Recently I've been thinking about that time I clicked on a checkbox that said "Free Item" and how it was used against me to withhold $55 from a product refund. This is when Google was giving every retailer a ton of these Alexa clones (Echo) out for free with other orders.

Well, it's free, why not, right? Problem was, I never received the product I ordered. I got the Alexa clone I didn't really care about, but not the original item. So I had to get a refund, but they took off $55 for the Echo!

To this day, Newegg has failed to send me a refund for the money they are currently withholding from me. There was no disclaimer stating that I would be held liable for a "FREE" item for $55. They gave me credit which I didn't bother using, I don't expect my next order to arrive, let alone come without hidden customer liabilities. I spent hours on chats when it happened but never got my money, so I eventually gave up.

I just wanted to repost my story for anyone thinking of buying from Newegg: don't!

Placed an order on 12/7/22 for a Christmas tree topper and never received it. Tracking made it as far as creating a label and NewEgg employees are clueless on their process for following up with their vendors. The vendor never responded and so I had to eventually cancel the order. Both NewEgg and their vendors provide horrible customer service.

While I believe Newegg is a reputable company, I don't believe that will last long if you continue to have deliveries made by On Trac, I am spending the afternoon picketing our local On Trac after they have claimed To have delivered twice to my front door the keyboard I ordered from Newegg. Your company is the third one to use this incompetent delivery service. I quit Amazon because they use On Trac, while Grove Collaborative worked with me and now my packages are delivered by UPS. We have had the local news station come and take pictures, I sincerely hope you think of your companies reputation using a Yelp 1 star rated disaster delivery company and stop using On Trac.

Purchased two Klipsch Icon KF-28 Dual 8" 2-way Floorstanding Speakers on 8/4/18. They were delivered by Fedx all busted up and destroyed. Fedx driver told me to contact Newegg. Newegg had me send photos of all the damage so I did. After several days they got back with me and told me they would send replacements. I asked that they send UPS and mark them as fragile. Few days later fedx showed up and showed me again that the packaging was destroyed and the speakers were all busted up. Newegg customer service had me send photos again and this time stated they would get it right. At this point I have been charged for three speakers when I only purchased two, only have 1 good speaker delivered and over three weeks later they are still giving me excuses to why I have not received my order or refund. They have lied to me, not return phone calls and on 9/3/18 I emailed replyied a rep that lied about inventory and told her if I did not receive a actual phone call from someone resolving this issue I would be posting negative reviews. As you can see they do not care. Horrible products because of being defective or damaged and also horrible customer service. Still have not received full refund or replacement!!

Newegg CS & a Supervisor sent me a Burner CD instead of an Optical Drive 2 different times and are hanging onto my cash for a week to 10 days. I don't think they even have what I need and change the subject and send me the opposite of an optical drive. They don't know that burner drives with storage cannot co-exist on an optical drive.

Ordered a motherboard, CPU, and Memory. Motherboard came in bad. RMA motherboard and got return 3 weeks later. Breadboard of system would not post. tried to return to New Egg and got RMA numbers. Then confusion started. Now New Egg generated a RMA without my request to return a CPU I don't have and was included with RMA returned to New Egg. Waiting - call # 4 to try to straighten out. Not impressed with NEW Egg customer services.

Bought a motherboard from newegg a little while back. never got the rest of the parts until a few days ago and put everything together. Tried to find what the issue was, it was the motherboard. Contacted customer support to see what they could do for me being i bought a BROKEN product from them. The thing they could have done was take mine back and send the broken one back to MSI for a return based on the product not functioning when sold to newegg to resell. They sent me to MSI customer service, basically to push the issue off to them instead so they don't have to deal with it. It was broken out of the box... newegg sold the broken product why do i have to go through the manufacturer now?

Newegg sold me a refurbished macbook pro, and a warranty for over 1000.00. I have had to send each macbook back, thats five computers sent back, that do not work. They are too old to support an operating system that apple supports, so no safari and no apple support. What is the point of buying a macbook if you get nothing from apple. This has been one full year of hell, dealing with newegg and their disreputable company. I have been told over and over NO REFUND AND NO CREDIT. 1000.00 lost to newegg.

