My husband recently called Regions mortgage to inquire as to their interest rates. We are purchasing a new home. Apparently based on a phone, they automatically pull your credit without informing you and think this is legal. They "Do over the phone applications" all the time. He said he would get back with her and she did not inform him that they would automatically pull our credit. Now they won't take the inquiry off.

I've went to Regions a few times in the past and they would never do anything for me because I didn't have an account there. That's understandable for thing like cashing checks, etc. But today they wouldn't change out a $100 bill because I didn't have an account there. That's ridiculous. I've gotten change many times from banks I don't have an account with, this is the first and only time I've been not able to do so. Out of all the times I went to Regions Bank I've never been served there.

I think it's awful that Regions don't have customer service after 7:00on. I'm sure that there are other people that commute and don't get home until then. There should be somebody there at least until 8:pm. I ordered package on line, was paid for in full (4.95). Check my account today, was charged 95.00 pending, can't do anything until bank open tomorrow charge will go thru tonite. That means I will be late for work, having to go by bank in person to make sure their lazy behinds can take care of this. Think I will go back to Bank Of America . Thanks for nothing Regions

Why can't you get through to a real person. The so called support line should be renamed to customer aggravation line.

These people are impossible to reach by phone. Their website will not allow me to set up access to my credit card account. There is no email address at which to reach them either. What gives?

Worst customer service ever! Can't get anyone on the phone so I had to report my card lost online on a Friday night and over a week later I find out that it was never processed as lost. I reported it los tin person this time and I still don't have a new card. It's been over two weeks now and my frustration level is maxed out. I've opened an account with another bank. Good job running off a customer of 15 years!!!

Region's bank dropped the ball by not sending in a lien satisfaction and getting me my title. Now the car is totaled and I am having to do Regions' job for them. I have to call and ask them to send me the paperwork, I had to go to the tax commissioner office and hand in the paperwork and PAY for the corrected title. Now I have to wait 7-10 days for the state of GA to mail me a title. All the while, I can't be paid on my totaled car until I send the other person's insurance company the title. We have purchased a new car and now have to wait on paperwork to get reimbursed from the insure company. Some hits us, Region drops the ball and I'm still waiting for reimbursement. Oh and then when I asked to speak to the person who signed the lien satisfaction paperwork, I was told that Gary White is an officer of the bank and too busy to talk to me. I left my cell phone number and told I wasn't guaranteed a return phone call. Really? I'm not important enough.

Placed a hold on a check for nearly two weeks now. I filed a case with FDIC for investigation. I advise everyone to do the same.

I deposited a 1200 check nearly 2 weeks ago at the branch I use. It was in the after hours deposit like always because they close a 4pm every day and aren't open on weekends. A couple days later I logged in to my online banking to find the check was no longer pending but now posted...however the available funds did not reflect the posted check amount. I called the 800 number to inquire and found out there was a hold placed on the deposit. I asked what was the reason for the hold and was told "not sure, their system didn't provide that info". I called the lady who wrote the check and she later verified the same thing I had found, the check had cleared her bank and the funds were now in possession of Regions Bank. This was 2 days after the deposit. On day 8 of the check being held I went back in to my local branch and spoke with a rep. I asked the same questions and was told basically the same thing along with "we have not been able to verify the funds and once we do the hold will be lifted". Now I may be an idiot, but if Regions is now in possession of the money that has already been taken out of the BOA account...what more verification do you need? I wasn't happy with the lack of "help" I was getting so I started researching and found that the FDIC has a set of regulations banks mus adhere to in regards to deposits called Reg CC section 229 to be more specific. I found that the banks are legally bound to these "laws" they kept quoting while they were "helping" me, yet conveniently left out the specific parts they were violating.

They are required to make at least $100 of it available the following business day.

They are required to inform me of the hold within 24 hours.

They are required to inform me of the specific reason for the hold.

