Since I moved to this house, I always have fluctuation and power breakdowns whenever there is even a slightest of wind or rain. that needs to fix as it effects my home appliances, AC unit, HVAC etc.

I have lived at my address over 7 years. Every time I call. They need to reregister my address. And you can call me on the right phone number. When I have to pay. I called today. And you had some random number. I regave address and number

I am paying for home service plus. It lists the clothes washer as a covered appliance. I had a technician come over to repair the appliance today(1/20/2023) The technician informed me that the part that is not functioning on the washer is not covered. I pay for this service and when I signed up it only showed me a list of the appliances that are covered. At no point did it give me any information about there being parts of these appliances that are not covered. I spoke with two representatives who parroted the same thing. I am being forced to buy a new washer because of non performance of this contractual obligation by Centerpoint energy. They need to refund the money that they have charged me as well as pay for this new appliance due to their non performance.

Let me tell you if you're a business or just residential if you cancel their services you better get a confirmation in writing! And even with that they will leave it on and then expect you to pay the bill even though you told them to turn it off! And then when you dispute the bill they'll turn it over to a collection agency and then HIDE the fact that they didnt turn it off when they were supposed to.Beware... Bad people with no morals or business sense

How can you sleep at night charging someone $700+ for electric and gas

CenterPoint Energy is a very unprofessional company! I don't even know why they exist! They couldn't detect any gas leak, and they didn't even want to install a gas meter after I made 4 appointments with them! Each time they had different excuses...

I am currently buying a house, and my home inspector found a gas back in mid December, 2021. Called CenterPoint and reported a gas leak, and then hadn't heard them even after the holidays. So I called Centerpoint again, and the rep said the technician didn't find any leak. I asked my inspector to come back and check right away, and he said the leak was still there. This time the seller finally took action, and had someone fixed the leak. Later in mid January I hired someone to check whether the leak is fixed, the guy said he couldn't check at all because there was no gas meter!

CenterPoint took it away because of the leak. Alright, I totally understand because they need to make sure the guys were safe when they were doing repairs. But this was when the endless nightmare started. We called CenterPoint to send someone and install the gas meter. At the time of appointment, a guy showed up, not knowing what he was supposed to do during that appointment. So my realtor and I told him we need the gas meter installed. He then called back to his company and asked for instructions. The person on the phone told us we need the city's permit so that they know the repair passed the city's inspection and it is safe to put back the gas meter. We did what they said, and scheduled a second appointment. This time no one showed up, and the appointment was canceled. CenterPoint told me they still didn't have the permit so they had to cancel the appointment. We then called City of Houston and found out the permit was already sent to CenterPoint right after the repair was done in mid January. The representatives just didn't know. Somehow they didn't see the permit although it was already there. Our closing date was already delayed several times. The initial closing date was 1/18.

Knowing CenterPoint already received the permit from the city for sure, I called again to schedule an installation for the 3rd attempt. Again, on the day of appointment, it was canceled because CenterPoint said the property I am buying is a townhouse. So a normal 1-person appointment would not suffice and a manifold appointment would be required. This time, a so-called supervisor guaranteed me that 2/17 the installation would take place. Because I several bad experiences with CenterPoint, I called CenterPoint the day before, AND on the day of the appointment to make sure someone will come install the gas meter.

Sadly, CenterPoint lied again. Today is 2/18, and the meter is still not there......They just kept lying. It is easy for them to lie. But I had to pay extra rent, and a fee for my interest rate extension, etc., not to say I wasted lots of my precious time making phone calls to CenterPoint( the wait time to talk to a rep is from 50-60+ minutes.) I don't even know when the closing will take place, it is delayed for the whole month, and still don't see when this will happen.

I already posted, but am also curious why every attempt to reach a person results in a 45 minute wait on hold-every time. It's frustrating when you are simply trying to get you gas back on and have made multiple calls the last couple of days to just be lied to about someone coming out.

We have been having many issues with getting our gas service restored after it was shut off. After the bill was paid in full, I scheduled an appointment for the following day, but the order was canceled after 1 missed phone call (I was told there would be 2 phone calls, and then cancellation). The rep said since the technician did not try to call back, they would send someone between then (around 3) and 10 p.m. My husband and I were alert to watch for people/phone calls that entire time. No one came, so I called the next day and they said they could charge me a fee to do it today (Friday), or without a charge on Monday. I told the rep that our phones were by our sides and the front door camera alerts were enabled. I was told someone called my phone around 7, and that someone showed up around 7:20 and no one was home. Our cameras show this is not true, and I received no phone calls at all last night from anyone, let alone Centerpoint. My concern is the outright lying that someone came and called, and that therefore, they would have to charge me to come out today.

