I had a brand new 2011 GMC Terrain. Onstar malfunctioned and caused the car to malfunction. The dealer was wonderful and tried repeatedly to fix it. I told them I was done. I upgraded to a fully loaded 2012 Terrain and a significant discount. I just got the car back this morning after the 4th fix since November and onstar is still not working correctly-GM replaced the VCRM (Very Cranky Rotten Machine) module and gave it back to me. A week later they got it back again and replaced the entire radio/navigation module. It is still sending me to the middle of the ocean. I hope GM and onstar are not supplying our military. But...I do love my dealer for outstanding service. I am thinking that a deluxe GPS may work better. But, when onstar does work it is great. The regular onstar people are great (all speak perfect english) but the higher level people were idiots. Just goes to prove there are less brains the higher you go on the food chain.

I am so thankful for ON Star. My husband as he ages is having problems remembering routes even in our town, He left one morning and three hours later had not returned. I called local law enforcement and told them we had on star in vehicle and they contaced you and he must have been told to move over to side of road. He had traveled over 70 miles in the wrong direction. Deputies there located him with your help and called me to come and get him. I am afraid to imagine what could have happened if not for On Star

I just bought a new 2012 Malibu and continued the service of On Star. In my previous cars I had On Star but never had the turn by turn navagation added. It's the greatest tool Ihave ever added to the car. The first day I drove to a area that I needed help. On Star is fabulous and I would not have a car without it. I have never had to wait for service and can't ever seeing driving my cars without On Star.

Outstanding!
I got locked out of my car for the first time ever. I made one call to the service and my car was unlocked within seconds!
I was very thankful and will always keep this serice active- great job CSR!

Fantastic service! Wouldn't be without it! I found out that OnStar updated their system two weeks ago, so it has been slow in response for activation calls and directions, but now everything seems to be running smoothly. I guess with any new system there will be a few bumps, no service is perfect! As for emergency services, it is not the same line as the activation line, so there will be no delay for emergencies. I have had OnStar for 5 years and love it!

My OnStar experience(s) have been primarily favorable since 4-2010, however, there have been a few cases in which I really needed the service only to find them "having technical difficulties". On one such trip I had 5 pre-programmed destinations plugged into my OnStar and it could not produce ANY of them . . "technical difficulties". When I tried giving them locations via a real live rep., they could not complete anything because they could not "find" my vehicle. That made me wonder just how effective their emergency service is in the event of crash, etc. if they have "trouble" finding my vehicle on an open highway in northern MN. Today I am trying to log a destination into my OnStar and can't get it done; consistently "technical problems". I will consider dropping the service when it comes time for renewal. I wonder if OnStar monitors all the negative comments submitted to this site? I have submitted complaints directly to their site but have never gotten any acknowledgement from them.

I love Onstar. This is the best thing since sliced bread. All these people that are unhappy are just the type of people you can't please no matter what you do. I have had no problems. When my six months is up. I will subscibe.

I have had OnStar for a number of years and with the exception of making some changes back a few years ago, have found the service excellent. While driving near our Florida winter home I noticed a vehicle engulfed in flames. I called OnStar and within three minutes fire and rescue were at the scene of the fire. A couple of times I called for directions to get to locations and found the service offered was pretty good.
I do make a lot of calls and obviously do not use my cellphone while driving, even though I do have an earpiece for hands free calling. The calls are clear and it is safer to use this service than any other available calling services. All in all, I am pleased with OnStar.

I would like to thank Angela for helping me this morning. My husband David and I were at odds about our minutes expiring and we are new on star customers and did not know we had to purchase minutes separately. I thank Angela for being patient and walking us through the price selections and how to do it in the future. We are senior citizens and this is a real challenge to us. We love onstar and will continue the services. Thanks again.

We have the calling feature. my fiance called me on it cause her phone was dead then are time ran out. shortly before that she said she was falling asleep. i was panicing. we had no communication at all. i called onstar and they tracked me to her and let me talk to her and make sure she was safe. thank you onstar

OnStar helped save our 89 yr old mother! Our mother left on a trip that should have had her at her destination in 8 hrs, 10 at the very max. When my sister called me 13 hours after mom left home to report that she had not arrived we became very concerned. My sister started calling Provincial Police while my husband suggested that I call OnStar. OnStar was able to connect with my mother and patched me through so that I could talk with her. Sure enough, she was lost and almost 2 hours beyond her destination in unfamiliar surroundings. As it was very late at night Linda, from OnStar was able to guide our mother to a motel where she could spend the night. Linda would have to disconnect from me in order to update locations and assist mom on what to do. Linda would then call me back and let me continue to talk to mom to make sure she understood what was going on. I cannot imagine how we would have handled this without OnStar. Linda understood our concern for mom and was very compassionate. She even stayed online while mom made sure that the motel had a room available and got settled. Mom's cell phone had died so she was completely desperate.
We cannot thank OnStar enough for the assistance they provided our mother and for the relief we had knowing our mom was safe. A piece of advice however, make sure you and your loved ones know how to use OnStar in an emergency! We will never be without OnStar now.

