This company is despicable! Apparently a roof leak in our unit that we were unaware of as we were out of state looking for a new home has caused our unit to be covered in black mold. Public storage is refusing any responsibility at all. They required us to purchase insurance through them but the maximum we could get was 5 grand. We are now being told that it will cost us over 10 grand to a company to come in and try to salvage anything they can from the unit. The insurance does not even come close to covering the loss and damages incurred due to black mold. We have everything we own in that unit and Public Storage is taking no responsibility. We can't even take our complaints to corporate as you can't get a live person to talk to. The local and district managers have lied to us and have been worthless to deal with. The black mold is now traveling into the units next to us and they will only notify the renters that there has been a roof leak. Renters beware.....this company is despicable!
They have taken customer service out of the equation. The locations that do have a person working there, the employees don't speak even when you are speaking to them. The have made there site office resemble a prison size booth, where you have to stand and speak to a person who is at their home through a very irritating video monitor on the wall and positioned so that you are uncomfortable viewing the monitor and bending to see or key in your information. I had to kneel down with my medical boot on one foot and my leg devise on another to speak to someone through a video and see what I was keying in as if I am in a a prison cell or something. I went to pay my bill today only to find out that they have gone up $60 on each of my units without notice, that's $120 and I haven't been th
I've had my unit for six months now and have been on auto-pay since opening the account. Today I found my rate had gone up, from $267 mo. to $333, almost 25%! When I called to ask if I had been over-charged, I was informed that (naturally) it's in the contract that PS has the right to increase their rates at their discretion. While I'm not arguing a rate increase (I would have expected and can accept a 5%-10% increase), I take extreme exception to the amount! That's GOUGING for the sake of simply being able to, knowing the tenant has spent A LOT of money moving their stuff in, and have no other recourse than to take the increase, or spend A LOT of money to move out and go elsewhere! Their feeble excuse is "It's not us, it's Corporate" -- and that excuse came from someone AT corporate! They also acknowledged that they weren't able to send an email of the impending increase (their servers were down that day?), but did send a postcard to the address I NO LONGER LIVE AT, which is WHY my stuff is in your STORAGE UNIT!!! DUH! When I called to discuss the rate increase in such a short time (6 months), I was told they could "request" a discount, but it would only be for $30, good towards 3 months rental, and (since I've already paid for Aug/Sept), it would not go into effect until Oct/Nov!! WTF??? So, yeah, I'll be moving and I'll make sure I pass along this unethical practice to as many as I possibly can!
Do not use Public Storage! Within a year the fees have went up! May 2022 was $255.00 for 10x30 storage, in Sept 2022 fee went to $311.00, January 2023 fee went to $326.00, and now August 2023 fee is $373.00!!! ? Whatever happened to customer loyalty? Obviously, they're ready for me to move to a new storage company instead of stay with them! ?
Terrible. Somebody opened an account in my name. I called and was told not to worry, that they would take care of the situation. They did not check the identity before opening the account in my name. I spoke to Sally at an Edmond location and she treated me awful and made me feel like it was my fault. They sent me to collections for an account that I proved was not mine. Sally said she would transfer me and she hung up the phone on me. Now I have to deal with Allied Interstate Collections for something that was not mine. This company will open an account for anyone. They are just as responsible and fraudulent as the criminals out there stealing our identity everyday. Don't go to this place if you want your information to be secure!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm like others! These folks don't care nothing about your financial situation! I'm just on my 2nd month off being late and my belongings are about to be auctioned already!! I y late husband and late grandsons memories in that storage! I don'tknow who runs this company but it's very sad! All I needed was a little more time I'm waiting on my taxes! This is so hurtful
I made the mistake of accidentally making a extra payment, and requested a refund back for the extra payment. The woman in the fron
t office was not helpful, and told me someone from the corporate off would have to reverse it. Little these people understand if there's no customers, then no money is coming in, and they will have no jobs, and there will be no Public Storage.
I would not suggest this facility. I made a reservation here for my daughters Toyota Camry to be stored for the summer while she is home from college. I called Public Storage and was told there would be no problem with the car fitting in the 10 x 20 unit. Well, as it turns out the gate to get in is not 10 feet wide. It is only 7.5 feet wide which means we can't get the car in without damaging the side mirrors.
I understand completely that mistakes happen - HOWEVER - they tried to charge me a $29 "non refundable fee" for giving me wrong information! The only reason we made the reservation is the false information that we were given over the phone. We disputed it with our credit card company and also reached out to Public Storage multiple times via phone and email so it has taken a lot of my time to fix their mistake. I spoke with a man named Brisco today who made no apology and just said he would send it to collections (?!)
So, to confirm, they gave us completely wrong information and are trying to charge us $29 for their mistake? Look elsewhere to rent if this is any indication as to how they do business.
The company lies to their tenets and employees. My best advice is to stay away all together In the Frisco, McKinney, and Prosper Texas area....The office help is over worked and severely underpaid. They are forced to do the dirty work with properties and customers while the District Manager and on up say and do whatever to make themselves look good and cover their own butts while receiving "the big bucks".

