-charge (it's been 5 business days). Half.com has no apparent customer service number, so you must call ebay's, and the reps there usually have no idea what they're talking about.

On my other order, I received a notification from the seller that it couldn't be shipped and was to be refunded. I called to confirm twice, and two reps told me it was going to shipped, but I was simply double-charged and that's why they were going to refund me. I told them I didn't have a double charge for it and that I never received a refund, but they said that was probably because it happened so quickly. I asked the seller who told me in a generic email that if I received such and such notification, it means you won't receive the book. I emailed back saying two reps told me otherwise. They emailed me back saying two order numbers (both of which were for other books) were in transit and to be shipped.

I called again because I had received the two books but not the other and wanted to clarify if I was to receive the one in question. She couldn't answer my question and said I had to contact the seller again. HOW FREAKING HARD IS IT TO LOOK UP SUCH A QUESTION? She also said that in regards to the double charge I had, I couldn't possibly expect a response within an hour (via email). I told her I did not expect that, but I think it's silly that it takes 2 days to respond saying that I need to email from the email associated with my account and there's nothing further we can do until then.

Looked up my online banking and found there WAS refund for the book they said was /wasn't to be shipped. So it's NOT being shipped I can only assume. Why did they tell me it was to be shipped?

Never will order from half.com again.

Right around the time I should be receiving the money from my sales their customer service put my account on vacation hold, I was never notified of ghis nor did I receive notice as to why ny account was frozen.Needless to say, I have not recieved payment eother, ad as everyone else alreadnstated , their customer dervice is below the belt line...no one yo actually talk to on the phone, that says ist alee I suppose. I wish I had seen this site earlier.
I have to say though I had no problems as a buyer so far.
All books arrived in a timely manner.

So I hope this problem will be solved soon to, although it should bnever have happened in the first place, as of now, I don't have a clue why they "froze" my account.

This is the worse system I have EVER attempted to use! No Customer Service! Prompts outdated!There is a hold charge on my credit card but I can not process my order. Your system states that I need to complete my registration but I never received the confirmation email from you. I can not see what is in the shopping cart to verify what items that is charged to my credit card. I have spent 2 days trying to use this system. I purchased a book on 7/2 and was told that I would be able to track it. I was given a tracking #7970678101. The cost of the book was $41, but $61 was deducted from my account. The book has not reached the destination, even though the mailing address is in Miami and the book is being mailed from the same town. I have been unable to reach someone who can tell me what has happened to the book and where is my money. I am disappointed with half.com.

I rented four books this past semester and in the process of ATTEMPTING to return one of my books, the site would not allow me to print a packing slip or return label. I then used the address and information from the original packaging and paid postage out of pocket- the book was returned three weeks later in NEW PACKAGING and NEW LABELS. Therefore leading me to believe, that they received the freaking book. I then went BACK ONLINE to ATTEMPT to reprint the label AGAIN and this time it did allow it. I relabeled my package and sent it off AGAIN. I then recieved an email three weeks later saying I would be charged $130 for the buyout fee of this book. I cannot get ahold of anyone, there is no contact information on the site itself-- I had to google it. The phone number leads you to an automated voicemail that tells you nothing but where to navigate online details of your account. I have found no way to reach a real live person or get this bull**** sorted out. I am livid.
It would be not that huge of a deal if I had the freaking book I could just resell- but I don't even have the damned thing!!! $130 for a book I don't have. I am deleting my account NOW- I suggest you do the same!!!

Half.com has incorrectly charged my account three times today in the amounts of $XXX.00, $XXX.00 and $XX.00. Two of these charges were made without any contact/email from Half.com. This was all the money my husband and I had remaining in our account until we get paid again in over a week! This is fraud! Why is there not a phone number we can call??



I finally received an email this evening at 5:23 PM MST stating why one of the charges was being made. Yet the reason they gave made no sense and this was LONG after my account was actually charged!I still have no idea why the $XXX.00 and $XXX.00 was charged to my account.



Two of these charges happened this morning and I sent emails to the two address I know about and also called E bay, which of course was no help. Then this afternoon I get an alert from my bank letting me know my balance was ZERO! Yep you guessed it, another charge from Half.com. Again I have sent more emails and called E Bay, but of course no response.



I have been renting text books from Half.com, but they are not due for almost a month! And now that Half.com has removed all of the money from my account I cannot put gas in my car, cannot buy food, cannot pay for ANYTHING. This needs to be cleared up as soon as possible.



This is ridiculous that in 2012 a multi-billion dollar corporation like E Bay cannot set up a customer service number staffed with real people- even if they answered in India at least something might be able to be done.



I really expected more out of E Bay... Yeah, I know I am the fool.

My daughter has been waiting for a book sincee the third week of May and still has not received it. Although the seller and Half.com state that the book has shipped neither can or will provide tracking information. The policy states that she could only file a claim on June 6th, when she tried to do that the system would not let her do so. The inability to contact anyone live and actually talk to them just confirms the lack of confidence the company has in their own business plan.

On 3/31/2012, I ordered a book from clothingbyangelina. I received a "canned" response from half.com, saying that the seller had been notified and would be sending the book out right away. The money was deducted from my account on 3/31, and that was the last thing that was heard from anyone! I waited past the "delivery" date, which was 4/20/2012, and still nothing! I was finally able to send an email to the seller, and got a response saying...refunding your money, haven't had this book in stock for quite some time, and just checked my emails!!
I'm sorry, this is NOT acceptable!! The book that we ordered we needed for an assignment & it was ordered well in advance of when it was needed, AND, since we live in Oregon, I bought from an Oregon seller, thinking that it would arrive in a more timely fashion!! Perhaps it would have (or at least we would have known something sooner, had the seller checked their email!!)

Pretty much the same problem as everyone else. Amazon had already blocked me for no reason and i was excited about another website like it. sold 200 dollars worth of books within days. that was 4 months ago and i still havent been paid. they say they suspended my account. horrible customer service. dont ever use them. chegg is the best option i have found just dont get near as much per book

I have not received my book I paid for 3 weeks ago!!!...The semester is 1/4th gone already...this needs to be resolved asap.....all this ordeal sucks!!!!!!!! And your customer service is garbage....

What a horrible business!!! They owe me $360 that they have not paid for books I sold through their service. It has been almost 6 months and no payment!!!
Anyone who is reading this, you should NOT use half.com.
