geico sued and got a default judgement against my 17 yr old son for an accident he had in my car. neither him nor i ever received any paperwork on the lawsuit and didnt anything about it till the dmv suspensed his license. he called geico and they said that they sued him after his 18th birthday, one month after his birthday, and that could not give him any other information till he made a $500.00 deposit on the judgement. now its sad that geico has resorted to sue minors.

I am in Palo Alto California, on Sunday July 12th 2015. A peaceful beautiful day has been ruined by a very loud small plane dragging behind an ugly GEICO insurance advertisement. Im appalled by your lack of sensitivity to invade our ability to enjoy the natural sounds of birds singing. I will never consider buying your insurance and will share my concerns on social media.

My daughter wrecked her car February 1, 2015. Today on July 2, 2015, the claim is still not resolved. The adjustor that initially came out estimated everything way too low, so we had to wait a while for them to finally decide that the car was totaled. Then the payoff they came up with was too low, so we had to send proof and sources showing it was too low. Geico also owes us $174 and has been telling us for months that they'll "get that back to us quickly". For some reason, there is only one man handling our case and everyone tells us WE HAVE to speak to him, yet he never answers his phone or texts or messages. We have spoken to his supervisor but it hasn't done any good. I have been with Geico for years, and this is the thanks I get. I'm so ready to change insurance companies!

This is the last place I will ever check for insurance. I simply called for a homeowners insurance quote. A month later I find out that Geico called my bank and performed an UNAUTHORIZED DEBIT FROM MY BANK. Beware of their shady ways of doing business.

Geico will lie to cover their mistakes. Yes their rates are cheaper but the discounts don't cover the fines and penaltys I just paid for their mistake.

I am livid at Geico. I started receiving mail delivered to my home address, addressed to my deceased father who passed away over 2 years ago. I myself have never had a Geico policy in my life. He never lived nor knew about my address! This is completely unacceptable, really Geico??!! I have called already over 8 weeks ago and demanded that they remove my address and mine and his name from their database. I am still getting mail. Called again and screamed at a manager that they better fix this. I am never getting Geico and I am going to tell everyone I know this story as well.

We cancelled Geico because Progressive offered us a better deal. Geico acknowledged that they owed us a refund. Then several days later they took over $90 an account we have specifically for bills. We only keep enough in this account to cover our bills in order to protect ourselves from fraud. This caused us overdraft fees. We called to complain and Geico said that they would refund us. We asked how long they said a week or more because it's up to our financial institution. We asked them to cover our over draft fees. They said that's a whole different set of paperwork we have to fill out. I then called my financial institution and found that Geico lied. My credit union said they will refund me the moment that Geico returns our money. We called Geico to complain again and they told us in a very condescending manner, we have already explained to you this will take up to a week and a half. There is nothing that can speed this up.

A GEICO client slammed into the back of my vehicle. The client and GEICO have acknowledged the client as the at fault party. I have been given the run around for over two weeks with promises of phone calls from the department that handles devalue claims to proceed with a devalue claim on the vehicle. GEICO refuses to provide me with a phone number or name of who to speak with. I am proceeding with filing claims with Consumer Affairs and the Maryland Insurance Administration and legal intervention. This should have been a straightforward claim.

I had a horrible experience recently at a Geico pro shop where my friend got her car fixed. I was with her when she picked her car up. I was shocked at the way not only was her car horribly supposedly "fixed" I'm no expert but could tell parts did not match and the color was off, but honestly what was worse was the way the shop was , I saw and heard managers screaming and yelling at employees calling them names I can't even repeat and using language I wouldn't use on my worst enemy. As a Geico customer as well as my friend I'm glad I experienced this because I now know I will never bring my car to Scottsmans Autobody in Mt. Sinai NY

Even after receiving a changed police report and video of accident showing in my favor, Geico says they are taking responsibility and then proceeds negotiate (50%) to act like a used car salesman when receiving property damage bills. I thought the Serpent was de-legged in Genesis??

