Do Very Little Shopping At Safeway Anymore Due To There Digital Very Poor Program.

I wrote a review on 2 employees who are extremely rude to me whenever I go in the store I've been shopping here for 6 years as it's 0.5 mikes from my house. Well about 1 month later I just finished shopping as I was putting my groceries away the 2 emoloyee who I had wrote the review on followed me to my car and tild me if I ever come back to this store again they will call the police!! I said for what I've been coming here for years not to mention I did work at that store for a year they said I was a problem customer! I told them you treat me horrible and I'm the problem, well I've been calling corporate trying to get this resolved. We had people who shoplift at the store and they came back after 6 months. Any ideas on what to do
The Safeway store (2917) in Brighton, CO has gone downhill terribly! First of all, the outside and lobby are Filthy! So, so dirty! I needed to use the restroom but the smell was so bad, I turned around and walked away! And this was near the produce department. I did not buy any produce? They didn't have any of the advertised items that were supposed to be on special. There were lots of empty shelves marked wine. And the four employees that I did see, were not friendly or even happy. Zombies have friendly expressions! I'm not planning to go back there.
As an Instacart shopper, I spend a lot of time in stores throughout the bay area. The worst customer service consistently comes from the Safeway on fifth Street in Alameda. Every time I walk into this location, I walk out wanting to cry from frustration. I understand that being Front of house is a hard job, so I always try to be extra nice to anyone that helps me. But everytime i am met with such an attitude, with belittling remarks. Maybe there's something going on behind the scenes that I don't know about. But I don't think anyone deserves to be treated with disrespect, including Instacart shoppers.
Posted 2/23/23: This sad, Webster Rd. store is poorly run by a Daytime Manager who is afraid to 'manage' his Staff! You will find him quietly stocking shelves on aisle 9 while "Tonya the Terror" rips customers "new ones" with her "Digital Deal" lectures like "why don't you get a new phone that will work with your app"? & math lessons and basically general harassment in order to make one feel like they are shopping in a Third World Country! 'Tonya the Terror' works at Webster Rd. Safeway (Dayshift). She has harassed me to almost tears on 3 occasions. I begged her. 'alright already..I don't need a math lesson, yet she totally ignored me and she would not shut up! Tonya continued to 'rant' on in a robotic, monotone voice i begged her you please stop, shut up! I will play full price...ANYTHING to get the 'H' out of this store! It is pathetic for Safeway to keep this mean person employed. I no longer shop at Safeway/ Webster Rd. because of "Ms. Terror". I have contacted Safeway Corporate HR twice and spoke to the same woman on two occasions who PROMISED I would get a phone call from a District front-end manager who would also contact the Day shift Mr. about "Ms. Terror". This manager from Safeway Corporate never called me and doesn't plan to! These are empty promises from an obviously sub-standard Human Resources Management Team who doesn't care about a decent reputation or their shoppers which is why people like "Tonya the Terror" can get away with how she treats people! Safeway Mgmt. has obviously gone way downhill and has apparently abandoned any kind of response in the name of customer service! They had my new number and several opportunities to reach out to me! At Safeway..there is no SAFE WAY especially with customer service! There's just "Tonya"! Happy 'one stop' shopping at Fred Meyer whose employee's happily help customers with getting their digital deals! Instead, "Tonya the Terror" made me feel like I was trying to get a Disneyland 3 day VIP pass for free!

On Wednesday night, February 22, at about 7:30 PM, I was shopping at the Safeway, located at 39100 Argonaut Way, the Fremont Hub, a shopping center in Fremont, CA. I was going to pay for two bags of tortillas and powdered drink mix, adding up to about $9.50. An employee, a young, short and stocky man, with black hair and goatee, almost crashed into me, intentionally, trying to block my way as I moved into the self check out machine. He then moved and acted oddly as he stood in a corner watching me as I scanned each item. No excuse me or sorry.
I am a 54 year old, Ph.D., teacher at the Fremont Unified School District. And I am a Latino Muslim, although I was not dressed up in religious clothing. This man stood there in the corner watching me, until I finished, making me feel very unconfortable, like some thief. For what? Less than $10 in paid merchandise? All was paid for and I left upset. I have been shopping there since 2017 but this is my last time going into your store. I will be telling others.
Please go after the real thiefs.