Thanks OnStar! My daughter managed to push the right combination of buttons to lock the keys in the car (in the ignition). I called OnStar and the gentleman was great, my car was unlocked in a matter of minutes!! Thanks again!

I would like to commend your staff for assisting me yesterday. I had reported my car keys stolen.

They were absolutely wonderful. Also, the towing company, botoh were truly professional and very courteous and caring.

As soon, as the tow truck arrived, a co-worker found my keys.

The driver of the tow truck (Cobra Towing) was terrific...what else could I say, that he was terrific.

On Tuesday July 26th around 11 am a friend and I were shopping in Indianapolis Indiana when she became disoriented and confused. She did not remember where we were or why we were there. Realizing I needed medical help for her I called Onstar. I cannot recall the gentlemans name that answered and directed us to the nearest hospital but he was wonderful. We were in an unfamiliar area and I had no idea how to find medical help.
He guided me calmly through road construction and interminally long stop signs to the hospital emergency room. He even called ahead to St. Vincents Hospital to alert them that we were on our way. I was so panic stricken and he helped me to stay calm until I could get help for my friend.
Thanks to his professional calm manner she received medical help immediately and is now recovering at home.
Your service is invaluable. If it is possible to determine the staff person who helped us please give him my heartfelt thanks.

My wifes office just moved to a downtown location in a less than desirble area. She had many thing to take out of her car and carry in, about 3 hours later she discovered she may have left her keys in the car unlocked, she returned to a locked car, contacted ONSTAR and had the car unlocked and her keys within 1 minute. What a great feature thanks ONSTAR !!

Dear OnStar - I am the owner of a 2008 Chevy Tahoe and have been a subscriber of OnStar since I began ownership of this vehicle. Usually I only use it for turn-by-turn navigational assistance. But recently, on a vacation with my 2 children, my bearings went bad on my front passenger tire and therefore it rendered my Tahoe undriveable. We immediately contacted our other travel club affiliation and were told they would charge $4 per mile for towing assistance to the nearest chevy dealer. While I was speaking with them, my 19 year old daughter contacted OnStar vehicle assistance. Let me tell you that we were INCREDIBLY pleased with our OnStar service! The operator asked if we were somewhere we felt safe, and if not, OnStar would send someone to stay with us until our tow truck arrived. Not only did they continue to check back with us about every 20-30 minutes to make sure we were okay and update us on the tow truck's whereabouts, the tow, which was about 35 miles away cost me NOTHING! And thankfully to John Rector Motors in Marshall, MO, our car was repaired for NOTHING as well as it was covered under our 100,000 mile power train warranty. The tow truck left the Tahoe for repair, I left the key on the front seat of the vehicle and locked it. The next morning I called OnStar from yet another 30 miles away and had them unlock the car for repair service.

The OnStar Service was amazing, the tow was prompt (considering we had trouble on the 4th of July!) and our vehicle was repaired within two hours of the dealership opening so we could be on our way. I originally had to talk my husband into letting me keep the OnStar service after the trial period because of the cost. But now, considering the way we were cared for in this experience, he said he is more than happy to pay this to make sure his family is taken care of when he is not with us.
Thank you for providing us with such excellent service. We are VERY happy OnStar customers!!!!!

I've had OnStar in two vehicles going back to 2006. Fantastic. I think in 5 years, they have gotten me lost three times; but the problem was resolved to my complete satisfaction.

My fiance's dog just locked her out of my truck, 45 miles away, on star had it unlocked in less than 2 min. Very impressed..... The gal didnt sound foriegn to me either.....

Wow! Totally impressed! My husband locked himself out of our GMC at a gas station out of town on the way to a SF Giants game....Lord help us.....In a panic, called me, and I simply called ON STAR for the quick unlock of the doors.....it was done within less than a minute. Needless to say, he was so happy and absolutly amazed that the service was overwith. He will now NOT be late for the game. Thank you ON STAR. You are the BEST.

I love my On Star - It gives me peace of mind on the road or when my kids take the car out I know they can always reach help if needed. Only problem - On star has a real problem understanding my voice.
