Costco, I just found out your store will be one of the few closed on THANKSGIVING... BRAVO, I am glad to hear it. Thank you for the families that will be able to enjoy the day, we are robbed of many of them... by greed to get the public's dollars and glad your store has made a stand for something much more important than PROFIT

I have shopped in your Nanuet, NY store for years, In the past few months I was asked by my company to pick up a cake for the staff. I went to Costco because someone referred the bakery department. I must say that I was very impressed by one of your associates "Dionne" in the bake shop. On two occassions she went out of her way to help me. She is very creative and graciously suggested that she would be able to easily write on a cake that had been already decorated. Both times she went beyond my expectations. She is truly an asset to your company. She is a keeper.
Yours truly.

I am always extremely impressed with, Samuel Hitt, at the Fredericksburg VA. Costco. This young man is able to assist me and answer questions and concerns that even the managers have not been able to answer.

Recently I commented negatively on what I considered a failure on the part of Costco to provide simple customer service with an issue I was experiencing.
Today I had a call from my local Costco store and they went the extra mile (actually about 100 in this case) to remedy the issue at hand.
I am grateful for the excellent customer service.
Thank you Costco.

I thought the support person was great. He was very patient with me and offered to call back next week to see how I was doing. Much more help than the manufacturer
support.

I am a long time customer of Costco. I have never had reason to complain about the service at the store. I have also never had reason to praise the customer service until yesterday. In shopping for an entree for a New Year's party I spoke with an employee in the butcher shop. He told me that there would be more of the prime rib roasts the following day. When I returned the following day I was informed that was not the case and that they might not even be available. That person said that I should speak to the manager, whose name is Gary Miller for more details. When I spoke with Gary I was so impressed with his care and concern about my holiday meal. He said that he would research and get back to me. He took my name and number. Driving home that same day I received a call from Gary who told me that there would indeed be more product tomorrow and that he would see to it that it was seasoned and reserved for me. First thing next morning I went back to Costco and spoke with Gary. He had indeed kept his word. I was doubly impressed that he remembered and called me by name. He is an exceptional representative of Costco and I hope that he is recognized. He works at the Irwindale, California, store.

I have been a member of Costco for years and spend a lot of money every year at the stores, however, I am disgusted and disillusioned with Costco at this time and am looking in other directions, including Sam's which I understand is upgrading their stores to be on par with Costco. First of all, I have been waiting for six months for Costco to have someone come to the house for carpeting and no results for whatever the reason so in January I will contact other dealers so I can have them installed by no later than February. I was referred to a carpet dealer that a relative was pleased with. I would like to take advantage of a bedroom set, but need a full size bed which you do not have and when I call the toll free number they offer no assistance and really do not appear all that interested.I even asked if I could purchase the set without the bed as the dimensions are good for my room but told flatly no. I am sorry to give up my membership but prices keep going up and I am not getting the services that made Costco successful and desireable. For certain if you have enough customers who are dissatisfied in the future, and you lose business, you may reevaluate what you are doing wrong

Costco is getting to be the ONLY place I buy appliances, etc., because everywhere else has such abysmal customer service.

I'm in the process of buying appliances from Home Depot and I will say, "never again!" since their delivery is impossible... you can't even request a window of 4 or 5 hours for delivery... you are stuck the whole day.
Plus their deilvery service seems incompetent-- they damaged the merchandise requiring yet another delivery... but I digress.

Costco return policy is legendary. "The customer is always right." When an order for a computer came not as described, it was Dell that was in error, not Costco, and Costco is giving me a giftcard because of my being inconvenienced.

Now THAT is a great store.

This is the Culver City,Costco, I've dealt with, but costco.com has also been fine.

I purchased defective tires from Costco, check CA law on warranties, and realized Costco warranty policy on tires is not within the confounds of the law. I was able to receive a complete refund on my tires at Costco and this is why I will still shop there and gave it 3 stars.