Garbage. I'm in Minnesota, it's the middle of Nov and our furnace stopped working. We've been paying for HomeService Plus for years so we set an appt up to get it looked at for today b.c it was the earliest we.could get in (mind you that meant having to live with no furnace for over a week. In Minnesota. In November). Window was 8am-4pm originally. Got a phone call at 3pm saying the window is now until 8pm. It is now 8pm and they have not arrived and have not given us another phone call telling us wtf is going on.
If I had a choice I'd just go to another company but they have a monopoly in the metro area, I DO NOT HAVE any other choice
This is not the first time we've had problems getting them to come out to utilize a service we've been paying for for ages. We pay our bill in full and on time every. Single. Month.
I will be cancelling my additional service after this and providing my money to someone who gives a shit

Contacted CenterPoint Energy in regards to the passing of a family member. The disconnect notice on the door advised he was delinquent for the amount of $76.08. When I spoke with a representative, I was advised the amount due was $182.48. I asked about adjusting the bill because he had passed in May. I was advised they could do nothing and to get it reconnected I would have to pay $310.48. $182.48, a deposit and reconnect fee. Very disappointed with the lack of empathy this company showed. As administrator to the estate I was not allowed to do anything until the court signed the letter of authority. I have no problem paying the $76.08 as indicated on the back of the disconnect notice, but apparently this company would extort money from a deceased person.

I live in Iowa Colony, Tx. and in a new neighborhood. We constantly have brownouts and some severe enough to kill electronics. Centerpoint Energy does nothing about this and the response I got was that it's common in this area. Well, fix it!

The little winter storm that came through has taken down the whole area. Center point is experiencing "technical difficulties" on their website so you can't contact them. It's freezing in my house and I've been without power for twelve hours without a means of getting updates since they are liars and are just avoiding their customers. This little bit of sleet shouldn't have taken everyone down for this long. I've been in much worse weather without the power dropping at all.

You can never get through to Centerpoint customer service. Doesn't matter what time of day or night. Today for instance, the power went out at approximately 4:45 a.m. I called to report it and, based on no outages having been reported yet, I would have been the first one calling to report. I stayed on the line for 15 minutes before getting tired of waiting and so hung up and called back. Could not get through at that point. So keet trying and, on the fourth attempt I got a message saying the power outage was known and, would be restored at 8 am cst. The power outage was not listed on the outage map for nearly 3 hours. Then checking it at 7:45 a.m., it said power would now be restored at 10:45 a.m., not 8 a.m. as the phone message indicated. So, seeing as their hours were 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. I called back only to get an automated message saying the power would now be restored by 11 a.m. At that point I never got through again as, every time I attempted to call it rang once then gave a busy signal. Also, I did not get any text alerts about outages as I should have saying that I signed up for it over a year ago. This company's customer service is the absolute worst ever!

On my 4 possible attempt with centrepoint energy to get my central air unit recharged after they service. They canceled on me twice after an 8 and 4 hour time window and then cancel a third time after changing my appointment time without letting me know. Minneapolis service dispatch sucks.

My bill was confusing and not paid correctly. I was on a payment arrangement and was paying according to my understanding.
Now I am up for disconnection and I don't have 1700.00 to pay.

Center Point Energy has HORRIBLE customer service. They simply do not care about their customers. My gas got turned off and we paid our bill and the extra 50$ for them to do Same day turn-on. We asked them to come out after 4:30 as my husband and I both work. They came out before 4:30 and since we were not home, we didn't get our gas turned on. When we called and asked for a refund we got rude customer service AND management. They simply told us that their workers came out and we will not get a refund. We explained we had a toddler and really needed the hot water, and I kid you not the maanger told us he couldn't do anything about it and we wouldnt get our gas turned on until we took off work and met his workers there ON THEIR SCHEDULE, not ours. We paid extra and didn't receive our sercive, and they will not refund. Now I'm taking off work today to meet their worker, so I don't have to boil water to bathe my baby. This is ridiculous. They know we don't have another option and are stuck with them, so they are EXTREMELY RUDE.

This is by far the most despicable utility company that I have ever HAD to do business with. Customer Service is nonexistent. If you do actually reach a human after being put on hold and being subjected to the same song for 40 minutes, they really have nothing to tell you that you don't already know. There are no numbers to call a manager, supervisor or technician. You are told your appointment is from 8am to 5pm but really they have until 8pm to show up. When they don't show up at all and you have taken the day off from work waiting, there are no calls of apology or explanation. I notice that filing a complaint is useless as management doesn't care one flip as to how the customer is treated. This is truly a monopoly and they know we as gas consumers have no choice. Karma will be sweet one day.

We use your service. I am a customer. What training do you provide your call center supervisors and agents that makes them be rude, short, have unprofessional conduct, and a lack of any customer service skills. I work in the call center industry and have for 35 years. How can you as a large provider that serves tyler texas tell a customer that your company does not care about the elderly or handicap persons of tyler. I am appalled.

The worst customer service, and the most byzantine phone answering system and web site I have ever seen. This company needs to take a course in intuitive customer contact from Apple.

Your employee Jatana Lindsey, were posted on Reliant Energy's Customer Service Scoreboard, which were meant for CenterPoint Energy.... This person puts a frown on CenterPoint Energy, her conduct stinks !!!
Rude and stupid, how can such a person conduct herself in such a manner with co-workers and most importantly the Customers. CenterPoint Energy should beware of Employees as such....You would think that a company that assist so many people would employ, such a person. SHAME and DISGRACE

Terrance came to 425 Contour Dr. Lake Charles La. I have to say he was so nice! All techs need to learn from him. Most people just do complaints but l had to give him a 10 on great service! The only thing l was unsure of is the company that answered my call, NY SOLUTIONS located out of Colorado. Stated they did our electricity and gas. Hope they are legit because they charged me new deposits!