My name is Roert R.Irvine I live at I am very angry at your co. The body shop told me your rep ordered cheap after market parts which did not fit our car causing a delay, it's been over 2 weeks, then yesterday your rep said we had to turn rental in a couple days before our car was repaired forcing us to pick up car although not ready. This is not right we are paying for your mistake people will hear about this, trust me!

I had the exact same experience with Geico as everyone else posting here. They deny liability. When that doesn't work, they stall.

I have already contacted an attorney to sue them, not only to perform according to their duty as my insurer, but also for punitive damages for acting in bad faith by denying a compensible claim.

Please join together in filing a CLASS ACTION lawsuit against these thieves. It is our only recourse.

Just wanted to let you know I had the worst experience. I got an quotes for $108.00 for only me, but they said where I was married to C*** that he had 1 ticket last year, and then jump my quote up to almost $140.00. I was insuring me and my auto which we don't share!!! Worst company ever and I will put my story on BBB. Not only did your company send ME an email with a quote, but I too got online for the second time with the same quoted amount. I will stay with KYFB that treats me like a customer, and not like a criminal over a ticket I had nothing to do with, and I wasn't married to him then!

Thanks

I Have Been With Geico Since 1969, My Wife Got A Sppeding Ticket In 2012, Now They Want To Jack Our Rate 250 Dollars. We Sure Droped Them. It Is Unfortunate That Geico Is Allowed To Raise Rates Based On Speeding Ticket Or Bad Credit. I Guess That Is The Only Way They Can Make Money. As Other Insurance Companies Give You Lower Rates To Go With Them.our Ticket Did Not Cost The Company Anything, There Was No Accident.

On 12/20/14 I was rear ended by a Geico Insured in Heber Utah. A police authority appeared at the crash scene. The autority wrote the report and told us a copy would be available in 10 days. 5 days after the crash, Geico was contacting me and my insurance company to subrogate(they wanted me to pay for the insured's inattentiveness). Geico told my insurance agent I caused the crash.
When the police report came available, I called called Geico to ask why Geico could make such an outrageous claim without the Police report. They told me it was based upon what their "Insured" told them. I told Geico that the insured wasn't telling the truth. Shortly after the initial contact, a Geico claims adjuster called me to receive my side of the story. I told the Claims person exactly what was on the police report. The Geico insured was following to closely, and when it came time for me to turn the insured was not paying attention and he hit me. The insured was cited, and given a ticket. A couple of days later I received a call from the Geico Claims adjuster that the accident was determined to be 100% my fault! My jaw hit the floor. I was truly hit by the Geico insured directly from behind. Geico is not only cheating me from repairing my bumper but discrediting the Police authority who wrote the report. Geico straight up disqualified the Police authority who determined the Geico insured was at fault. Good luck to anybody who has to deal with this low integrity organization(Geico). This is the essence of an Organization which operates like this from the top down. To allow this to happen is why anyone should run from this company. They shirk their responsibilty/duty to provide protection for mistakes of their customers. Hello GEICO, you are an insurance company. Buck up and take accountability for that which you say you are!

Sorry; this is long, and may not be written in the best english. I have to write to get this problem out, and I am usually a better writer than this. Please bear with me.

I have been a loyal Geico customer for 3 years since 2011 with no lapse in coverage, and no payment problems and I would like to add a comment about Geico's billing policy. I am active duty military and I have a safe driving record. I like to have insurance because I am required to, and because I do think that not having insurance is like playing a crap shoot. Here in our state, I have taken advantage of the windshield repair which has saved me quite alot of money. I however, dont need extra things some insurance companies offer at the moment, like loan/lease payoff, of rental car reimbursement (I have 2 fucntioning vehicles. If one is broken, I can rent my other. If they both have the unfortunate luck of being down, then I hope to rely on other methods. ). Having other coverages is always a luxury, but most people will just pay for what is needed.

I have run on hard times. I have recently retired, so therefore my cash flow has been decreased. I have not found employment yet, and I am a graduate student. My needs have changed and although I still retain my 2 very nice vehicles, I don't need and can not afford to carry the full package I was carrying previously. Its not to say I wont in the future, I just can not afford to do so now.

