Customer service and support have been quite brilliant. I reported faults on a TouchSmart 310 PC , and in just over 24 hours it was all sorted !!!

Today I contacted HP cust serv to connect my daughters mac Book to wireless printer. The rep Heather was extremely patient and helpful, very personable as you can imagine it does take some time to install new drivers\connections\router info.

Heather never made me feel as if she dropped the line very engaging on my issues, The call lasted at least 1/2 hour and like I said her demeanor was superb! it takes alot of patience when dealing with all the new products out there but I was impressed at her knowledge about the MAC system, and error messages she knew what to trouble shoot immediately.

Hands down- The Canadian location for service is awesome, if for whatever reason I need to call back I can only hope my experience is just as good. Thank You Heather!

Okay, now that I calmed down I tried again to talk to Tech Support. They were very good this time especially when I was finally able to go to the supervisors to get my part ordered. The supervisors are really nice and I will be getting a new hard drive and my waranty was still good. I might have actually had a bad connection with the first call yesterday and because I was upset at my computer and wanted to run it over with the car, I might have been a little too touchy in my previous review.

Patience is a virtue as they say. I thank the people I talked with twice today. A hard drive should last longer than 8 months though, so I don't have to go through these kind of things. I do advise having supplies like food, water, blankets and medical supplies by the phone because you may be on there quite awhile.

I have a high end HP laptop, the EliteBook 8730W. This is an expensive workstation class computer, but it comes with an outstanding 3 year on site warranty.

When I got the computer, the DreamColor monitor, although fantastic in color and brightness, had a light color tinge at the bottom corners (reddish on left, greenish on right) that would be quite visible when viewing black and white pictures. So I went online and had the issue resolved in a matter of minutes through "Chat" with a CS representative in India, who quickly diagnosed an LED issue and sent a courier to pick up the machine the next day where I was staying at the time, and I had the computer back in a week (I am told if you live in a large city where they have technicians, they can fix this type of problem right where you are, while you wait!)

This level of customer support and after sales service is unbeatable and is way beyond anything you could get from an extended warranty service from a retailer such as Future Shop. When you consider the specs of the laptop and the level of service, the price premium is definitely worth considering it and, in my opinion, it was well worth waiting six months after its launch to get it at a generous discount, comparable to mid-range consumer level machines while still enjoying that fantastic world-class warranty.

dont know why all the complaints about hp custermer service. if younare under warrenty like you should be they are great. open your wallets. get the extened warrenty nothing is for free. never had a problem with hp! best tech support around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HP's customer service is excellent!! If you're out of warranty then purchase another year of service! Not many companies will give you free service if you are out of warranty.. heck most cars will not pay for any defects after 3 years and cars cost a lot of money. People expect too much for free these days. One year of free warranty service is more than adequate for a $500 laptop. It's pretty standard... Apple only offers 90 days of free telephone technical support... wow... that's ridiculous considering none of their computers are less than 1K. HP has definitely improved their customer service and I just experienced this when my LCD went white on my HP Envy. The LCD was replaced in 10 days and I didn't even spend a dime. Give credit where credit is due and stop trying to get free service for your 3 year old laptop. It's outdated.. Buy a new one.

Brilliant! Jeff stayed on the phone with me for an hour and a half but had my problem sorted by the time he was finished. He went through every option to get our printer to work wirelessly and didn't give up until he had us up and running. He even apologised to me when I lost my patience!?! What amazing support we have in NZ/Oz

Hi , Having gone through the comments over here , i certainly would like to share certain things . Not to support Hp or Go against them , Every1 here has a computer not me but many .. no matter it might be an Hp , dell , mac .. and every1 have got a problem with it , there is no person who has never got a problem with their computer as they are tend to work that way . " COMPUTERS ARE MACHINES AND THEY CAN GO WRONG AT ANY POINT OF TIME "
So Stop being depressed of the issue you have and instead try to resolve it in any possible way you can .
Teach support in HP is good and has been globally renowned - its just that cpl of bad experiences should not change your mind .

Dear Sir ,

Kindly refer to the protracted correspondence resting on the above subject from this unit, Sector Hqrs, Frontier HQ and DGS&D. Neither the subject Eqpt has yet been repaired nor any replacement has yet been provided even after 4 years.

2. The said printers was collected vide invoice no 331 dated 23/11/2010 by HP Authorized Service Centre, M/S RT Outsourcing Services Ltd. Srinagar on 23/11/2010. When contacted M/S RT Outsourcing Services Ltd. Srinagar has intimated verbally to accept the Eqpt as it is and instead lodge a fresh complaint, which seems to be quite unreasonable.