Frisco, TX 75033M the mananger there name Meliza she is so abusive whit costumers! I shoud see at first when I walk in she was fairing whit a male costumers she was so rud to him! And I regret to get a unit whit this company I'm really mad at my self they are such a tiffs! They said one dollar for the first month but is not true be really carefull whit this people, they charge you $29 dollar fee don't know for what aplicación fee! Are you getting and apartment! And they charge you $20 for the lock but they not even explain to you that ?? than $15 for insurance every month! Than the monthly fee for each month depend the rate you get I understand that, but I move on February 28 and they charge me for the hall month of February & they make me pay for March twoo and they charge me for March & April and now they said is for Februaryy & March! Even I move on the end of February they charge me for all the month of February I can't belive this people! I'm really mad at my self cause I have a bad feeling about this place! Just don't rent whit them, and costumer cervice really bad worst costumer service I ever ever had in my in tire life!!!! ??? I will never ever recomend this storage place to any one.
Public storage is a scam and does not care about its customers. I am speaking specifically about the business in Matthews, North Carolina. They give you a decent rate for a few months then jack up the price on the unit. I ended up paying more than double in a very short time. After traveling 14 hours to retrieve my belongings for the last time I couldn't access my pod. I had no outstanding bill but my gate code was not working. I called customer service they told me to go to the main office which I did and although the the sign in the window said open the door was locked and no one was there. I called the number and did get ahold of a manager but was told that an appointment needed to be made because they did not have employees to work and were short staffed. There was no communication about this whatsoever and I wasted a lot of time driving down to get my stuff after not wanting to pay their ridiculous prices anymore. I requested that someone come down to allow me in to my unit WHICH WAS DURING OFFICE HOURS AND WAS REFUSED and told I need to make an appointment. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FIND A PLACE THATS NOT A SCAM!
I am being wrongfully accused of owning monies that I donot owe move out of the facility last year 2022 at 8:30 the 2nd of Dec and payment was due the 3rd, and now their trying to get me to pay for another month which is not going to happen and now no one wants to talk to me because I informed them that just like your recording me you are being recorded as well, that's when they refuse to talk to me, so I can be recorded but you cannot be recorded that is very very strange,
I find your tactics despicable- I consider "Public Storage" thieves, I am forced to pay the recent rent increase due to the fact I had a heart attack on 11/28/22. I will begin action to file a lawsuit against "Public Storage" and do battle in the Courts- I will be contacting others relating to your deception and file a "Class Action" lawsuit.
Public storage sold my property & didn't properly notify me in advance I was in rehab for a stroke and they li d when they said I didn't have any photos in the unit

I've had my storage units almost 2 years now , Two large units at that. During the pandemic I lost my job Public STORAGE NOt one time or had any sympathy of caring I've been struggling during those time not once did they say ok ms jones you can pay next month instead they wanna put you stuff up I to auction I'm glad I have my job back .I'm paying almost $500 if late just to keep my things. Public storage you have no sympathy for people
The light doesn't work in the unit they said they would fix it but it's not when you constantly advertise the units have lighting
The one manager there is a terrible person saying and doing all kind of things outside her job I reported her and it became worst

Great customer service experience with Senior Customer Service Call Center Representative Taliah.
I have had a unit for 9 months and called customer service to go over my monthly rate in detail to understand my account and printed payment receipts better.
Not only did Taliah go over my billing in a detailed manner she helped me understand my bill better going forward and was very knowledgeable, professional and went above and beyond in assistance requested answering all of my questions.

Carvell Kane at Salem public storage was exceedingly helpful. he made my husband and I's process of getting a storage space very easy. He was very knowledgeable of his job and exceedingly helpful. I can't say that enough his customer service made it easy for us to go through the process his smile, outshined the sun such a great guy to have in your front office.
Today I had the pleasure of working with Ebony W at the Public Storage at 10688. She was a joy to work with. She is friendly, smart and pays attention to customer service. I'm elderly and she could not have been more kind helping me move in. Please keep her as a valued employee.

Tashawna was awesome. I was stirring my car for a couple of months. But up in the north here you have a lot of ice and snow. One spot was impossible. She took a shovel and ice chopper and found me an open spot. It was even less than the spot I signed up for. 5 out of 5. She did a great job.
Recently I reached out to the property manager at my location. General booth in Virginia Beach, her name is Chastity. I misplaced the key to my lock, she was absolutely wonderful, scheduled an appointment for the lock to be removed. Chastity kept in contact with me and when everything was done she notified me immediately. I could not have asked for better service. Chastity is a wonderful example of someone who enjoys their job and is a great representative for Public storage.
Nancy at the Troy, Michigan-t Maple road location was so helpful and pleasant. She is always eager to help and made the rental of our unit quickly and efficiently, with a smile. We love it when she is in the office now so we can say hello. She's the best! Also the units are clean and bright.
I am using the Public Storage at 5900 Lakehurst Dr, Orlando, FL 32819 since November 2021 and this month I have a serious family sickness (my husband had 2 heart attacks, 2 surgeries) and we are dealing with difficult financial situation. I went to the office to talk to them about the price that increased this month and the assistant Desiree was outstanding. She didn't only understand my problem but also keep the old price for me for 3 months more what will help me a lot since just me work at this time. I really appreciated the consideration and attention she gave me. She was fantastic and deserves this comment. Thank you so much Desiree.
We have been a customer of Public Storage store #23018 for 10 years and have always been treated like family. But I want to give Rene at the Fontana, Ca.office 2 huge thumbs up for her beautiful understanding and going far and above to help myself and my wife. Quite honestly I'm a loss for words. My name is van Phillips I had a wonderful experience with the public stories unit on on Wilson Street in St Louis my business recently moved and I needed to put my things away immediately contacted public storage on Wilson and found that it was very easy to get in that the rates were cheap and it was also clean very clean I rented a unit that was too small had no problems getting them changed over to a bigger unit the lady at the front desk was more than help her I think her name was Miss Sid if I can remember right she was very nice easy to talk to and had no problems helping me at all I've never had an experience with public storage unit before this I think I would rent from them all the time they should have a star rating