This last Friday was my daughter's birthday. I bought a cake from Safeway and Medford center got it home served it up when I got into it there didn't seem to be anything wrong with it but when the kid bit into decoration it was so hard it chipped her tooth. These were candies succulent decorations for the top of the cake supposedly edible. I took the cake sticker and two of the candies from the cake back to Safeway and spoke to the manager about it. She offered to pay for half of the cake. How completely insulting. It was like saying oh sorry about the chipped tooth or your dental bill but will take half the responsibility for the cake completely unacceptable Safeway.
Two girls at Ukiah Ca Safeway Pharmacy around 3pm, 2-21-23. The asian girl, in the back facing customers, was eating something & talking to mid-aged co-worker lady in red shirt.. who was talking to asian girl a full 5 minutes, with her back to the customers (check your cameras)??!! This is very poor Customer Service, and reflects badly upon Safeway mgmt?!
Why does the night shift not know anything I've been in Safeway after 6 to get money out on my card and not one person cashiers included knows how to add funds to a card I even tried to walk them through it and the girl insist it can't be done plus she even had the nerve to try and say they no longer do that at their stores any more just cause your stupid don't mean other people are stop having dumb kids on the nights at least make one person work that can handle things and this has been going on for more than a month with no one knowing how to add money to a debit card really and that's is you can even get the dumb kids to stop playing around and help you out I hate going into Safeway after 5 don't bother it's just a bunch of the dumbest employees acting like it's fun time at head start
Negative experience/ Webster Rd. Safeway Day shift Mon -Fri/ Tonya's shift. District "front end" Managers do not return phone calls to customers. Tonya is allowed full run of the store to insult anyone she wants. Maybe there is resentment because I am a natural citizen of the USA. (??) I don't know. Tonya harbors a hate and resentment I am not used to seeing around here!
I made a huge mistake coming in it 1pm ( Feb 8) instead of on Mark's shift. There is an employee named "Tonya" at the Webster Rd. Thiessen store. She doesn't like to help customers. She actually ENJOYS antagonizing harassing & embarrassing them. If your phone isn't an $1100 iphone.. you won't get the digital deal, period. Instead..Tonya gives you a math lesson..an 8 minute lesson in technology and a "5 straight minute rant" on why you are so stupid! I say this because all of his happened to me on Feb 8!! If you plead with her and tell her to please stop embarrassing you in front of other customers she rants on even more with no regard for your feelings. This horrible woman had me shaking I was so upset! Tonya has no regard for people's feelings and needs to "GO"!! Tonya has no regard for anyone except her own agenda which has nothing to do with customer service and all about making your WEBSTER RD. SAFEWAY shopping experience feel like you are in HELL's grocery store!!!! I have complained to the store manager and the DISTRICT Manager from the Corporate office on both Feb 8, 2023 and Feb 15th 2023. A person in Human Resources promised a 'front end' manager will call me but so far NOTHING!! I am not holding my breath as I have not received a call back. On 3 different occasions this horrible employee antagonized me & 'pulled my chain,. This store has gone waay downhill. The only employee there worth his weight in Gold is Mark.
Safeway online ordering is the worst. You put substitute and they still don't fellow directions. They they send you food that a human should not be eating. They sent me a pack of chicken that was bad and it look like my dog have been chewing on it. Then they pack the bags and stuff bust open. Then you contact them for a refund you got to wait 48 hours for a decision. You should not have to wait
I am not exaggerating I waited in a checkout line at Safeway in Placerville California for 15 minutes minimum. One lady could not figure out how to get her discounts through her phone and it went on and on and on. I surprised myself by how patient I was but I was just seating inside. No excuse for it. You need to address this problem personally and thoroughly. I was livid.
A check-out clerk at the Safeway in South SF/CA Safeway was giving me looks with disapproval for just standing there. Then when the checkout conveyer belt kept pushing my items into the scanner space, I tried to help by lining up my items, and she scolded me ike a child in front of everyone telling me to stop as it is getting on the scale. I told her to stop the conveyer and then she snapped back to tell me she's "not doing anything". Then she handed me the receipt without even looking at me and with disgust in her face at if my business didn't matter. Safeway everywhere - this is unacceptable customer service behavior.
Incompetent, untruthful, unreliable pharmacy Hazel Dell, Washington, store. Not a new customer, but will be finding a different pharmacy. Pharmacist and workers treat cash paying customers like dirt when trying to fill life-necessary prescriptions on a regular basis. Staff say dr office didn't respond to refills when have proof the dr did. Staff refuses to serve customers and sends them to other windows that can't help either. Unable to pick up prescriptions as they make it impossible to get through their own disgust of customers.
I was followed throughout the entire Safeway Yakima Washington 1600 Lincoln 98902 bye security as he continued to look me up and down with disgust. I spent 240$ and as i was leaving he was at the door just staring me down so i asked what his problem was and he ran at me like he wanted to fight me and pulled out a fake badge saying he security. I asked what is the problem. He said he has the right to follow me thru out the store! I motioned for manager and he told Christopher the security bully that im a daily customer and calmed him down!! I will not be shopping at Safeway until that bully is gone!!!
I went to the Newcastle Safeway and was getting lunch meat there were two workers and two customers ahead of me it took 20 minutes to get helped and when I was getting helped I wanted my meat thin she did do that I asked her three times to redo it after the third time time I was so mad I just wanted to leave. That was the worst service I have ever had there will not be going back even though I live in Newcastle.

Employee customer service are very poor, arrogant doesn't know what she is doing. 1st mistake she puts all the veg & fruits on the bottom & cans goods on top 2nd mistake I ask her that she can throw everything in my grocery bag. (Like put everything in the bag) but she is throwing like mad when I approached her she told me that she is following what I told her. Instead of listening she talked to much. She never give me chance to finish my sentence that how I lose my patience.
Safeway pharmacy on Philomath Blvd in Corvallis Oregon: they have not answered their phone in three days, have not returned several messages; there is no way to check if my prescriptions are ready yet. when I go into the store the line is a half-mile long... just to ask a question.
tomorrow (they are closed on Saturday...) I will go without my necessary medication