All of which Regions was continually failing to do either intentionally or through sheer incompetency. On the tenth day after the hold and being the 3rd attempt on my behalf to get some answers I went in to my local branch and presented these guidelines printed directly off of the Fed Reserves website. At this time I also informed them I planned to seek legal recourse and was threatened by the branch manager that she was going to call security. I told her to go ahead and call security and I would add a mental anguish suit for publicly humiliating me. She didn't call security, the first thing they did right! My reason for the legal recourse was 2 fold. One I had lost a contract job due to not being able to buy materials with the check written for that reason and because I suspect Regions is doing this to lots of people. This may not seem terrible at first glance but think of it this way. Regions gets to use potentially millions of our dollars at absolutely no cost or without paying us interest and make profit off of our money. If we borrow money we pay interest, plain and simple. If we take someones money without permission and make money off that money, but give it back, we are still charged with theft...as they should be, unless they follow the federal regulations.

I have since opened a case with the FDIC and through all of the documentation I have presented to them, it looks like people like me have a case. I was told that when the bank is found in violation of federal guidelines, the penalties and fines will make my $1200 they held look like pennies.

I urge all others with this same problem, whether at Regions or and other bank, open a case and file a complaint with the FDIC.

I was also told I will most likely be contacted for an out of court settlement.

We can fight this tyranny if we take the time and put forth a little effort.

I'm actually reconsidering changing banks because Regions is NOT consistent, they don't go by their customer service hours, they constantly like to close people accounts without letting them know the issue, this is the 3rd time they have done this and I'm tired of my accounts not being secured, they are terrible. I can deal with Bank of America before them

Regions is only available for ANY question via 800# call or email. You must tell them your SS#, Act#, PIN#, Date of Birth to ask a simple question. There is not a phone # for the local branch. The most customer-negative service I have every experienced.

called the 1-800 number for help with a check that had came through the night before and my deposit came through that morning. The customer service person said go to bank ask them to call deposit operation and tell them deposit has been made to have check paid. I went to bank in Springfield, Il. on 6 st. spoke with Bonnie McDonald who said I didn't need to wait she would take care of this. The next morning I called Bonnie and she said they do not offer this service. I called the 1-800 back again and was told they do offer the service if the branch wants to take the the time to contact the proper departments but I guess this branch didn't do that

I have been a customer for over 8 years. I have noticed the poor service yet being there so long made me reluctant to change. Then here in Fl. they started allowing us to borrow up to amounts of say 200 or more, they would take the amount plus interest out as soon as the first deposit..I am disabled so they always took mine out around the first. Then one day there was no minus for borrowing when my deposit went in, I checked and nothing hand written either, so I thought I was clear. Then as rotten luck would have it, I had a large amount I was going to mail out but they had sent me an email saying they had my mail returned to them, impossible, but thatz what they said, so now I am fearful to mail it, so I just sent it thru the bank electronically, usually the amount I supposedly borrowed from the bank would have been taken out on the 3rd but it was not taken out until I sent the large payment and bam, I got the overdraft, I was crying and everything as suddenly about 10 small charges I had made were not even in yet and I had already taken out most of my money for something else! I called the bank and the girl said I could not even get the overdraft fee off as you only get one taken off in your life time and I had used mine. what the heck? So I asked for the supervisor as I already figured in my head I owed over 300 plus 130 in overdraft with the other 10 charges. I was crying, hysterial, I am dying of cancer, very ill, and that does make you feel like crap cos I can't go out and hussle up extra money by selling something from my home, or whatever. The supervisor said I would be only charged the one overdraft but she lied, and I knew better. These people lie like they breath. I have been with them so long, she told me it was congratulations for having been such a good payer, so they changed it to the 7th and thatz why I did not see it taken out of my deposit. I said well I got nothing in the mail or any email. Gosh, what swindlers!! I don't even think I borrowed any this time. Now my account is so messed up, I will never catch up. I despise them. I hope they get put out of business by whoever governs them.

I can echo the concern. This is the third time I've needed help while overseas and can't reach anyone. When I call, the message is, "Welcome to Regions Bank, goodbye." I'm denied access to my online banking. The service has NEVER been the same since AmSouth was bought out by Regions. The green logo represents a greed for money but no customer service. I will change banks upon return to the US.