I ran into hard times and had to let my insurance lapse. Because I did not have adequate funds, I could not afford to continue to pay. I was in no position to continue to pay the higher and fuller premiums I had paid previously. I also could not afford to enroll in the auto bill pay program, which would take money away from my account, while I am trying to manage my account balances manually.

I called GEICO on Jan 1 to restart my coverage. I had a minor parking lot accident in October 2013, which was my fault, but was categorized as an accident incident less than 1000$. I understand that would increase my premiums and I fully take responsibility to pay more, even though that is the sole reason people have insurance.

When I called to restart my coverage, I prefaced my request with the request of finding an option to save money. I said I hadn't paid because I ran on hard times. I would think the agent would have listened, but instead she quoted me a ridiculous price of 1800$ for 6 months for two vehicles. 6 months prior and before the accident, I paid 1100$ for a 6 month policy. I understand (although I and many people think the insurance companies are still making alot of money and think the raising of rates is inconsistent with the reason people have insurance in the first place, which is to pay when they have a problem) that the policy was increased almost 300$ for the accident. Its a hard pill to swallow but I accept that.

My problem lies within the fact that the agent didn't look at my previous bills, didn't ask did I need to change coverage, didn't ask or want to take into consideration why I had lapsed, and did not offer me the chance to make my coverage cheaper should I be interested. I didn't take note at first. After I reiterated to the agent I needed to have a lower monthly insurance bill, she finally offered to discuss changing options on the premium. She came up with the next offer of 1680$ for 6 months with the auto pay option of 400+ dollars and the non auto bill pay option of over 500$ for a 6 month policy.

I told her that the reason I couldn't pay was because the bill was too high, and her offers where not even in the ballpark of being able to let me be successful in paying insurance.

After bantering, she was able to "lower" my premium to 1500$ for 6 months. I hung up feeling very dissatisfied and started to check competing quotes. To my surprise, PROGRESSIVE actually gave me a cheaper quote even after I listed my accident. Their NAME YOUR PRICE TOOL was very helpful in letting me see which coverages I could get, what the prices where, and I could edit all portions and options to see how I could lower the bill.

PROGRESSIVE gave a basic standard price, which for our state, the minimums where still illegal and too little for the required insurance to be carried here. They also offered a standard, and a suggested carrying price. The best part was that they offered to name your price, as to what the customer wanted to pay at inception of the policy, and what the customer is willing to pay within their means and budget as a monthly installment. After I researched what our state requires and found that the basic would not be enough, I found a decent quote of 1120$ for a 6 month premium. PROGRESSIVE would have allowed me to pay 108$ as a starting payment and 210$ as a monthly payment. I almost decided to switch. I do have company loyalty, and decided I would call GEICO back to see if they were able to price match.

I called GEICO back a total of 3 times and spoke to different agents. I received various offers but the quotes never reached the quoted price of PROGRESSIVE. In fact, I waited until the evening and called GEICO back for the last time.

I spoke to another agent, who seemed to conveniently not be able to find the last quote of 1299$ for a six month premium with a 269$ a month auto bill pay amount and a 420$ non auto bill pay (she explained I would be charged more for the first month, but the last month I would be charged less.)

(BTW, I think its quite convenient that most companies will PENALIZE YOU for not taking the auto bill pay option and will make it harder, and will even charge you more if you do not take this option. I DO NOT LIKE THE AUTO BILL PAY OPTION because, for one, I am managing my accounts literally by the minute and I am balancing my accounts by hand, for two, I don't think companies should have free access to my account to take monies out even if on an assigned date, and three, if I am struggling for money, I need to be able to pay when I have the means, which may be on a different assigned date than the automatic billing cycle will choose for me).

As a result of the last call to GEICO, I was able to get the agent to tailor the policy enough to meet a monthly price I could afford and a inception price I could afford to pay without the option of auto billing. However, if I did not ask, I would have NEVER been offered the option to lower my premiums to be able to pay something within my budget SO I COULD PAY, and be successful at paying and retaining insurance.

In our state, if you do not carry insurance, your registrations will be revoked, and they can continue to place hardships on you like revoking your license and making you pay penalties.

