UNION BANK SUCKS! i tried to withdraw, transaction was completed from the machine, but the money did'nt come out. and they said that i need to wait from 1 to 3 business days! they got my money that fast, but for them to give it back it'll take 4 days ! come on!

This Jenifer Diaz who just recently processed my eon account was very rude and not very helpful at all i asked her some info but she will answer back in a sarcastic way as if I have done her wrong..she actually asked a lot of identification from me so I have to go back home and get it but when i came back the bank was closed so i have to return the next day. When i came back this same girl told me that some of the documents that i brought is not necessary!!!! REALLY??!!! those are the documents that she actually asked me to bring!

I had a problem with this bank since December. They had taken my money and tried to blame it to another Merchant because I was using my card for POS transaction. They told me to wait 15 to 85 working days just to get my money. I mean WTF?! The merchant already contacted them and said that they didn't have the money. They had taken my money and tried to come up with lame excuses. I am gonna try to send now a forward complain to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilinas. I tried to research and they have a contact number for all banking complaints. I suggest for all of you guys do the same so this bank can get what they deserve! Here is the link.

Union bank is the worst bank and wrong choice I ever made. Payoneer transferred my payment last Dec. 22, 2014 and never arrived to my account until now. I went to this bank several times but keep saying no money was transferred to my account. WTF!! Payoneer provided me all the documents I could use for this stupid bank to trace the payment but until now no feedback from them...A lot of people also complaining that their current savings were gone and only cents were left..If you'll ask them if there's issue with their system, they will just tell you" we can't disclose any info to you"...WTF!!! what kind of bank is this... THIS BANK CAN"T BE TRUSTED. PLEASE DON'T EVER TRY OPENING AN ACCOUNT TO UNIONBANK..YOUR FUNDS WILL BE PUT IN DANGER...

This is the worst bank ever. I lost my debit card because somebody stole my wallet. All of my IDs and cards were in that wallet. I went to the bank so that I could replace my card. I was told that I had to get an affidavit of loss first. I also asked if I can do over the counter because I needed my funds. I was so disappointed because I could not. My card was lost during Holiday season so I decided to get an affidavit of loss after a week. I went to a public lawyer and asked for an the required document. When I came back to the bank, they told me that they do not accept affidavit of loss without doc no. I was infuriated becase I was never told about it. I called the bank many times and I also visited two of their branches however I was never told about it. This bank is incompetent and should close.

I have been a customer since 1975!! After two owner changes and years of service with much $$$ and loans, they are closing the two branches close to men, in a major metropolitan area, and virtually causing me to close my accounts and withdraw my belongings from my save deposit box. So much for foreign ownership
I was dedicated, they weren't.

I really dont have a choice from banking with unionbank since it is my payroll account. Im so done with their customer service and all i wanted right now is to know how to reach the higher management so as to escalate my issue and to file a formal complaint with the people whom the clients first interaction takes place. They are non other than the customer service.

I called yesterday to verify if the ATM/system is down since I was not able to withdraw money from 6 different ATM machines (including 2 Unionbank ATM). I usually choose option 1 for lost/stolen credit card to immediately get a live person to talk to.

I got agent "Rona" who was at first pleasant when I asked regarding the system issue. She placed me on hold and informed me she will transfer me to option 5 (or something). I declined to be transferred and asked her to at least verify it with her Supervisor regarding my concern. She then interrupted me with "you pressed the wrong option.." Anyway, I told her I've been going around to 6 ATMs and it still not letting me withdraw money.

Call lasted about 18 minutes long going back and forth regarding my concern and "Rona" insistent for me to be transferred. I then asked for her Supervisor. I was place on hold for a about a hundred years with no updates. She went back saying "there is no need to talk to a supervisor since the concern is not with their department. I mean WTF?! After how many long hold and dead air "Rona" informed that there was indeed an issue with bancnet, etc and I just have to withdraw with a megalink logo.

I mean it took her 30 excruciating minutes -- to tell me the only information I needed. The assurance that there was indeed an issue and I just have to withdraw maybe later during the day or withdraw in an ATM with megalink logo.

I still insisted in talking to a supervisor, in which I was placed on hold. She went back saying yet again "there is no need to talk to my Supervisor since she will just give me the same information".

The name of the Supervisor is Joan Cabrera. Which she eventually gave when I told her I will not drop the call.

I am a very easy to please customer, but with all the BAD experiences I have with Unionbank -- it is way to unacceptable. I am a very disatisfied customer!

I would like to send you my complaint.
Please provide me Customer Advocate Deparment email. It seems it is not possible to reach your customer service by email, it is bad.

Why does not Union Bank provide email address for customer service or complaints?
It is important that you be able correct your wrong doings and customer response.

BANK FAILED TO DISCLOSE TERMS OF LOAN

We were given a Commitment Letter for a Mortgage in April 2007. At which time we asked about the vague language regarding the prepayment penalty and the interest rate. We were told by the Bank that the prepayment penalty was 5 years and that the Bank didn’t have time to prepare the remainder of the closing papers or send further details to us prior to closing on the Loan. At no time did the Bank explain the “real terms” of the deal.

When we signed the loan documents, we only had a few minutes to do so because the Bank got them to escrow at the very last minute. If we did not sign right then and there, the loan/purchase would’ve fallen through.

A few months ago we contacted the Bank about paying off the Loan, which we thought we could do based upon the Bank’s advising us that the term of the Loan was 5 years. At that time our principal balance due was $521,177 and the Bank told us that in order to pay off the Loan we would have to pay an additional prepayment penalty of $146,000.00 because the term of the Loan is 20 years. This effectively gives us no ability to pay off the Loan. Additionally, the Bank also gave us vague language regarding the interest rate, which they arbitrarily made up at closing.