3. It is once again requested, that HP Authorized Service Centre, M/S RT Outsourcing Services Ltd. Srinagar may be directed to repair/replace the defective printer at the earliest on previously lodged complaint itself, or otherwise a fresh colour laser jet printer may be provided to set the long pending record straight.

4. An early action in this regard highly appreciated.

Recently called for support in order to digitalize my negatives with the HP Scanjet 4850. My machine is not under warranty anymore. Got transferred twice (to get the right employee for this question), answered quickly and politely. Made me download TeamViewer and showed me how to do it, taking control of my computer. Amazing! Within 5 minutes I was in business. Good job guys, keep it up!

Too many people complain about customer service when it is in fact the customer itself who is the problem! I'm a customer, not a worker or anything, and my experience with HP phone calls has always been very satisfactory.

I always get put on the phone line with usually a reliable rep who is patient, easy going, and willing to help you until your problem is solved. I one time spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with a rep just because he was helping me solve the problem to a HP printer I bought and was very easy to understand, knowledgeable on the product, nice to deal with, and all around highly satisfactory experience.

I just wanted to Thank you for your SWIFT and CURTIOUS handeling of my recent laptop problem. The tech on the phone was knowledgable and friendly, giving me the correct advice on how to send my laptop in to repair an "in warrenty" issue. The turn around time of one week from sending me the return shipment box, 09/08/10, to the time I received my laptop back 09/15/10, in full operating condition. After 8 hours on the phone with HP and waiting patiently for 3 weeks HP finallly sent me a new battery. It was so worth it! I love HP! I don't care if other places can handle your problems under 30 minutes.

I had a positive experience with an HP case Mgr. located in the US, case # 7501502151. Very detailed oriented and to the point resolving the issue in a quick and efficient manner. Unfortunately the 7 other incidences offset that by too wide a margin.

I support US based technical and customer centers.

- Reachability
was a 10 ONLY AFTER a case Mgr in the US contacted me. It was easy to reach him.

- Issue Resolution
This case mgr. was as close as I could get to what I consider my level of quality and far exceeded my expectations

- Friendliness
This case mgr. was like talking to a resolutions professional, he listened, not just heard what I said. He understood my frustration, and did not just gave a disingenuous response to my needs. Besides those things, he spoke perfect english, he understood my analogies and that my analytical approach to troubleshooting was not to be belittled because I was not a trained printer expert.

- Product Knowledge
This was his forte and I was happy that he was the case Mgr. I was working with. I was able to have intelligent dialog with him to resolve the issue quickly without the run around being put on hold ten times.

HDD failed two months in, They replaced my imac free-of-charge. Ten minutes later I was walking out with a brand new computer. Top notch service in this era of computing. All call lines are located in North America so you aren't calling New Dehli....Computer works great and so does Apple.

I had the best experience today with one of HPs case managers! After a lot of frustration with the overseas 800# people and multiple calls, today a wonderful and very helpful man called me and took care of warranty problem. I am more than satisfied with the customer service I received today from the big office.

Lucky for me, I was connected with Tech Support within 2 minutes. My representative,Debarati, was extremely pleasant and patient with me while we attempted to solve my problem. She was knowledgeable about most aspects, had to briefly put me on hold a few times to check on specifics, but quickly got back to me. Unfortunately, my laptop is still not working and has to be sent in for service. Since I have had the laptop for less than 3 months, Debarati advised me it is fully covered under the warranty.
When I get the laptop back, I will post again with comments, but so far I am very happy with the service I received.

I wanted some advice and information before buying a printer. Alex, your representative, gave me both with efficiency and courtesy combined with the technical knowledge to make the entire experience a very satisfactory one.

THERE ARE MIRACLES!!! After three miserable calls with the India call center, I miraculously reached an agent in the US. I didn't even know this existed. (Thank goodness for Linda!!!)

TIP: I asked what the secret was for reaching a US agent. They open at 7am Central time and she said the earlier in the day you call, the better luck you have of reaching the US center. Linda listened to and immediately solved my problem without the flow-chart runaround and stonewalling you get overseas. I couldn't believe I didn't have to beg for help and repeat myself five times to communicate, like you do with the overseas agents.

Based on Linda's help, my previous negative impression of HP has been slightly improved. Are you listening HP?!?! My ratings only refer to Linda in the US call center. Ratings for the India center would be completely opposite. The extra money HP spends to pay the US call center agents is worth every penny because I MIGHT consider an HP product in the future, where as before I was very disgruntled and fed up.

Please keep in mind as your reading these reviews that people tend to be more outspoken when they are upset and looking for their closure then people who are genuinely happy with a service. HP has stayed in business for so long because they do have award winning customer support. I have recently had one of these happy expeirences.