All in all, I write this review because although I think GEICO has given me good service for broken windshields and for the other things I have called the for, when it comes to billing, I have found they are lacking in two areas.

In my last billing cycle, when I took my self off auto bill pay, they assessed more money for me to pay and my bill increased almost 20 dollars monthly. Also, my rate of payment changed from monthly to a payment being due every 18 days. When I lost coverage, I was still billed a 10$ closing fee which they almost took me collections for. As I started this process to restart my insurance and carry insurance like I know to do to be a good citizen and to be within regulations and state requirements, but I REQUESTED to have a lower payment, I found GEICO was very difficult to work with.

Bottom line: 6 phone calls later I barely got the price I could manage. If GEICO will raise my rate on the next cycle or not work with me on payments during this cycle as I have already explained that I am unemployed and having a hard time paying all my bills, I may happily SWICTH to PROGRESSIVE.

I believe the billing portion of GEICO's policies are almost un-navigatable. Customers have no options to make their own price on their website, customers have no option to see a bill if their policy has lapsed and cannot look at Geico's site to change their policy to meet their budget should they be having problems.

I am not trying to tell GEICO to mirror PROGRESSIVE but maybe, GEICO can create they own type of NAME YOUR PRICE TOOL. It sure would have been helpful as I was trying to make a price that I could afford and adhering to state requirements and regulations like a good citizen. If I would have not asked GEICO, I would have been stuck paying a bill which would have been nearly impossible for me to manage during this point in my life. It would have made paying other bills just as unsuccessful and I don't think GEICO's policy to not look over a policy and see where the customer can save or even change policies to lower options to meet budget constraints is very feasible to keep my business in the future.

policy owner hit my car and was cited for accident geico agent said since car dont belong to him they would not take claim or pay for damage...

Had an accident on a Saturday. Adjuster didn't go out until the next Friday. Acted as though she was doing me a favor then. The company is refusing to restore my vehicle to the original condition -- instead authorizing the use of after market parts. The claims reps and agents have been rude and not helpful. Not a service oriented company. DO NOT CONTINUE TO USE GEICO!!

My wife had a accident three weeks ago and not only have they not approved her pain medication that have delayed physical therapy. Our policy state we don't need pre-certification within ten days of accident but service representatives say we do. And still not approved, first they say a digit was missing from the claim number, then they said the prescription was written wrong. This is ridiculous. When we call we get the runaround or voice mail. I have a feeling that they won't pay the emergency room bill either! I've been a customer for over 20 years, not for long.

I have been a customer for over 30 years and I have never seen such terrible service as your customers get in Panama City ,FL Your Geico. customers wait in line while the employee's talk on the phone, sit at their window closed desk and just plain treat customers like we will wait on you when we want to and if you don't pay we will just cancel your insurance. you need a new manager there ASAP.
I am sure other insurance company's may want my money.

I filed a claim with GEICO after being with them for 1 1/2 years.First time needing them for anything.. I filed needing to replace my front windshield. I requested an OEM windshield. OEE windshields are notorious for having a multitude of issues.I did the research and spoke to people. I also have had my own experiences with having an automobile accident with my head hitting the windshield so I know first hand the importance of a strong, safe glass.Google OEM versus OEE windshields if you don't believe me.. It's just too much to include in here but OEE windshields don't always keep you safe. They are notorious for having issues as well. My claim was denied twice for OEM windshield. I was told if I wanted an OEM windshield they would contribute 250.00 towards the 1100.00?? It costs to replace.Leaving me with the balance..wth!! If I wanted the OEE windshield I would just pay the 100.00 deductible. What the heck do I pay my premiums every month..on time and in full? I do not want to stay with a company that puts profit over safety. My safety and that of my children trump their bottom dollar. I recommend based on my dealings with GEICO that If you want a company that values it's customers and puts safety before profit you not do business with them. So very disappointed in the way they choose to handle my claim. I have no points,no accidents,no other claims and am not a young driver. I'm the perfect customer. Don't suppose anyone has any ideas of where to switch to? Looking to leave GEICO next month.. I live in the DMV area.
