I have been trying to reach Customer Service to advise them that my credit card was "swallowed" by an ATM - I therefore cannot pay may account. I require an English speaking and understanding member of staff to note this. Payment will be made when I obtain the new card.

Concerning Reader's Digest Condensed Books. What genius decided that after 65 years to make the Reader's Digest Condensed books an inch taller than the old ones? And what upper management genius allowed this to happen? I have a complete collection of Raeder's Digest Condensed books, all on shelves, and now I get one an inch taller than all the other 65 years. Thank you so very much, idiots!

On November 20, 2014 I received a mail asking to complete certain formalities to complete a Sweepstakes contest, which I had completed with an online payment of Rs. 549/- to make me eligible for the contest. The address given for this transaction was my residential one.

On 8th January I received another mail saying that my transaction was incomplete and complete the procedure. To this I had opted for cash on delivery and address given was of my office.

Accordingly after 2 / 3 days, I received a courier at my residence. On the same day in my office I received another delivery i.e. cash on delivery and paid Rs.579/-.

On 16.01.2015 again I received a call from the delivery man that a courier from India Today i.e. cash on delivery i.e. the payment to be made was Rs. 579/-.

Kindly advise, what is to be done?

I had written to customersupport, No response has been received.

Whatever makes you think a refund CARD is easier than a check? I wasted valuable time, first activating the card, and then trying to use it. The cashiers at both Walmart and K-Mart did not process it properly and after numerous tries, the card was charged 75 cents for each try. I lost $4.50 of it's value for nothing. The 'simple process' sucks.

I really hate the reader digest. I never order anything but keep on send me reminder to pay the money. What the stupid is it. Where can force someone to pay the money without ordering anything from them. I totally not interested at all in magazine !!!!!! It really make me irritated! !!!!!

Posted by Collette

Since I have read others comments I have decided that you can keep your magazine and my money. I am so disappointed in you, and your treatment of your customers.
I will never recommend you to anyone, and if asked I will be honest and tell them to NOT get your magazine.

I don't know if this is the right place for my comment, but here goes. I HAVE NOT received my digest since I ordered it on 11/25/14, paid in full ck#1380, I would like to know why I HAVE NOT received anything. If you don't want me to have it then REFUND my MONEY ASAP, it isn't right for you to take money and NOT give the product to the buyer. What is going on? I used to get the digest, and would like very much to have it again.

Readers digest sent a gift to me and charged INR 549/- to me as courier charges.

My parents took it in my absence thinking it is something important.

our family has been receiving R.D. for a very long time paying $36.00 a year. My wife went on line and found out that she could get a 2 year subscription for $34.00.Is this fair, I would like to get half the money we paid back.

Posted by Nightmare if you go for prepaid

After paying for a new annual subscription, the nightmare begins with pretty irregular receipt of RD copies, time & again phone calls & emails sent to customer care, every time lame excuses, reality is harsh

Payment Made - May 2014. Subscription To Start Within 4-6 Weeks. Long Correspondence. Now Sept.12. 1st Copy Not Received Till Date Despite Several, Profuse Apologies And Assurances. Really Pathetic (dis) Service.

I have ordered a book from RD but when it delivered, the box is broken. Naturally I refuse to pay such item and told it to collect back. The RD sent a few payment reminders and ignored my request to cancel the order. The recently reminder I received with threaten manner, to send a debt collector.. I will definitely to lodge a police report if it harasses me. Such spam manner is make me sick and I will not hesitate to lodge report if I receive RD spam mails & letters again.

In my opinion,Reader's Digest Singapore Sweepstakes chaired by Ms A. Maddock is using high pressure sales tactics and misleading advertisments to persuade its customers in Singapore to buy many direct sales products throughout the year just that they COULD be the Elite Winner of the $250,000 sweepstakes. So you go on spending money to buy their products and hope to win something. Instead of buying RD products, I realised that it is better for me to use my money to buy Spore Pools Toto or Big Sweep Lottery where I could win 1 to $2 million dollars instead of being assured by Readers Digest Sweestakes Chairman and I could win $250,000. Sometimes common sense is not so common!

Hello at Reader's Digest.

My wife and I are avid readers of Readers Digest Magazine; we also have over time purchased many, many Book and DVD's and CD's.
This is not an idol email.
We were excited to read the offer NEW ZEALAND from ABOVE, however I have noticed a mistake. The bottom picture on the inside full spread page, READS Lake Wakaitipu, Queentowns, SHOULD READ - QUEENSTOWN.
Now, for sharing this little error, on such a fabulous document, ia surely worth a copy of the DVD. I'll leave it to your generosity. By the way, this is shared between you and me in confidence. Very best regards Douglas Hamilton Australia.

Today, received a 'Seriously Overdue Account' to pay S$99.00 RD magazine subscription, in spite of informing RD via their self-addressed envelopes, that I was cancelling my subscription with immediate effect 4 December 2013. Later received a Reminder of 'Overdue Account' from Ms. Alicia Ng. Again, I sent a Registered Mail to RD with attached documents of my Cancellation. RD seems to ignore all the documents I sent to inform of the Cancellation of the Magazine Subscription, but prefer to continue to 'harass' for payment. Today, I received a Reminder of 'Seriously Overdue Account' from the Finance Director, What is happening to Reader's Digest's Customer Service Standard, especially RD showing the face of Ser-Ing Ting smiling with the Caption: "We care about you!" REALLY???

My Mom passed in April of this year, I am the Executrix, and part of that responsibility is cancelling subscriptions and requesting refunds. I was SO misled by customer support, that putting the refund on a card rather than sending a check was much more convenient for me. Balderdash! I received the card today - for a FIVE dollar refund, and here's what I had to do to get the FIVE dollars into the estate: Go on the bank issuers website, create an account complete with password and three security questions, try to figure out how to get this FIVE dollars to the estate account; had to call banks customer service which said I could take the card to any bank to get the refund but it would cost me a FIVE dollar cash advance fee, take it to any store and make a purchase - illegal for executrix to spend money on themselves from estate, or go on newly created account and request a transfer for only a 50 cent fee and I would receive it in 3 - 5 business days. EASIER for ME? Took me 45 minutes to figure out how to get this money into the estate account AND cost the estate a fee. I will tell anyone who wants to listen to me what Readers Digest customer support put me through today, and I will NEVER do business with the magazine again!

Makes me so upset and sad.

I paid for a gift subscription for my sister-in-law back in November and now I am getting additional renewal notices!! Knock it off....we get enough junk mail. I am also disappointed that the RD is only about half as thick as it used to be and has way too much advertising...that's why I've dropped all my subscriptions...I hate paying for 75% ads....