On Black Friday 2015 we ordered $1,100.00 in computer parts to build a new system for our son in college. They shipped via UPS who in left this package on our front porch and no one home. The package was stolen. We contacted Newegg and they contacted UPS to do an investigation, which 3 days before xmas was still not resolved. I got very impatient and tried to get this resolved so to have the gift for x-mas, One of their customer service members talked me into doing a whole new order (which I paid an additional $1,100.00 for; they in turn paid for 2 day shipping to have this under the xmas tree). They told me that once UPS would complete their investigation, they will refund the money. Too bad it was NOT THAT EASY.

The Newegg idiots then sent this shipment to a totally different address even AFTER they confirmed my mailing address. I managed to get that money refunded, but the initial shipment made in Nov. they were dragging their heals.

Needless to say our son never got his x-mas gift. It is now Feb and this issue still has not been resolved. They refuse to send new parts or refund our money because according to UPS they "delivered the package to the correct address, and therefore will not cover the cost."

Newegg then decided not to refund my money nor ship out the computer parts, They claimed that the 2nd shipment they made and refunded cuz they shipped to wrong address was the refund, and therefore the issue was resolved. Never mind that they are two separate order numbers placed on two separate dates. They were not even considering the fact of the initial shipment from Nov. They seem to think that initial $1100.00 was a present to them I guess.

Now Newegg claims after 2 months that they want to see a Police report. Sure why not report something stolen 2 months after the fact. After forwarding this police report, and now DEMANDING money refunded, I am still waiting for their reply. I went to the bank to dispute charges as well to get my money returned.

I don't care if I have to pay 4 times as much for computer parts by shopping somewhere else; I will NEVER buy anything from Newegg again. After this great experience they can kiss my ass! SHOP AT TIGER DIRECT instead. Never had issues with Tiger Direct.

Newegg has made it difficult to locate them and get their Tax ID number that is required by many organizations to purchase from them. Many companies have started to add their tax id's onto various from and windows because so many of us need it. It is very poor customer service, especially when you just let your phone ring and ring at corporate HQ when dialing "0" for the operator.

I have to give more credit to NewEgg's Customer Service staff than most other reviewers here. In my experience, they make a genuine effort to help with a problem. However NewEgg absolutely drives off the cliff when it comes to order fulfillment: I purchased an item with the prominently highlighted notice in their product description of "1-3" days expedited shipping -- and this was for ALL purchases of the product, NOT just for their Premier members. The 3-day expedited shipping was confirmed at check out, BUT then they shipped it via UPS Ground! Who wants any piece of electronics to rattle around in the back of a freight truck for whole week? At least other online dealers honor their word.

Ordered hardware and game from Newegg. Hardware was delivered. I need pass code for game. Newegg cust service impossible to contact. Total failure to respond after initial automated email response. I recommend no one use them until after they clear up their backlog of service problems. They used to be good, but in total failure mode now.

awful, awful, awful!!!! Never again! I ordered a pc online, realized it was not the one i wanted, I canceled it 2 minutes after I ordered it, and was told it was too late to cancel, that it had already been shipped! Yea Right! I had to wait 2 and 1/2 weeks for my money to be refunded. Shady practices, i will never order anything from Newegg again. I order the computer i actually wanted through Best Buy and had zero issues.

My account claims my item has shipped a week ago, yet my tracking number wasn't ever made active and the shipping carrier never received the item. I called Newegg for a refund and I still have yet to see my money. I strongly recommend not shopping at Newegg - they have shady shipping practices.

I purchased a motherboard, memory, and video card from NewEgg and paid extra for their "Rush Delivery". After a week, I called to ask about the item, they said it was shipping that morning - and were nice enough to credit me for the "Rush Delivery". Once I received the order, the motherboard was defective, so I sent it in for an RMA exchange. After a week, I was advised it would take an additional 7-10 days for processing, then 3-5 days to send out a replacement. As the order was time sensitive (hence the "Rush Delivery initially), I paid to receive the replacement and they changed the exchange to a refund. After calling every few days for updates, two weeks later I finally received a notification that my refund was being issued and it would take "3-5 business days" to process. That was a week ago, so I called today to ask about it. Now I will wait "1-3 business days" while someone investigates and finds my refund.
I have worked in retail/service for several years, so I understand that unforeseen complications and "glitches" can cause unwarranted delays. But EVERY step of the process with NewEgg has been beyond poor and contradictory to their claims of service and customer care. I will no longer be shopping with this company and suggest other follow suit.

