Our visit to the Marshalls Springfield (VA) Center store w'ase to return two wooden garden chairs in response to a recall of said items. The options were to take pictures of the chairs and email them through an address provided OR return them to the store for a refund. We opted to return them to the store. We were met with an inept, rude manager Doreen who did not believe the recall claim, even after we showed her the recall notification that was conspicuously posted on her store's entry glass door. As a manager Doreen was arrogant, lacked any critical thinking capability to address our issue and resorted to defensiveness, rudeness, disrespect and a verbal exchange with us customers in need of her help. It was a very stressful, embarrassing and highly frustrating encounter. She needs more customer service training and tone her terrible attitude down a notch.

Posted by Discriminated against disability

This was at the Norwalk, CT Marshall's location. I was treated absolutely disgusting by a specific worker. A store employee named Brianna was working the fitting rooms Tuesday 8/3 (around 8:30PM). When I had asked for a handicap fitting room I was told that it is "reserved for mother's with a stroller." The conversation by the employee started to become inappropriate. I told her that I have a disability and have the right to the room. She then continued berating me and my disability, looking at me up and down and then asking "what's wrong with you? What disability do you have?" This was completely unacceptable and this should have never happened. I was discriminated against because of my disability and denied the right to a simple accommodation of having access to the handicap fitting room. Under the Americans with disabilities act, I am allowed the same opportunities as anyone else and I do not have to disclose my personal disability. Marshall's, do better.

I'm writing this because I witnessed poor treatment of a sales associate by management at the front desk the management associates name was kareena she was treating associate as if they were under her associate was doing their job and being told to stop waiting on customers when there was a line

This is bull, I wanted to return something but they didn't let me because I didn't have the card I purchased it with and I had my receipt

Posted by S-ri

Please explain to me why would you have an option at checkout where it said receipt "email only" then you go home try the clothes on realize they don't fit you and you go searching through your email for the receipt and it's no where! I went back to the store to return the items and was told I couldn't return without a receipt. Which I never got through email. So to prove the lady I purchased something I needed and once again put email receipt and still didn't get it while
Waiting with the cashier at checkout

The whole Homegoods garden section is full of statues from
Asia, nothing from the American culture. There are no angels,
gnome etc All other garden statues, like animals and such, are
made in poor taste.

Who is the buyer-marketing person for all the Marshall stores?
Needs to be fired

Never have I been treated so rudely as I was in Marshalls in Huntington Park today! I was comparing a hair spray on sale clearance with 1 at reg price ! 1st I sprayed to see if nozzel worked when an employee walked to me n made sure I saw her looking then I take both to a mirror n spray reg price on 1 side 1 spray n clearance on other side Once she walked over as if I had torn open a package or stole something n in front of customers scolded me ! I spend easily $100 a wk at Marshalls and so I followed her bk to ask why did u walk away she was buissy laughing wt a co worker who pointed at me and who turned around to say she's the manager both laughed both rude they didn't care what I had to say n I left my shopping cart full n left ! I think it may have been discrimination along wt rudeness because there was no reason after I explained fr them to be so rude or to yell outi front of customers

Love Marshall's but try to avoid the loud guy who yaks on and on about getting their credit card, He talks in baby talk ... oh honey , I can save you 6 dollars really! He's annoying and I have to hear it no matter where you are in the store! This guy is loud and obnoxious! If he's not there it's a good day! No means no... just saying?

I had to return a lot of clothes today.. 376.87 which I had paid cash for. No dressing room and was feeling sad about Covid weight gain I decided to return and lose weight, my cashier was very nice and sympathetic while I was feeling down, then when it came time to give me money it was early and she didn't have enough cash in her drawer. She had to call two supervisors, the second one a big blond woman came and treated the cashier rudly acting like my return was wrong. I felt so bad I told the lady I thought she was rude to the cashier just trying to do her job... she was still rude and didn't say anything nice to the lady at the register, she shoujd not be in a management position! Very rude, I felt bad all day

We take back everything with a receipt and tags. You get a store credit over 30 days or no receipt.

what happened to your shoe department? Wrong move changing it with less selection. The whole set up is negative for a store that is flourishing. Poor move on corporate. Change it back.

I hate their policies. I have so many unused items. Never worn with tags and Marshall's stickers that I never got back in time and assumed I only had 30 days. I also have been told many times that without a receipt I could not return the item. What so ever. Not even for a store credit and having the original card I purchased it with. It has even happened with items I know were purchased after I started having them email me my receipts! On only one occasion they told me I could exchange the item but only if I found the exact same item and I was purchasing a different size?? In my own experience. They absolutely try to never give credit for anything without receipts and within 30 days. After reading this it seems they must tell their employees to deny them. I've had this problem at many stores. I love their prices but especially now where we can't try anything on. All stores need to at the very least follow the crappy policy they have in effect. Most times I never actually return things but knowing I can makes me go ahead and make purchases. They would probably make more with a better consistent policy!

Marshalls return policies are the worst! I bought a pet bed. Cat wouldn't use it. Returned 2 days after purchase, with tags still on it and receipt. They would not return it because of covid. I was not told sale was final at purchase. Nowhere on the receipt did it say that. It clearly said 30 days with receipt! They lost a customer. I will get my things on Amazon and I won't even have to leave my house.

