On April 8, 2010, I applied for Free Credit Report.com report because they advertised one free report a year and I wanted to buy a house. Little did I know that they had tacked on a 19.95 fee each month unbeknowst to me (It is November now and I just recognized the pattern-I had initially thought it was an Experian charge for freezing and unfreezing my credit--which it was not). I thought free creditreport.com was something the government set up so that we could check our credit once a year and make sure it was ok. With all of the other bad people out there trying to steal our credit and use it for thier own purposes, what chance do we have when the credit agencies themselves are stealing from us? I'm a secretary. $20 a month is a LOT of money to my family and I. Yet we are now helpless because you cannot fight the big credit agencies. Or can you? If there is a class action suit or a lawyer that will help, I would like to know, just out of principle alone. This has nothing to do with their awful customer service either, who talk over you when you try and explain how morally wrong this is. And now I am reading about how many other people they have stolen from and the government is LETTING them. What a sad state our nation has become. God Bless America indeed.

The phone number they give on the website to cancel your membership is disconnected, a quick google search led me here. If you call the 877-481-6826 number and press 3 at the menu, it takes you to a customer service rep.

They tried selling me a 3 bureau report and a discounted membership price before cancelling my membership.

Not worth the $ in my opinion.

hello

this comment is for customer service

hello

I was attempting to attain my free credit report. But, after filling out all of the cells, you asked me for my c/c/ info to charge me something. This proves you most certainly do not offer free credit report. Your very name suggests fraudulent activity. This enrages me that companies like yours think you will continously get away with it. Well, I plan to do what I can. I may only be one person. But, I am pretty sure there have been others as angry as I am and already have written the FCC in washingon. That is what I am going to do after I close my letter to you

good luck and sorry for thesee honnest comments. Perhaps you'll pay more notice before it is too late

They spend so much time and effort advertising that they are free. You fill out the form get to the end and guess what it's not. What a hoax

Second comment: please be awarer that this company is just a DBA for Equifax. Be careful with them; they will try to strong arm you.

Be VERY CAREFUL!
Keep records; take screen shots (and keep them, mark when you called, what number you called from and who you spoke with.

Be prepared to break through thier b.s. hard line stance on refunds.

I tried the freecreditreport.com 7 day free trial in august 2011. I cancelled a couple days after I signed up for the trial. Then they charged me. I called to have them remove the charges and the representative tried to hard line me, saying "the terms and conditions say that it is a non-refundable payment." Well, she was in for a surprise; I took screen shots when I signed up and kept a call record when I closd the account. I also checked my bank statement for the payment. After I informed the lady of this and threatened to sue, she put me on hold for a few minuts. When she returned she informed me that the money had been refunded and the account closed (again).

hello

you should be shut down or at least reported to the FCC (which is what I intend to do. You try to pass yourselves as offering a free credit report. Then you have the nerve to ask for c/c info. to charge somebody something.. As far as I am concerned, you can try that crap with someone else/

thought you needed this honnest comment. (probably a long time ago)

I suggest you wake up quickly and learn some professional ethics

You say that you are free, but everytime I click on something, you want money I don't have. I am trying to rent an apartment and I don't understand all this credit stuff. You have not helped me at all.

Complete SCAM! FRAUD!!!
They make it look like you are going to get a one-month free trial, but it's actually only 9 days. They put this at the bottom of their email in very small font. Also, this company is taking advantage of the fact that everyone gets a free report from the credit agencies each year. It's therefore been under the investigation of FCC. Do no go to this website. it's completely a rip-off!!!

I also called their representatives. They are completely A**holes. It's certainly not a whole lot of money that they got from me, but just think about it, if everyone pays 20 bucks by mistake, they can get a bunch of money from innocent people!!!!

I suggest you get people who speak ENGLISH.
I changed my E-mail addressm from [email protected] to [email protected] I could not understand a word the operator eas saying. I am bring billed $12.95 a month for this service and changed my e-mail.

Need to cancel my subscription to this service immediately. Interesting that you have a problem with people leaving messages with profanity. Think it has to do with the fact that no one ever answers a call at your "customer service" number?

This place is really a scam. They charged the $1 plus an additional $29.95 when the monthly ongoing should only be $19.95. I called and was told that I "clicked" on the left side and bought an additional two reports. NOWHERE did it advise me of this. DO NOT use this company.

DON'T EVER GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION!!!! Triple Advantange is useless. They will take a $1 pre-authorization, but before my 7-day "free trial" ended I was billed $29.90! Where did that number come from? $14.95 a month is the advertised rate. If anything, I was expecting to see $14.95 pending. I called customer care and they could not explain why the money was taken from my account. I immediately cancelled the subscription... The rep said my account was good until the 5th of the following month. So basically they will monitor my credit report but if a change happens, I'll have to pay the $14.95 to pull another credit report!

These people are so dishonorable that I actually cancelled my credit card, and now have to wait to receive a new one, because I do not trust them NOT to charge me again. It seems like they should be criminally charged for fradulently making these unauthorized withdrawals. I did absolutely everything I was instructed to do to cancel my "membership", wrote to the Consumer Relations Group for the refund - no response. Big surprise.

I didn't even know that I had "signed up"...this company is bilking people who fall into their scam of a 'free credit report'. I did, however, charge my Visa account $1.00 to receive an "instant report", the subsequently received billing via Visa of a $24.95 charge (plus the $1.00 charge). I called Visa and they told me another $19.95 was also charged as of 1/1/2011.

And the beat goes on...the representative at this company reads off a script, does not have direct phone # to their home office but finally gave me their FAX #: 949-567-5758
CRG (stands for Customer Relations Group);
P.O. Box 19729, Irvine, CA 92623. What a joke!

I called and cancelled the very same day i signed up for free credit report. I was told that my membership was cancelled. I just received notice from instant alert that my card was charged another $14.95. in less than 3 weeks. do not use these people.

Posted by bunnymonkey4

So I made an account with the understanding that it would only cost me $1 to get a credit report, as long as I called to cancel within 7 days. I called to cancel 2 days later, and there was nothing else from free credit report on my bank statement. I check my bank online a week later, only to find they charged me an additional $25. What the hell?!

I cancelled this when I found out the amount they were going to charge. They said I did not cancel and continued deducting from my bank. They are unethical and ruthless

THis is a complete SCAM!!
They have been charging me even after i cancelled.

Posted by gixxer1000

This is a bunch of BS! I called and cancelled the $14.95 charge. It is still being taking out of my account! DO NOT USE!!!!! IT IS GARBAGE!!!

FREECREDIT REPORT.COM = 100% SCAM!! BUNCH OF BS! I NOTICED A $14.95 CHARGE ON MY CREDIT CARD AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED TO HAVE THEM CREDIT MY ACCOUNT. THEY TOLD ME $14.95 WAS NON-REFUNDABLE. I THEN ASKED FOR THE MAMANGER, HE PUT ME ON HOLD THEN GOT BACK ON THE LINE WITH ME SAYING THE MANAGER APPROVED THE REFUND & TO EXPECT IT WITHIN 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS AND IN 24HRS I WILL RECEIVED PROOF OF CANCELLATION. I'LL SEE IF THAT'S TRUE...IF NOT, MORE TO COME FROM ME!

Posted by KarenR

I called the day I signed up to stop the service since it was not what I was looking for. They have charged over $50.00 to my account!!! Total scam!!! Do not purchase!!!! They will not refund! They'll tell you no record of any previous cancellation call...of course, no record!!! How can they charge you if there's a record of cancellation!!!