RE: Costco Tires for 1987 Cadillac Coupe de Ville (1st Attempt)

Dear Costco Corporate Headquarters,

It is with immense concern that I am writing you. Our family business has been a member of Costco since before I can remember, and we have always purchased tires through your company. We have continuously been impressed with your service and the products provided. In fact, I have personally written to local Costco stores regarding certain employees who have provided above-and-beyond service in our exchanges.

Issue:
I purchased four tires for my 1987 Cadillac a little over 2 years ago. Last month, I had a nail in a tire which a colleague discussed could have been repaired. Since I cannot and have not ever had another company work on my tires to avoid warranty agreement, I had to rely on Costco employees to make the determination that the tire needed to be replaced. This was last month. My concern was that the new tire would have more tread than the remaining three, thereby causing my other tires to wear faster due to uneven tread ware.

Today I found three tires have a slight leak due to cracking on the walls. The tire center closest to my home closed their tire center, and I now have to drive further to another Costco following my original purchase leading to more expenses in gas. When I took my car to Costco, they informed me three remaining tires need replacement. This entails a 50% expense on my end since the tires were driven 40,000 miles (50% of my 80,000 mile warranty). In addition, within a month, the tires were not longer in stock.

My only option is to purchase tires from a third party, the drive the remaining four tires back to Costco. The only possible way is to either take multiple trips, or transport the tires on my leather seats. This will mean I have to drive to Costco for the diagnosis, then research a provider for new tires, then drive to the provider, wait for replacement, pack the old tires in my two-door car, then drive the old tires back to the Costco finally returning home.

The gas expenses associate with this transaction is large due to high gas prices; in addition to the time this has taken from a workweek in order to replace tires under warranty. I will incur an expense prior to anticipation of a secure product exchange, and will incur excess ware on the fourth tire due to uneven tread ware.

When I purchase tires from a company, especially one as prominent as Costco, I expect the product to survive past warranty. I also expect Costco to act “in good faith” to replace tires that are defective with little or no hassle to me as a consumer. I can only pray you take this endeavor very serious and find a mutually agreed alternative to the current situation as soon as possible. I fear driving on defective tires may lead to issues, or worse case scenario, failure of product.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this issue.

Always a great experience. Love COSTCO. Obviously I often go and end up buying too much, and sometimes the staff isn't the most knowledgeable about electronics, but overall, I can't say enough good about COSTCO.

I recently used the optics department to order 3 pairs of eyeglasses. There was an error and one of the pairs came back mis-matched as normal eyeglasses with my sunglasses lenses. I clearly had stated needed these glasses within 2 weeks of order as I was leaving the country.

The glasses were back in time; however, with the need to fix the mismatched pair, timing was uncertain. Unfortunately, they were unable to get the corrected item back before I had to leave the country.

The question from the optical department manager was simple, "What do you want me to do?" I asked to have my corrected glasses, when they arrived to the Costco to be forwarded to me at my international location.

There was NOT a single question. The glasses were forwarded to me at the address I left with an email sent to give me the tracking number.

The cost to make this forward was nearly the cost of what I paid for the eyewear. Costco ate that cost.

While we would not have been in this situation had the glasses come correctly made the first time, I have to say I am highly impressed with the goods, the original cost and the effort (and cost) Costco went to in order to make me happy and get me my product. They never blinked, fussed or made a fuss; they just got me my glasses in the end.

Costco retains its members at about 85%, that means that most people that become a member of Costco , remain a member for life, so I have to wonder if your content or polls are flawed or at least inaccurate! Costco also has only a 10% turn-over ratio of it's employees. Costco has nearly the best return policy, only(Nordstroms) is better. This is most likely a Sams sponserd website. Good luck with your agenda!

I really like costco. I do agree with the post that said they should have a central contact for rude employees. Most of them are great at my location in Arlington TX, but there is one that is just a horrible *itch. I mean she is always grumpy and if I buy a bottle of wine she wants proof (I am 60!). Everything is an effort with her. I just avoid. But they are always great if I have to return something and I love their prices. I think of the alternative (SAMS) and am very glad they are there!

Reasonable wait. Knowledgeable answer. Thanks.

