I was grossly over charged by Uhaul and I would not recommend their truck rental service EVER. Their hidden fees are OUTRAGEOUS.

Please don't rent uhaul from these two locations 800
N mcclintock or 500 N mcclintock the general manager Donivan Holloway-Thomas the way he handled his customers was very unprofessional he talk to you in away that he feels he can say what he likes cause no one can tell him differently. i became homeless do you my brain aneurysm i called uhaul made reservations for truck and storage saturday 2/6 for 2/7 customer service told me since i was getting both they had a rent a truck one month free storage i made reservations sent my son to pick everything up he get to thomas location and there is no deal thomas shoutout i don't know why they keep send customers to my
location i don't do no one month free i call customer service back they make reservations again to thomas location now i'm the bad guy thomas send me to another location where they didn't have any call customer service phone to let them know what happened now the location is closing i had to move my things out my apartment because it was time. it's 6:37 am 2/8 still no storage i've been away from my child because of this storage park back on uhaul lot mr thomas come banging on the window asking me why am i sleeping on his lot i should've left my things and came back i tried explaining to him what was going on he didn't want to hear nothing i had to say when he seen customer service kept sending me to his location he told me wasn't going to rent me any storage at his location. i really don't know why i was treated like
this and all i wanted was a storage i offer to pay for 10 by 10 for $99 made reservations get to the location that was gone it's 2/8 i'm still in the uhaul truck with it packed up but still no storage.

Uhaul has terrible customer service..when you have a problem..you're on hold forever...never use them..Budget is much better

These people are no help in any area. It first started as my brother was getting a tow hitch kit connected to his car and paid over $500 for it. The part was already 3 days late and then they fought with him for a while day when he was suppose to be loading uheal already. Then they went to pick up the trailer and it took 2 hours to get it. Then when to Fl I was quoted $84.95 for a 10x10x9 unit on January 19th under my name. I called and confirmed that again cause my brother said that he did not see this online. Was told again the price. Well came the day to get the unit and all of a sudden they couldn't honor the price or anything. Was extremely rude as was told she would call back after listening to calls (Becky). Waited 5 hours no call and when I called back I was transferred 8 times as no one knew who Becky was or how to get her on the phone. Turn around and told I was lieinh this and that. I will never use them again!

This company consistantly gives out customer phone numbers to random people wanting to have them move items across the border into Canada. That is so wrong on many levels. They should NEVER give out a customer phone number. Who knows if that random person is trying to transport their hidden drugs across the border?! Very unprofessional.

U-Haul is the worst I flew to Florida to move some stuff back up north they gave me a van that the doors were peeled back on the wind was howling through this thing for two days straight the transmission was slipping get it up to 5000 RPMs and it was doing 35 miles an hour when I finally got to my destination the guy said they were going to take the truck off the road and service it I called two days later to see if I was going to be compensated somewhat I was told that the truck went to Texas the man told me I drove it around the block and there was nothing wrong with it they do not maintain their equipment I wouldn't recommend U-Haul to my worst enemy it was the worst experience ever and I've had some bad experiences

No complaint against the pickup location, rather than the U-Haul company itself. One of the worst international company. Extremely poor their internal system apart from the website. Nothing can be worst than their customer service, negative professionalism, rude manner, arrogant behavior, commitment is against their practice, they don't give a damn to customer satisfaction.

Plan ahead isn't gonna work, cause I did 2.5 weeks before the moving day. On the moving day at my pick-up time all these happened with me and became a nightmare experience for rest of life. Hours I spent my time with the customer service rather than organizing the stuffs.

I will never recommend to rely on U-Haul, make a backup plan or go with other companies small or big competitors. Shame to the CEO - who only thinks about the revenue.

Communications are terrible. Call a different number get a different story. Was shuttled off to call centers every time I could never get the same answer twice. Most frustrating vendor of the year! I will never use you all again ever.

Do not hire Moving Help of U-Haul. They are fraud. They do not show up, do not provide services and do not refund money. I hired Moving help to unload U-Haul truck. They did not show up. When I called them, they told me to cancel the services. I had to hire another moving services. Had to take another day off. Paid premium for emergency services. Paid one addition day rent of the U-Haul truck. Moving Help will not refund my money. They told me to contact the movers. Movers told me that Moving Help did not pay them money. Moving help gave me a code to give movers when service is completed. Movers did not show up and I did not give them code. Without code they are not paid.

Monday The Nov. 29th 2021 I rented a trailer from uhual in Maplewood Mn the deck was all crinkled and damaged .I took it anyway. I returned trailer Nov 30th at 7:45 Pm A uhual Employee took trailer off my cargo van and checked it into system. On December 1st 2021. The manager at uhual calls me saying i no longer have permission to use the trailer and I need to return it . I told him to get his head out of his ass. He argued with me insisting i didn't return it so basically calling me a liar and a thief. I reported this to upper management who called me back at 4:50 pm Dec 1st saying it was ok for employees of uhual to be incompetent like the manager she hired. It ok for employees to call customers liars and thieves because of their own incompetence. She wasn't concerned with this employees behavior at all just with how I spoke to him after he called me a liar and a thief. I will never rent anything from uhual ever again stay away unless you enjoy being called a liar and a thief not respected as a valued customer.