I ordered a monitor that ended up being faulty. Newegg offered me a rma to replace the monitor. But it ran out of stock so they refunded me and said they will honor the price when it comes back in stock. So I waited until it came back in stock and asked them again (this only took about 1 week). They said this was not do-able since the price is below the value of what they paid for and offered me a credit instead if I purchased the monitor instead (If newegg didn't want to sell it for this price then why?! ). They screwed me over and wasted so much of my time fighting for something I waited so long to buy. I was a long time customer now I'm never shopping at newegg again. I am PISSED. If you value your time and money never shop at newegg, they will just lure you in with "deals" and screw you over.

I bought an Asus T100 that came with a 50$ rebate. My mom and her husband needed a computer/tablet so she asked me to buy one for them as well. Since they are old and not very computer savvy, they asked that I submit their rebate and they will pay me the difference.

So both rebate were to be sent to my address, but I only get one rebate. Newegg did not honor their second rebate stating that the rebate is being sent to the same address. Are you kidding me! The computers were sent to different addresses (Connecticut and one to Florida). So I told them to send to my parent then and they refuse. We know that Newegg just want to take advantage of their customers. Please don't let Newegg take advantage of you like they did my parent.

Customer "Service", only to be told that the item is eligible for neither return or exchange. NICE!

Anyone who deals with this scumbag outfit deserves whatever they get...and that is, screwed out of your hard-earned money.

I've been doing business with NewEgg for 15 years. As of recently this company has a HUGE lack of concern for it's customers. When I came across this site and saw the ratio of nearly 7 negatives comments to 1 positive comment it was no surprise.

My most recent issue among others is only after ordering a motherboard did I find it will not work with the VGA setup I have. The specifications did not list this to be the case. After trying to return this item in exchange for one that does work they simply said we can only exchange it for the exact same item, which obviously does me no good. If they want to sell items they had best start listing the specifications accurately and stop screwing their customers, or should I say their former customers as I will be dealing with other online computer supply retailers from here on forward.

Really great service! Once I got through the layers co computers asking me to select numbers. I tried another number a young sounding man resolved my issue in a few minutes. (He was human ) He helped me, was calm, knowledgeable, and respectable. Great job!

Just wanted to advise of shipping issue.. Mother Board opened today to find all crushable paper on top of board with none on bottom leaving me to believe that board was improperly packed.. Hopefully their will be no problem with my build...

I recently filed a complaint regarding the surprisingly horrible customer service that I had received from Newegg. Thanks to Dianne at [email protected], the issue was resolved in one business day. It is a shame that the primary customer support was so bad compared to years past, but Dianne proved that there were some customer support reps that still remembered how Newegg treated its customers 10 years ago. She alone salvaged the modicum of trust that I'd previously had for Newegg.

NewEgg has an awesome customer service. I've been with them since 2007 and never had a single issue with them.

I bought a PSU unit for my uncle because his burnt out and realized when it arrived that I had bought the wrong PSU. I called up newegg and they quickly resolved it by refunding me the money and gifting the PSU unit.

A little whiles later, I bought a Cannon digital camera from newegg. Somehow it was lost and I reported it, after the investigation they sent me another camera and more memory for being patience.

Just a few years ago, I bought a Linksys router from newegg. After 32 days, the router completely stopped working, After calling newegg, they sent me an RMA and returned the unit with no hassle.

I read some guy had to pay $17.99 for an RMA and return.. I never had to do anything like that. Also, I've never had a problem with this company and will continue to buy from Newegg.

NewEgg is one of the companies that has always treated me right.

UPDATE: I had recently made a complaint regarding Newegg returning a defective Motherboard to me and refusing to refund it. I have since straightened the situation out thanks to their representative Freddy Angel. He was very helpful and together we got the whole thing sorted out. It's still a bit vexing that so many steps needed to be taken, but at least they have this extra layer of customer support available.