I live only 3/10ths of a mile from Costco. I buy most of my gas for my 2 cars at Costco. One employee who works at the gas station, in my opinion is extremely efficient, and service oriented. 'Alicia' (last name unknown) is found painting long curbs with red curbs, and at different times of the day, is washing down the units, answers question in a friendly professional manner. She is a good representative of Costco.

On 5/24/12,3:30 pm, I bought products from the 650 Gateway Center Dr,, San Diego Costo store. I went though the checkout and paid for the products I bought. I did not look at my receipt, assuming every thing checked out as usual. Upon leaving the store, the receipt checker at the door,(an African American) male, stated, "Hey Homie you did not pay for the chicken". I replied, "I am not your Homie, please don't call me Homie. He replied, "what do you want to do, make a big scene here? Do you want the chicken or not?". He then grabbed the chicken from my cart.
I replied, "Yes I want the chicken and the regester clerk must of made a mistake when checking me out. I will pay for the chicken."
I was escorted to customer service and paided the chicken. My complaint is the slang word Homie being used in addressing customers. I feel this is not the proper way to address customers, please advise.I have been a loyal customer to Costo for many years and purchase alot of products yearly and never have had any negitive experience, until now.

I just joined costco yesterday and wife and I went to check it out last night-heck I saved the 55 dollars that the member ship card cost in one visit ! I might add they have some of the nicest employees we have ever seen! Too bad they only take american express though.

Laura, who works the customer service desk at the Wilsonville, Oregon warehouse was very helpful today. She listened to me and immediatley took care of a request I had inquired about. Her kindness will make my Mother's Day extra special. I live within walking distance of the warehouse and was one of their first customers. I' ve never had a bad experience at this location. Thanks Laura!! Sherry Karl

Wow! Most of the complaints have to do with rude people and faulty merchandise. I'm a relatively new member (the warehouse opened two years ago) and I have had really good experience shopping there. People are helpful and agreeable, merchandise is good, and I was able to return a defective shopping cart without a problem. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS COSTCO'S POLICY OR PRACTICE OR MOVING MERCHANDISE OVERNIGHT. It's extremely frustrating to have to waste time looking for a item that was in one place the day before, and it's in an entire different section the next day. Not a good business practice. Shoppers was consistency. I want to find merchandise in the same place I saw it the day before. No more HIDE & SEEK, please!

Needed new batteries for my golf cart. After a few phone calls to my local Costco in Hoover ,Al., which is 2 hours from my home and my closest Costco branch,Mr Ron Davenport, the bakery manager came to my rescue.
After many return calls to my home Ron finally tracked down the correct batteries I needed and not only got them to be sent to the Hoover branch but got the branch to now carry inventory on these batteries for the future.

As a side note I have a Sam's location that is 45 minutes closer to me than my Costco branch and they have these deep cycle batteries in their inventory at basically the same cost, but there is no way after all the effort that Mr.Davenport went through to sevice me that I was going to purchase them from anyone else.

Ever notice how people always have time for complaints when something goes wrong but never hardly ever find the time to commend someone on a job well done????
Well here's one,
John B. Glencoe,Al.

COSTCO is now responding to my complaint regarding the dog food. Hopefully this issue gets resolved quickly.

I bought a Sony laptop and am glad that it was from Costco, not Best Buy or Frye's etc. You get an extra year guarantee for free. You get a support sevice "concierge" forever. Not only is the service provided by knowledegeable people-they are American-imagine that! Not only do they answer tech questions, I called and got an answer about Windows 7 useage.

Having been a Costco customer for about twenty years, I was shocked when I read the poor reviews here. While I've only shopped at two Costco stores, all here in Las Vegas, I have never had a bad experience. I've had to return a few items and each time the return was handled in a professional and courteous manner. The checkers/bag people have always been friendly and there has never been an issue. Maybe I'm just lucky or maybe customer attitude has a lot to do with it.

Costco has by far the best customer service experience of any establishment I have used. On a number of occasions, sometimes even months later, I've returned to find items I've purchased cheaper than I paid. Each time I was greeted by a friendly refund of the different- in cash. Fast, friendly, highly recommend.
