I got an email from onstar today saying the theft alarm was activated. My son and his wife are using the car with my consent. They have no idea why the alarm was activated.

I attempted to call the number on the email. After being jerked around by their phone tree. The recording told me it would be a five to ten minute wait. It was much longer than that. I was subjected to a mindless recording tellin me how important it was to talk with a human who would treat me as family. This repeated every 45 seconds or so with an annoying heap in between. The whole thing seemed designed to frustrate.

I finally hung up.

For months I have tried to cancel my subscription on a vehicle I no loner have. They can't find my account, so they can't cancel it. They keep charging me each month. They say they need the VIN of my vehicle, which I no longer have. I have given them all my information and they can't pull up my account unless I give them the VIN of the vehicle. So if you are going to sell you vehicle, make sure you cancel first.

I have called on Star over a dozen times. Every time they say they will take care of my issue and call me back tomorrow. I have even went through supervisors, same thing. I have never gotten a return call, ever! I can't call the corporate office, the number has been disconnected! Worst company ever. God help anyone who would ever have to call for help.

To anybody that is looking to purchase OnStar I highly do not recommend it. Six months ago I had an incident on a back road where I needed to call 911 and I had no cell phone service and was in the ditch the 911 call required police because there was a gun involved with a fellow with metal issues. By pressing the SOS button and any of the other buttons that were on the mirror for my OnStar connection nothing would work OnStar was unable to connect to the vehicle and when I contacted OnStar two months later to ask about what happened they told me that on star actually goes off of cell phone towers and if there is no cell phone service there is no OnStar so being on a back road having OnStar thinking I was safe I actually was not. For somebody who has kids or an old parents or grandparents I highly recommend not relying on OnStar because they will not always be there unless you are right within cell service. You would think also with OnStar being in pick up trucks that pick up trucks are not always used in the city and are used for work whether it's out in fields or out in forestry and that is usually where there is no cell service so if anything actually goes wrong while you are not connected to any tower you are on your own. At the end of this whole ordeal OnStar recognized that there was a problem and that 911 was tried to reach over the OnStar so they gave me two months service free which to me is useless if it doesn't work.

They don't stop billing you no matter what you do! I called and the kid on the phone started to cry! Wtf?? Onstar is horrible, I can't believe dealerships recommend them! Beat advice I can give is DO NOT GET ONSTAR!

Whatever they tell you get it in writing. Very deceptive, and their billing is fraudulent.
I was told that I would get 3 months of services without any billing.

This is a borderline scam. You get it with the new vehicle on a trial basis - and when the trial is over, they keep bugging you to extend. I really tried to extend, but the structure of the plans is totally convoluted. All they want you to do is "call". So you call, and they begrudgingly tell you it's $ 59 PER MONTH to extend. I ask what cheaper plans they have, and they say "give me your credit card info, and we'll give you 2 more months for free - THEN we'll tell you what other plans we have. Seriously? Then my call was dropped twice (I'm sure I'm talking to an overseas call center). Done with this BS and glad I never signed up.

I was trying to cancel my plan today and they offer more than half for what i am paying which is $41/month..i said no,.and hold me for 20 minute only to hang me up.called up again and the same process abd offers, i said just cancell my plan..let me wait for another 20 min only to say they cant cancel it due to technical issue and will take 3 to 5 business days to fix it.

I have been a client with onstar for 12 years.
I have never used your services. But I needed your services today. I am 64 years old. I drive a Buick Enclave snd was stopped by the police because I forgot to renew my insurance and drivers licence.
Because it's Sunday I could not colorectal this. The police told me that I could not drive my car.
So I called onstar for help. They said thst they would not help me. Because my car was drivable.
I have paid over $10,000.00 in total over the years.
I am cancelling my subscription.
To anyone who is reading this. Don't pay in star another time. I paid 100.00 to the towing company today. So I overpaid onstar $9900.00.
I'm putting this message in every social media page I can.

On Sunday, 10/10/21, my car became stuck on a Colorado rock that I could not see. The car needed to be winched off the rock. I called Onstar. And called. And called. I spoke with multiple people. One lady was nice enough to tell me that I could call for help on my own and get reimbursed. That is what I did. It is now Tuesday, 10/12. Onstar NEVER sent help. Never!. They COMPLETELY failed me. Completely.

I bought a new car in june 2021. The dealer made me sign up for Onstar on the lot. Gave them all my info etc. Then in August of 21 i called Onstar with my car only to be told i dont have an account with them and the vehicle is still registered with the dealer. They asked me if i want to register and i declined bc i was going to cancel anyhow. On September 27th i have a charge for over 42$ on m6 account. When i call to complain they still dont see me in the system on the dealer. That was 2 weeks ago im still waiting in my refund.