Ok - problem with a transaction on Black Friday to Cyber Monday weekend, and I need to call them up to verify a few things and rerun a card. I'm thinking it will take a really, really long time.

But instead, within 2 minutes of calling, I get in touch with a representative who handles all bells and whistles easily and quickly. The overall transaction, which I expected to take an hour, took 6 minutes.

Overall, I had a very good experience, and I can't rate them highly enough.

A customer does have the responciblity of researching products before they buy.. Quit Complaining and get an RMA number.

I've ordered a few thousand dollars worth of equipment through newegg and have been happy with every experience. I've had one major computer problem on something that was refurbish, so therefore there was no warranty - yet they STILL replaced it. Very impressed.

Just to update. NewEgg has provided me with a RMA for a refund for the failed device, but I did have to email one of the customer service reps directly.

So that is good news, but still I don't like the routes you have to take to get issues resolved.

I have used Newegg many times and never really had an issue. If I did they were willing to help out. I remember about a year ago I ordere a PC part and when I got it in the mail. I found out it was used not new. I called them right ways and they just refund me the money and told me to keep the item.

Great customer service, I ordered a desktop and got it right on top with everyone described. I even returned a cable I got with the desktop and they told me not to worry about sending it and gave me a full refund. Stop hating on newegg

I have been building PC's since 1998, and started purchasing from Newegg in 1999. I have never had a single issue with their customer service, or any negative experiences. I have received 2 DOA items (a motherboard and a power supply) in that time span, and Newegg was extremely accomodating in both instances.

Take any negative reviews with a grain of salt. People are highly more likely to post negative experiences than positive ones... the squeeky wheel gets the grease, etc.

Newegg quickly took care of me, gave me a free shipping label, and guaranteed me a replacement part!

How are there negative reviews for NewEgg? This is the best company I've ever dealt with! They consistently have the best selection, best prices and usually have free shipping on almost anything. That and even their cheap shipping is usually here in 3-5 days. Been dealing with them for over two years and not one issue.

I just got finished with a online chat with a rep named Viola.

I was in need of a return and She was able to quickly and efficiently resolve my issue and setup a RMA.

I am overall very pleased with the service I received and would definitely recommend to friends and family!

I am a regular client at newegg.ca and it is the first time I had an issue. The issue was about the price drop of an item only few hours after I placed my order for that item.

I see a lot of negative comments on here and I feel it is only fair to add my positive one. My Asus laptop was stolen from my front door, and I was freaking out over what to do. (it was over $1000)Thankfully, Mia on the customer service line was able to help me get either a refund or a replacement. I had to go with refund just because i was worried UPS would mess up yet again, but she did a wonderful job. I will still recommend Newegg, only with a grain of salt do to unsafe UPS delivery.

My shipment never arrived via USPS. Reported to NewEgg customer service via chat session. CS representative was very courteous and helpful. NewEgg took care of filing report with USPS. Sent replacement shipment within days.

I have bought computer parts and laptops from several places in the past. Then I found Newegg. That was many years ago. I have not purchased anything computer related from anywhere else since! I had to return a set of headphones once and the process was fast and simple. I don't understand the negative comments on here about Newegg. All I can say is Newegg has always been great for me, with good prices, good customer service, good product selection and fast shipping. I will continue using Newegg exclusively. They would really have to screw up and on more than one occasion for me to get upset. Anybody can have a mishap!

Never had anything but excellent service. Ordered the wrong cpu but didn't open it. Their policy said no returns, but they accepted it anyway. Once had a rebate not be honored, they gave credit for the same amount.

I have had nothing but success with newegg.com, who I've been buying PC parts for more than a a decade. The few times I had any issue they quickly and painlessly resolved my issue to my great satisfaction. The have an 800# as well as live chat so they are alway available...and their return policy has been in my experience hassle free. I don't even bother with mom & Pop shops anymore for a deal, I just go to newegg.com

I have shopped at NewEgg for years and I love the place. Their web site is very good and their product selection is excellent. Prices are always fair. But their two finest characteristics are (1) incredibly fast shipping, and (2) no-questions-asked returns.

I would recommend them to anyone in the market for electronics of all kinds.
