I've had OOma a very long time for landline phone, over 4-5 yrs. I never need to call with a problem, so now that I have one, I tried to call customer service, but they are closed at this time. My ooma device is blue as normal, so that's not an issue. I can dial out, but unfortunately any call I make gives a busy signal & that's not normal! I checked by using my cell & no number I called was busy signal. What's going on with OOma to get a problem like this, never encountered. I don't know what time it started but I know it's been going on an hour already. Does it also mean people can't reach me? I'm sorry, but tomorrow's my b-day and I'd like this fixed tonight~Any chance of that?

So I have used OOMA for about 8 years. It was necessary to have a landline in order to work from home. I have actually been happy with it. However, I am retiring and no longer need the service. Apparently you can't cancel online and after trying to do it through live chat I was informed I had to call the customer service center. So I did....I stayed on Hold for about 45 minutes only to find after selecting from several options (literally had to push 2223142 on keypad to get to the next step of each category) and there really can be no mistake when it says TO CANCEL SERVICE push option 2. Then I was finally connected to a customer service rep who then tried to convince me not to cancel and offered me other options, when I clearly advised him that I had no need for it. He then said "OK, I will transfer you to our customer Service Rep that can handle this for you. ANOTHER 45 minutes. He also tried to sell me a lesser option which I again declined. Then after I was SO frustrated I said "PLEASE CANCEL THE SERVICE, I DON'T WANT ANYTHING ELSE, I DON'T NEED ANYTHING ELSE AND AFTER BEING ON THE HOLD FOR THIS LONG I AM NOT SURE I WANT TO DEAL WITH YOUR COMPANY ANYWAY" he said "there is no need to shout". I responded with "apparently there is since you are not hearing me". It should be easier than this. It "almost" made the $6.00+ a month I was paying not worth the effort but $75.00 (a year) is $75.00.

Absolutely the worst technical support in the business. Let's hire a bunch of people that can't even spell Ooma to support the systems. We had an Ooma telo go bad and we followed the swap out procedures with their tech support and it is now in limbo hell as I can't get anyone to even address the issue. My advice - find a USA based company and stick with them. Throw Ooma out the door.

I called to try to cancel my service. They asked why. I replied that I only had a landline for elderly family to call me (my mobile is long-distance). My family has since died. I had to repeat that over and over. How the heck did that make me feel? Horrible.

The clueless "customer service" person then tried to convince me not to cancel. I asked if he knew what "dead" means. Then he tried to sell me other services. WTH?

Seriously, the worst customer service ever.

I have used ooma.com for about 3 years with no problem. Now if I have enter a number to indicate an action, the response I get is "that is not a recognizable/usable number, please re-enter the appropriate number" and of course I can discuss with a computer..
Sooo, where do I go from now. I NEED HELP.

I have been using Ooma home phone service for approx. 8 years now and have had no problems until now.
I had to change my debit card # for safety reasons about 3 weeks ago and set up an online banking account for bill paying. I don't have the info. on Ooma to set up your account online and have gotten nowhere in trying to contact a real person in your company. The robots have been of no help in my situation. I have given my new debit card # to 2 of your robots but still no progress.

My online bill paying account is asking for your address and my account # with you but I am unable to find that info. which I assume was lost in my move over 5 years ago.

Really bad customer service. One of the worst i have come across, the representatives have very little to no concern in giving you proper information or resolving the issues. When you speak about cancelling, they are quick to do that.

I just received the products to set up my account with OOMA and I just realized that there is no customer service, nor can you speak to someone that understands English. I am thinking that I made a terrible and in my case a costly mistake.

User interface is chuck full of premium up-charge bombs to fund a bad business model. Ooma's "FREE" service starts out at $60 per year and one wrong click on the user interface and WHAM*!#% $200/ year (starting point) for the same services you were getting for free....Oops I mean $60. Two wrong clicks could land you above $400/ year on their "FREE" phone.
I called customer service on the day they charge me for an unknown "click" (caller block feature), (had 17 old blocks not charged. Customer service said, "you click we charge and will not reverse charges".

Ooma's unforgiving data handshake with their server send a VERY ANNOYING "beep" (like your being recorded)to the ones at the other end of the conversation. This "beep" comes from the server getting lost and needing to be re-synced with your equipment.

As a side comment on Ooma's claimed "#1 VIOP service" with only 600,000 customers falls far short of MagicJack's near 3,000,000 and charging less than $40/ year for the same service (more if 911 service). Plus MagicJack's App on your cellphone to receive and make WiFi or data calls explains why Ooma tanked on their stock offering to the public (IPO).

Our phone occasionally doesn't' let us hear the other party - or - sometimes the other can't hear us. Could this be the Ooma system, the Internet or our phone system which is: hands free, has four extensions with batteries that are recharged when returned to their cradles and perhaps the batteries are at the end of their reliable life and should be replaced? Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated. FYI, we are Ooma users four a couple years now, and, the phone system is a Vetech which is about 10 years old.

Thank you

Worst service, they are competing with comcast for the worst customer service as they keep transferring you to different offices and put you on hold. I would highly suggest to not take the services since when you try to disconnect it will not be a a good experience.

My Ooma line has not been working since this morning; I have reset the router-modem and also the Ooma device itself; there are no red or blinking lights on the device and the phone handset gives the ooma dial tone but calls do not go through or come in. I tried calling customer service and get the message that you are experiencing technical difficulties.

Rude customer service! When very important, life or death, incoming calls tried to come through, a OOMA voice message came on -- informing me they were unable to process the card they had on file for me and that I needed to call to update the information or call customer service...consequently the person calling me always hung up because they were unable to reach me caller hung

Whatever method OOMA has of getting this message to me should be handled via an email of text, but certainly not by interrupting incoming and outgoing calls. My cell phone number is

If this method of notifying ever occurs again,. I will cancel OOMA telephone service.

I was promised that after I set up Ooma I would be able to speak to an American customer service agent at this corporate number. I called and the lady that answered gave me an number, that she says is American customer service...it was not. I called back to California and she refused to let me speak to anyone in the corporate office.
I am a new customer just getting my number ported. I like your product but your customer service does not exist.

I bought Ooma two years ago. I absolutely love it. I had no trouble installing it since I called customer service for help. The directions were actually clear, but I was not comfortable doing it without someone walking me through it. They were marvelous. My phone bill is now $4 a month as compared to $40, so I am more than repaid for the cost of the device. In two years I have only had 2 dropped calls. That's amazing. I truly recommend Ooma.

Hello,
I purchased my Ooma Telco a year ago and never looked back.
These people can/could be teaching Customer Service to people like Sudden Link, Vonage, Verizon etc. All the above listed names are the bottom of a dirty pit for customer service.
The bunch at Ooma are just about the best.
Me I'm a grumpy old man that hates everyone, especially Democrats/Liars, communists etc. I'm an engineer that has made my living in electronics for longer than most of you have been alive. I hate incompetence. Especially when you come off about how good you are but you can't find your butt standing on a mirror and using both hands.
Almost every gripe I've seen about Ooma is from those who didn't have time to RTFM.
I use set up in an advanced mode with it forwarding certain ports through to different servers.
Do not just plug this device into a router or switch where your PC plugs into. It will not work and you deserve what you get if you do it. Read the manual. If you don't understand it call CS they can and will help you.