We have made every payment on time and despite that the Bank refuses to work with us or have a meaningful conversation. Despite several requests to discuss this with the Bank, they send us form letters stating the same thing over and over again. They have been completely unprofessional and unwilling to work with long time customers.

We feel that the Bank bated and switched us, knowing at closing that we were buying a property and at closing wouldn’t have a choice but to sign whatever documentation they gave us.

Union Bank is AWFUL. Would give 0 Stars if possible. They recently started re-ordering your debits and make largest ones hit first (didn't other banks get in trouble for this years ago). This is just a FYI as I don't make charges that won't clear but I do not feel that manipulation on your transactions is on the up and up.

Union Bank has just recently started holding direct deposits in pending status for 2 days after they have received direct deposit. My direct deposits have been done for over 2 years and this "holding" has only consistantly started occurring within the last 3 months.

Worst Teller customer experience: When I tried to make a $80.00 cash withdrawal to keep $40.00 and put $40.00 into another account that I am not on. Simple right? $80.00 out of my account. Keep $40 cash and hand deposit slip and $40 for another account deposit on an account I am not on. (Not possible for me to do a transfer to the other account because I am not on the other account). The teller rudely help up my $80 withdrawal slip in front of my face and ripped it up. Told me I didn't do it correctly and made me fill out 2 withdrawal slips from my account each for $40. NEVER in 4 years have I been told I filled out my withdrawal slip incorrectly when doing this very same transaction. To make me fill out 2 withdrawal slips like this was beyond reasonable for a simple transaction.

DAY I DECIDED ENOUGH! Had a Union Bank Rep do a pending debit "release" directly with the merchant on the telephone who was trying to credit my account back for a charge that had not gone through yet (in pending status) and UNION BANK put the "released" charge through the account anyway and debited the account and paid the merchant. Now Union Bank is claiming that it is the merchant's fault and they committed fraud. HUH? recap: Union Bank Rep does a release on the pending debit directly with the merchant on the phone and Union Bank pays the mrechant and it's the merchant's fault!!!

They are now telling me that for me to have the money they paid the merchant, I have to file a claim against the merchant for the fraudulent charge which can take anywhere from 10-90 days. Have they lost their friggin minds? The merchant didn't commit fraud. The merchant was crediting the account back and Union Bank PAID them after they "released" the charge.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK! They "play" with your money at your loss and expense and blame everyone else.

This bank has turned obsolutely horrible! When they were Union Bank of California, they were better than any other bank in my area. NOW since becoming just Union Bank, I have never been treated so badly from any other bank ever.
I do not like being treated like a criminal for wanting to make a withdrawal from my checking account

Posted by UNION Sucks!

I will never bank with UNION again. They treated me like crap everytime I walked into the branch. Never friendly. Only the consistantly turnovered tellers were kind. Not organized, no customer service. I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone!!

Just wanted to share my horrible experience (UnionBank Customer Service). Please read the letter that I sent to UnionBank Executives. -----
Hello,

I am not a customer just yet. I wanted to be your customer as I have read very good reviews about UnionBank.

Unfortunately, the service I have received earlier this afternoon is not only unacceptable, it IS my WORST experience in Philippine Banking Customer Service. Because of this, I chose not to transact with you anymore and chose to NOT RECOMMEND you to any of my fellow freelancers.

I am a freelance outsource worker from oDesk. I am paid weekly through remittances from a company in the US and am considering to use UnionBank EON to accept my weekly salary. I submitted my application and thoroughly read your EON card policies and requirements. I was told to claim my card in the branch I chose. I picked UnionBank Richville, Alabang Branch as I am familiar with its location.

I was directed to be helped by CECIL R. MARCELO. I was greeted with an unfriendly face and a snobbish demeanor. Anyway, I presented 2 valid government issued IDs (requirements to claim the card per your directions online) and I filled out a form. When CECIL saw my permanent address in the application form- that is different from my address in my IDs, she rejected my application with an unfriendly tone after numerous questions about my work and why I needed the EON card.

I felt as if I am not qualified to use your bank's services because I am a freelance worker. What made it worse is, during the whole "transaction" she did not even smile.

To tell you honestly, I didn't expect that a reputable bank will be provide such poor customer service.

1. It did not necessarily specify on the site that you needed IDs that bear my permanent residence address/ address that will be placed in the application form2. It did not say on the site that applying for an EON card will also include an interview with a teller/customer service rep.

I could have taken things lightly if only I was greeted and informed by a friendly face and tone.

People I know will be informed of this unsatisfactory service that you provide.

I had an account and a mortgage with Union Bank for 6 years. In all that time I had nothing but problems with them. I would make payments on time then they would take days to proocess them ...so they would be late and then they would call and ask why I was late! They were rude and insulting when I called and never knew what was happening. I have closed all my accounts and would never go back there again.

Posted by james2012

I closed my account and it had zero balance.
After it was closed, they started piling on the montly fees and that triggered overdraft and other fees that they kept piling on after the account was closed.

Union bank is stuck on procedure and not on customer service. In closing out a commercial loan they were unwilling to send out a final statement for the loan. They were not willing to send any official document indicating how much of the final payment was spent ( fees, payoff, interest etc ). This bank is a customer disservice.

If you don't have a Union Bank account, it's not possible to speak with a live person thru that toll free number that is shown. I doubt you can even get through if you're an account holder. I don't have a bank account at Union Bank, and anytime I take a check that was written to me by a Union Bank account holder, I am charged $5.00 to get it cashed at a Union Bank branch. That's outright robbery.