I am traveling overseas and my card was declined. I have been calling the 1800 for two days trying to reach someone. I just wanted to let the bank know I am traveling because I am running out of cash and I need access to my money. Regions needs a better system. This is totally unacceptable.

I have been banking with you since you bought out my local bank , "Etowah Bank" probably 15 years ago. I had a client come to me tonight with a check drawn on Regions bank that he could not cash because he said the automated teller at Suntrust bank rejected it as an invalid check. I called all the regions 1-800 numbers and was told everybody went home for the day. Why can't I talk to a 24 hour representative in another country? I will get to the bottom of this tomorrow and have every intention of moving my business elsewhere. I cannot have people that I pay calling me and telling me that my Regions check is no good.

Opened an account with a promise of $150 incentive which would appear on the next account statement. It did not. I called and was told "next month" every mnonth until the fourth month. I was going to transfer by banking to this account, but felt that the bank had no integrity. I was told by the regional manager that she could "not really do anything about the situation." In total, I waited five months for the incentive which was promised by the bank branch over five times, only to be told that "I am sorry that you feel that the bank did not do what they said they would do." I will be changing my mortgage company as soon as possible as well. In the top ten worst ever lifetime diabolically poor customer service experiences ever."

What can one say about zero accountability from even a branch manager? Smug responses... she knows she can do and say whatever she wants to say, and nothing can ever be done about it as corporate regions could care less.

Very sad considering I have been doing business with regions for the last fifteen years. I find it very strange that someone would go out of their way, and enjoy trying to ruin someone. Normal business practices would be that a branch manager would attempt to do whatever it took to make proper resolutions to problems instead of an "oh well... we goofed" when THEY improperly handled our deposits. My checks bouncing because of the banks laziness is not acceptable.

Very difficult to use local branch. Tried for five days to speak with someone about safety deposit box. Called and spoke with customer service rep. She had difficulty too! The local branch would put her on hold and then hang up. Tried to call Executive Office but number listed gets operator intercept the the number has been disconnected

As a customer having difficulty with the Belle Chasse, La Branch and an employee of Regions also having difficulty with this branch I would not recommend Regions to anyone. Service has progressively deteriorated over the years

My bank card has been shut off in error and I just had it declined in a restaurant. Very embarrassing and now I have no access to my funds until Monday because there is no 24 hour customer service! Banker's hours prevail at Regions. Been a customer for a decade, have 7 accounts both personal and corporate. Great support.

I was just wanting to let everyone know to be aware of the transaction you make they don't go the order you swipe your card. They go from highest to lowest, I spoke with a lady this is what she said, I said that is FRAUD cause that is not how life works well that is how regions does there NSF would you want the highest amount to be paid first, I said no cause that is what cause me to have a $144.00 in NSF cause I had money in there to cover the other 3 transactions and she said I understand what you are saying but that's not how it works. So I'm looking for someone to resolve my issue to try to stop Regions for giving everyone the SHAFT....

Posted by Somebody

Worse experience ever, They will pend all your transactions from Friday to Monday, even debits, then push through the largest payments, say your Monday mortgage payment, before all the other transactions that where made before you paid mortgage. So in the event you are running short Mortgage overdraws your account and you then have several NSF fees, instead of just one if they did it in order.
Then they put a hold on my paycheck because they said my account was in the negative for over 20 days, I told them impossible since I get paid every 14 days. They said it has to stay positive for at least 48 business hours to count as getting current. (so 4 days since I get paid on Fridays) So here I am with over $1100 in my account but regions has a hold on the entire thing, and has suspended my debit card. This makes my car payment late, my electric is turned off. Regions screwed me over by stealing my money, they will not release my money. I have overdraft protection for a reason, they get paid $36 for NSF. Now they steal my paycheck?? Im already penalized for NSF!!! REGIONS SUCKS and they commit fraud!!