Visiting Chicago suburbs now. Needed a U-Haul to help a friend out. Googled U-Haul locations in Glen Ellyn and surrounding area. Four locations found. Great news, right? Wrong! I called each location listed to check availability. Each one of the four had an unworking number. Bizarre. I checked every number listed, then called again. Same result. So I DROVE to each location listed. Zero addresses were correct. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone. Every one! I couldn't call to find out where there are located because all the numbers did not work. And I could not visit in person because all of the addresses were wrong. Horrible business.

U-Haul is one of the worst moving companies you could ever get I have had a U-Haul truck for 4 days I called and extended the services with the customer service I guess they didn't make notes or something happened and then I lost the key so I called them back this evening and told them they were supposed to be bringing me another key and making payment arrangements and they had this might the tote that they had the U-Haul truck towed with all of my belongings in it I don't believe it I have never in my life had anything like this happen

We rented a truck and booked a moving company that UHaul partners with to help us move some heavy items. This is done through UHaul's partnership with MovingHelp and entirely through the UHaul web page. We picked up the truck at 3:30pm and drove it home to wait for the movers to call when they were done their previous job. We waited until about half way through our 4 hour rental period and determined that the movers were not going to call, so we drove the truck back and dropped off at 6:30pm. The UHaul location closed on Sundays at 5PM, so we dropped the key in the after hours drop-off. The entire round trip from pick up to drop off was 3 hours and 14 miles - on a Sunday evening, so no one would have been able to rent the truck after us, it was going to sit until Monday no matter what. When I called UHaul on Monday to ask for a refund for the truck rental, I was told they could not do that because I had driven it off the lot, and because if I had returned it earlier they could have made money off renting it again. I explained that I was waiting on the call from the movers that Uhaul had coordinated/promoted for us, but was told they would not issue a refund. Very poor policy / customer service. I did not need a truck without movers, but because UHaul does not stand behind it's partnerships, I am out the rental fee over a matter of 14 miles and 3 hours on a Sunday evening when they most likely would not have been able to rent the truck out. I won't use UHaul again.

I am due a refund for charges incorrectly applied to my storage account & have been waiting for over 3 months for SOMEONE to fix my account. I have attempted contact on numerous occasions with the last one being in person, at which time I was assured it would be taken care of within 3 to 5 days - that was approximately a month ago.
I have informed them I'm happy to pay the bill when it is correct - showing all due credits, including any late fees that have been applied. Once I am finished with UHaul, I will never utilize any of their services again.

We reserved a uhaul yesterday, we were told that yes there's trucks available from both the guy that owns it plus from the woman on the reservation line who by the way isn't in Canada but in savanna Georgia in the U.S. no problem she said, pick up the truck on the day you need it. Today we get a call from uhaul telling us that they canceled our reservation as there were no trucks available in my town but if I wanted to rent a truck from a town 3hrs one way pick it up drive it here to use it but then we had to pay the mileage of driving it 300 plus km. What a fricken joke. I wouldn't recommend this place if my life depended on it.

On 9/30/2021, I rented a Uhaul from the Whitefield location for 2days. When placing the order, I was told we just needed to pick up the uhaul. After driving to Fort Worth, we were supposed to go to Athens, TX and drop off the Uhaul there. That job in Athens got moved to a new location so we returned the Uhaul to Garland, TX rather than the original plan of dropping it off in Athens , TX. Prior to dropping it off, I called Uhaul and was told we wouldn't be charged extra for dropping at a different location. ONCE I VIEWED MY STATEMENT, I NOTICED I WAS CHARGED A $200 CLEANING FEE. THIS UHAUL WAS CLEANER WHEN WE DROPPED IT OFF THAN WHEN I PICKED IT UP. The day after we returned the uhaul, I received a voice mail (which I actually just listened to today) from Chedrick stating that we had stolen the Uhaul (even though I have a contract from uhaul with the same dates). I called Chedrick today & it went straight to his voice mail. I left a message but still haven't heard back, 4 hours later. After this, I called Uhaul in Garland to ask why we were charged this cleaning fee. I was told we were charged this because we dropped it at a different location. I explained to the lady what I was told by uhaul when I called and she said I would need to call the district manager, who again is Chedrick. I called him again, but again straight to voice mail.