I purchased 4 pairs of winter boots online and one pair just wasn't what I expected so I took them back. I had lost my receipt and looked at the return policy that stated without receipt you will get store credit. Okay that's fine with me so I drove one hour to Wilkes-Barre, Pa with the unworn new boots still in box with Marshalls sticker on them. They really gave me a hard time. Saying I have to get the receipt. The cashier got her manager who was rude when I told her I read Marshalls return policy today before I drove here and it stated without a receipt a store credit would be issued as long as the item is not worn and tags are on. She told me that is very unlikely. I boldly said I just read it. She finally gave me a store gift card. She made me feel like she thought I made it up. I will not shop there from now on. No reason for this treatment as the boots where in perfect condition still wrapped in the factory paper and in the box with Marshall sticker.

I purchase a Colehaan tote from Marshall's located at 5000 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77056. The tote was too big as an everyday bag so I returned it the next day at the Marshall's located at 5760 Hollister St, Houston, TX 77040. They said they can not accept the return because they can not verify the item. What does that even mean? What are they matching it with? Marshalls need to update/upgrade their verification process and system because this does not work. You might as well say you do not accept returns at all.

I love shopping at Marshall's, TJMaxx and Home Goods, but what I do have a problem with is going to shop and having deal with people pets. I visited the store on Germantown Pkwy in Cordorva today and there was a young lady there with a Large Poodle. I tried shopping, but due to my fear of animals, I left the store and decided not to shop. Yes, I do know that some people need service dogs and can't change that, but because I feel it's ok to take my pet everywhere I go is not fare to people that have a fear of animals. Further more I do not want to purchase items that animal have been brushing up against, sniffling on or druling on.

Placed an online order on 9/30/2020. It is 11/02/2020 & still have yet to receive my items.. customer service tells me they can't do anything because it is too far into processing, but I've been told that each time I've called. Manager said the same thing. First time ordering from Marshall's & will never again.

Marshall's has the worst return policy in the world. Three days ago, I went to the store to change a romper. The receipt was within 30 days, the clothes were new, with tags and never wore it. The change was made correctly and I bought a dress. Since the pandemic, there's a policy of not being able to use the fitting rooms. I bought the dress and trying it on at home, I didn't like it. I went to change it today and I tried one last time with another dress, but to make the change, the cashier asked me for the card with that I bought the dress three days ago, on the receipt clearly the number reflected is mine, but she said that it wasn't and there were three possible reflected cards with which the dress was bought and mine wasn't. She gave me a card number that I didn't recognize at all but is the card used for the purchase, so she put the credit on my mother's TJ Maxx card (she was with me) and see if it was the card that reflected the dress purchase. I have no idea why she did it. She simply had to adjust the credit for the dress I was going to return for the new one I wanted to buy and I paid the difference or put the credit on a gift card for pay for the dress but she was so spoiled that she placed the credit where she preferred. I didn't understand the process she did, it never happened to me. If I wanted the credit and I didn't have the card or the receipt with me, they should have offered me a gift card for me to use later. It's my money and they have to find a way to give me credit for the return. She doesn't like her work, she was incompetent for not asking for help or she was trying to give me a bad moment. This Marshall's is in Puerto Rico.

Yesterday shopped local Marshall's. Purchased cologne and a few chew toys for dogs. When I get home I find only chew toys for dogs in Marshall's bag, but no cologne. The cashier must of made a mistake and not put the bottle of cologne in my bag with chew toys: Never had this happen to me before shopping at any store in my life. Going to go back to the store tomorrow, but if I can't make it I will call and explain the situation. Hoping my item will be waiting for me with cashiers being that I paid for it, but never received it after cashier removed the anti-theft device. It's a strange or random situation being I paid, have a receipt, but never received the cologne I paid for. Interested to find out how Marshall's will handle this. All I want is what I paid for and I am hoping the bottle of cologne is waiting for me at the cashier stand. Hoping for an easy fix for this what is hopefully a misunderstanding. Anyone else ever have this happened to them? Was fixated on the receipt upon exiting the store. First time I have ever experienced such a thing.

I bought online at Marshall's and went to return they told me I could not get a credit on my credit card and could only give me cash back because they "changed their system". I was very annoyed.

I'm very upset. I've been a loyal customer since the 1980s. Today I was returning a shirt at Marshall's in Phoenix AZ. I had the receipt and tags and it was within 30 days. The cashier was obviously new and a little unsure of herself. That's fine, but she wasn't the friendliest. She asked if there was anything wrong with the shirt. I could've said no, and now wish I had. But instead I was honest and said yes there is because when I washed it, it fell apart and I showed her where. She said I don't think we return washed items. I said it's defective so yes you do. She went and got her manager, who was very rude and told me I couldn't return it. I also had $250 worth in my cart that I was going to purchase, But that didn't matter. Nothing mattered. It didn't matter that it wasn't in the receipt or posted anywhere that defective items could not be returned or that washed items could not be returned. I then asked for her manager. He asked me no questions and just said NO. I was pissed! Then he pulled the "I'll do it just this one time". I've returned defective items before. I've never been treated badly at Marshall's. But this Marshall's was not my usual Marshalls. This one is at Colonade Mall 20th St and Camelback in Phoenix. I may never go back to any Marshalls after today. I hope you set this store straight.

The item I bought recently did not uccepted in the store. It is ridiculous. I was able to return for store credit before, now they said the item is not in the system. Seriously.......In the return policy it doesn't say the item has to be in your system. It has your tag. You just must do whatever is written in your policy.

Why is it that I can't return a blow drier that I purchased 3 days ago because it doesn't have enough power for what I need it for. The counter told me I can't return because it's a product. Excuse me but it's not a product it's an appliance. I'm a license cosmetologist in the state of N.J. Iam at your Hackettstown Store in N.J. Please inform your employees .. Thanks!
