I registered a number of domains in 2005 with Register.com. in 2010, a web developer created a site for me and requested that I move it to another provider. I contacted Register and talked about the need to move the site and that I was not unhappy with their service. After receiving two emails offering me new services to remain a customer and stating the process would take effect on 2/2/2010 (transfer began on 1/30/2010), I called them. The result of this contact to them has pushed the transfer of the domain back. It is now February 3rd and the domain is still at Register. I will never use Register.com - unfortunately, these days you never know what company is related to another.

I registered my domain, and upgraded my email package with REGISTER . COM to 10+ email package. THey have charged me for this service, But I am unable to logon to any email account. I have contacted them daily and they dont do anything besides asking me to repeat the same process over and over again. I have been told every day that this has been routed to the correct department and they will get into touch with me, and I am still waiting ... I have requested managers details via the support messenger and via the support email address, they are refusing to supply me with this information. I am stuck with a call centre that I cannot escalate a issue with for resolution, they keep on closing the incedents instead of keeping them open till resolved and I have paid for a service that lasts for 365 days - the time taken for them to hopefully one day fix this issue. . . I HAVE NEVER BEEN DENIED THE RIGHT TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER BEFORE !!! SHAME ON YOU AND SHAME ON YOUR CALL CENTRE !!! I AM BEING ROBBED!!!

For the first time ever my email is not working and the phone line is busy. Your service has been excellent until now and now it is worthless. People rely upon you for their business and you are letting them down.

I can't get through to speak to a customer service rep... have been waiting for a very long tim. I have tried several times. I can't pull up email and my website is not up! What's going on?

Just an awful service. Tech support is Ok but email site is so so slow. Ancient and hard to work with. Just up with the "modern" version and it is far worse than the "classic."

It's obvious that Register.com, like the old AOL, purposely makes it difficult for customers to leave their service. To get an "Auth Code" to transfer a domain name to another company, you have to call Register.com Mon-Fri between 9 and 5. They keep you on hold for 15-20 minutes, then transfer you to somebody else, hold again for 15-20 mins and hope the call doesn't drop. Then the customer service rep stalls as long as possible by trying to convince you to stay with them. They know that busy people who work "normal" jobs can't take this kind of time during the work day to make these calls, and they probably get a lot of people who just give up and retain Register.com because they're too tired to fight. This is deplorable customer service...and if their prices were more competitive with Godaddy, maybe they wouldn't have so many people like me switching!

I've had a terrible experience with Register.com.

I have been trying to transfer my domain away from them for over 6 months now, and they continue to use delay tactics to postpone the transfer. Additionally, every time I contact them to reinitiate the transfer process, they try to re-sell me hosting services or ad-clogged parked domain pages.

Customer service has been responsive and polite, but ultimately unable to complete the transaction as I have requested.