I am going to cancel Onstar. 90% of the females that have assisted me have been very kind and patient and very very helpful. Unfortunately some of the females have been very impatient.90% of the males Have been rude and simply pay play games. A few times I've been told that I would be connected to a technician when it was just another young male playing games and laughing oh yes I'll send you the route right now was not my question. I cannot believe that they are not constantly monitored to ensure a more positive reputation.

I called OnStar fully intending to cancel my service that I was paying for, but not using because I did not know I actually had it.(Totally my fault that I had not checked my monthly credit card statement)Rodney could not have been a better person with whom to speak. By the time we ended our call, I not only did not cancel, but I upgraded. He did not pressure me in any way at all; he explained what I could get , not only for myself, but for my family members. He deserves a huge shout-out! Please share this with him, his supervisor - everyone! Also, however you handle this, please recognize his outstanding performance supporting yur company.

I don't know what company makes business calls at 8pm on a Friday night. "Dan" from Onstar calls me and states we are on a recorded line (boy I sure hope so). This man sounded like he was high as a kite. I mean WTF! Who actually calls to tell me my "trial" period is up and time to renew when I have been a loyal customer for the past 10 years. Get your dodo together and hire knowledgeable and respectful people! I hope you follow up with this and fire Dan from Onstar.

Just paid off my truck and got a notice they shut me off on onstar! Don't bother getting it as they are paid just to sit around and do nothing! They told me No Basic anymore. Was looking at Chevy cars as my Jeep is tired, but what they just pulled on me I'm looking into Fords

I have had On-star for 10 years on numerous cars with no trouble. Now my service needed to renew and they have technical issues and cannot renew. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Give me the same line every call...we have referred you to level 3 technical services. THIS IS BS. There probably is no such person. They give no updates as they promised and I have never begged anyone to take my money before in my life. I have spent over 5 hours on the phone and called and called for 2 months now.

After 14 years as an OnStar customer, I am canceling services due to multiple poor customer service issues.
1. They continued to charge my card for a vehicle I didn't own after services were supposed to be transferred to my new vehicle. I only discovered this when I needed OnStar services for the new vehicle and they said I didn't have that vehicle on my account. Turns out I was still paying for OnStar on the 2007 vehicle that I sold 2 years prior. As a result, I had been paying a monthly subscription for over 2 years for a vehicle I didn't own anymore. No offers for a refund or an attempt to make it right.
2. Instead of canceling the 2007 vehicle, they canceled my 2015 work vehicle. I discovered later that my 2015 no longer had an OnStar service because they canceled the wrong one.
3. My keys got accidentally locked in the car of my 2015 personal vehicle. The app couldn't remotely unlock it and neither could the OnStar reps. I spent hours on the phone with multiple reps..no one could get my vehicle to receive the signal. They all kept telling me to just sign out and then sign back in on the app. They told me it was an issue with my vehicle. I had to call back when I could get in the vehicle and push the blue button. I did that and they still couldn't get a connection on my car. I never had these connection problems until they updated the app. Now my car can't connect with my app or even the OnStar team remotely. So why am I paying for this service if I can't even have remote access to the key fob?
I have spent hours on the phone with reps. Most of them were not at all helpful and just kept putting me on hold. Supposedly the tech services department was going to fix this but I have yet to hear from them. It's too bad...OnStar was amazing when it first came out. Now I can't even get service on the correct vehicles or remotely access my key fob. Not worth paying for anymore.

This company has been charging our company card fraudulently for years!!! We just found out from our company capital one card that the secretary has been paying this monthly on our card since December 2014!!!! WE HAVE NEVER HAD ONSTAR!!!! I don't know how you got our card number but this is total bull!!! When you push the button in our truck it says we don't have it and when we call they say we don't have it but then our capital one tells us that we've been paying since 2014!!! Yall owe us over $4000 back!!!!!!!! This is crap!

Requested Onstar to transfer service from a vehicle I traded to a newly purchased vehicle. They continued to bill me for the traded vehicle and when I discovered the billing error they refused to fully refund me all the money they collected in error. Took months for them to respond. Worst customer service and billing departments ever!!

My Chevy app doesn't work I've been on the phone with OnStar multiple times now I can't seem to fix it I would like my money back it's the worst possible system as a GM employee I am very disappointed OnStar sucks and I'm done with them