So in meantime, this morning, I reserved another Uhaul from the Eufaula location. Once there, I was told we would need to do online check in, which wasn't showing to be available. I called the customer service number and was told we could no longer do business with Uhaul because of the stolen trailer. I explained the situation AGAIN to this gentleman... he said I needed to contact the general manager, Chedrick. I told him I had already tried contacting him and gotten no response. I was then given the General Manager's name & phone number (Ken Cunningham). Prior to calling him, I decided I'd call the Whitefield location to
see what they had to say. The girl I spoke to was shocked and said she'd contact another person who works there and they'd get back to me. She did also confirm their location has NO ONLINE CHECK IN. Waiting for a call back. A pretty sad situation considering that we rent uhaul trailers 5 to 10 times a year to deliver cabinets!!!!

U-Haul has made moving an absolute nightmare.

We ordered 4 boxes for one month.
We basically got 2 boxes at a time for one week.

What they don't tell you is that the boxes are attached to trailers that you don't rent, so even if you get the boxes you ordered, you are at the scheduling whim of the trailers. We have gotten phone calls nearly every day wanting the trailers. But our stuff is on there! So, they keep taking our stuff. After talking to Head Office is was explained to us that they were supposed to use a forklift to place the boxes on the driveway and not keep them on a trailer.

Initially delivered two boxes. Had to fill those as they needed the trailer. Took those away and brought the other two. Filled those and took them to the new house. They phoned again needing the trailer on the day before we had scheduled people to empty them.

Insisted on taking our 2 boxes the day before the move. Did not give us another option. Refused to work with us. The GM talked over us and just repeats what he wants until he gets it. Pawned me off on the transit manager who was supposed to call within 15 mins. Never got the call and had to call them. As soon as the woman on the phone saw which account this related to her demeaner drastically changed. One word answers and she hung up on us. Extremely rude and unprofessional.

When picking up the trailers the day before our move the GM was incredibly rude to both my partner and I. He banged on our door VERY loudly and just walked away. Wouldn't talk to my partner. Just pointed at our car that I guess he wanted moved yet again.

They also broke the neighbours fence when placing the original trailer at new place. When we mentioned this the GM could not have cared less. Told us the neighbour would have to file a complaint. No apology. Nothing.

Called to complain about the behavior of the GM and the second person we talked to was very rude as well and insisted that they talk to me as they refused to talk to my partner. She ended up hanging up on us. Very professional.

We had to constantly shift our plans around to suit their trailer schedule. We were never given an option. They would just show up and take our stuff without a care in the world as to how it would affect our move. When we insisted that they return our stuff on moving day they just gave us a string of excuses and hung up on us AGAIN.

We never even came close to getting what we paid for. There has been no offer to compensate us for their schedule extending our move. Quite the opposite, they hounded us for $13 we apparently owed them.

I'm a 46 year old professional and I have never in my 46 years on this planet been treated with such a lack of respect. The GM's arrogant and flippant attitude was stunning to both myself and my partner.

This was single handedly the most negative moving experience I have ever encountered. I would avoid this location at all costs and certainly do not use their box service.

We will be seeking compensation for all of the above but I highly doubt anything will come of it but more hang ups.

Retired moving from Fla to Maine, booked the largest truck I could six weeks before move. Received multiple emails from UH during period before move to assure me of my truck rental, I also asked for an extra couple of days and was told yes and we don't charge you for that. One week before move received email to change pick up venue. On the day we arrive at UH for Truck pick up "don't know what you are talking about says the young girl in office, we only have a couple of pick ups and they are rented today". Angry phone call to customer service and an hour or so later they give us an address elsewhere in Fla that luckily has a truck. Of course they don't have have the packing blankets that we ordered in advance but at least we have a truck. For an almost brand new truck it ran like crap, engine would race and accelerate going down hills. Finally we arrive in Maine and 48 hours later I return the truck, the bill has increased by around $400.00 and when I query this I'm told "well that's how much it is" also we have to charge you for the extra couple of days, No I say I was told it would be free shouldn't have told you that says the clerk. So in future I would rather use a wheel barrow and push my stuff around rather than use UH, what a bunch of useless lying crooks.

I'm trying to display this on social media and every platform possible i was a loyal customer for two years even through the pandemic where i was homeless and not able to work i still paid my storage fee and all associated late fees sometimes totaling $200.00 i made a payment to a dummy account which belonged to someone else by mistake using my name phone number and storage unit number reached out to the managers reached out to bbb reached out to a lawyer reached out to their credits department reached out to their district manager reached out to my bank still to no avail i gave proof that i paid my unit under someone else's account by accident I received no goods or services from uhaul but still they kept my money their credits department said 3-5 business days their manager said 5-7 this was july 16th it's august 27th during a pandemic where people can barely feed their families they robbed me without a gun i will continue to try to sue and post my experience until uhaul understands you cannot rob families for their hard earned money and not return them any goods or services $200.00 may not seem like alot but when you receive nothing for it it's a waste they never refunded me my money or put it towards my storage unit so i lost $200.00 and my storage unit with all my worldly possessions please if you need storage or a rental truck please use peneske or some other company I don't care how loyal you are to uhaul you can never get anyone on the phone even with my lawyers reaching out it's so bad my lawyer sent them a letter just for a response
