I had booked a rental online from Alamo on Friday evening. But once i went to pick it up i was refused the rental because i didn't have an actual credit card. I have an ATM with the visa logo on it. I have never had this problem before, and I'm a frequent car renter. I find it rediculous and disappointing that Alamo does business like this. Refuse a rental because of no credit card!

Per reading your debit (ATM) requirements on your website, it states that all ATM need to have a visa, mastercard etc logo on them in order to complete the transaction. Therefore why was the associate so rude and a butt about me paying $37.00 with my ATM?!

I think that Alamo should let the customer know in advance, before booking that NO ATM is accepted even if it does have a VISA, Mastercard logo on them. Or train your employees better and make them read and memorize the "requirements" for ATM.

I don't think ill be using your business again. Very disappointed in the customer service, unhappy and very unpleasant experience.

I reserved a standard SUV from Atlanta Airport and put on there that I would be getting in around midnight. After a long travel day I go to get the car I reserved. The guy at the counter looks somewhat panicked when he pulled up my reservation. He call back to the lot and tells them what car. The person says there is only 1 left but it hasn't been cleaned. He makes no effort to say anything to me about this. I go to the lot and the first thing I see is this filthy car. There is dirt all on the outside, the windshield has bug splatter all over it. Then I open the door....OMG....the smell was horrendous. It smelt like the entire high school football team left their stinky socks in it, not to mention the gas tank wasn't even full. I said something to the person when we pulled up to check out put I was informed that it was the only SUV available. The next day when I got to Columbus, GA where I returned the car I informed them of all that happened and they said someone would get in contact with me. I did receive a call that I missed. I tried calling the Atlanta office (the number the person left) back. I have called so many time but no one has ever answered nor has anyone ever called me back even though I have left multiple voice messages. This is the worse customer service ever. Hopefully by leaving this message the word will get out.

NEVER USE AlAMO! They added a fuel surcharge when I returned the car (pick up in Columbia, SC - drop off in Greenville). I immediately questioned it since I had filled the tank completely just before return and the tank said full. The attendant told me she could not take it off- was an automatic charge and would have to file a complaint at the desk. I went inside (trying to catch a plane this was not convenient). Agent told me this happened all the time and it was embarrassing to her. Promised to give me a refund on my credit card. No refund was ever posted.

I had reserved a car for 8/20/2105 for pick up at DFW airport arriving on 8/20/2015. Our flight got delayed for almost 10 hours. UA387 from EWR to DFW was delyed for almost 10 hours. I called Alamo to advised them. I was advised the location at DFW will close at 11pm and I would not be able to pick up the car after 11pm. Therefore, I picked up the car on 8/21/2015. When I went to pick up the car on 8/21/2015, the agent advised me the location was open for 24 hours and I could have picked up the car 0n 8/20/2015. The agent on the phone misinformed me and I lost one day and to take a cab to the hotel.

I was very disappointed with service provided and misinformation. Therefor, i request full reimbursement of my rental expenses.

Good evening to you guys. I rented one of your Toyota corolla from Sunday to Today (Tuesday 25th). The customer service and vehicle was excellent. I will definitely come again. I rented one of the travel tans and proceeded to Miami beach with my family. Having to drop off the vehicle by the stipulated time frame I decided to proceed to you rather than the hotel to drop of my family. That may have resulted in me incurring additional charges. On that nite I forget the travel tab case at the hotel which is located on 107Av. Approximately 30 mins from you. I am flying out of the US on Thursday afternoon and would rather drop off the travel tab case. Failing that I would have to hire a cab which way exceeds the cost of the case. Kindly bare with me and allow me the extra time and I will definitely drop it off when I get to the airport.

Had to listen to music and recorded message thanking me for continuing to hold. Fifteen minutes later and still listening to the stupid recording, I hung up. Experiences like this make me never want to deal with Alamo again. My issue was of course, unresolved

We Will Never Rent Another Car From Alamo. We Took Out The Insurance And We Were Rear Ended And After We Gave Them All The Insurance Info 4 Times On The Limo Company That Hit Us They Did Nothing. They Sent Us A Bill. We Called Them Several Times And Left Messages With The Info On It And No One Ever Called Us Back. Worst Customer Service.

Making the reservation was very easy BUT, later, trying to reach a live customer service human was VERY difficult. My plane was cancelled and I was rebooked on a late flight, all I wanted was to be assure there would be a representative in Savannah at 12:30 pm. I called 4 times, getting stuck in the endless cycle of computer voices. When I did FINALlY get someone and I voiced my frustration, she disconnected me and I was back at the beginning of the queue- and I was not even hot tempered! Very poor customer service.

Don't ever rent a car from Alamo, national or any of the car rental agencies from the Hartsville jackson airport in Atlanta. They are not friendly at all. I left something important I the car I rent for 2 weeks and when I go back within minutes to retrieve the item and the car was gone. Had to wait almost an hour for them to find the car and bring me the item. Just rude and incompetent people. NEVER AGAIN will I rent from the airport.

Lied and ripped me off stealing $450 from my credit card!! Terrible customer support and service. I will never trust Alamo again. Will always go to Avis. Puerto Vallarta location. AVOID AVOID AVOID!! They are fraudulent in their dealings.

I rented a car from the Puerto Vallarta Alamo location. They charged $450 to my credit card when I had only agreed to $75. I called the US, Mexican and International head offices, and they all refused to credit me back the money that was taken fraudulently. I was forced to sign all of the insurance papers, even though I declined it. I was lied to, being told that the $450 was completely refundable. This location is fraudulent, and the head office does not care and will not support you. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! I use Avis all the time now. I rent tons of cars, so stupid Alamo has lost a lot more business than the $300 that I wanted credited back to me.

when I rented pickup truck in usa online total price given for Dominican Republic was 554.29.when I picked up vehicle at Santa Domingo they tryed to give me a manual shift I pre ordered autmatic and alamo didnt have it waited 1 hour for what I pre-ordered then was charged 800 us dollers on wifes credit card.will re negociate when back in usa also vehicle has cockroaches and brakes lockup when using additional payment of 44.95us dollers for fuel before recieving truck.radio dont work truck dents every panel bottom line is do not rent from alamo national while visiting Dominican Republic!!!!

Returned car to Alamo Jacksonville FL airport at 3:55 pm left white jacket in back seat returned 20 min later told jacket must be at customer service and they closed at 4:00 pm or car was rented in 20 min? Someone at Alamo Jacksonville FL know where the jacket is and I want my jacket returned.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Eight weeks later I am still finding charges being added to my AMX card. After multiple attempts to straighten the problem out I have concluded that the customer service rep, Shenell, either was not familiar with English or else was just unwilling to be of assistance. Will NEVER rent from Alamo again and will steer all I know to not make the mistake of renting from them.

Worst customer service ever!
I left my stuff on the car the took it and didn't want to give it back to me and they are even complaining that I have called to complain. They are not thustfull and I don't think it is worth the price to pay cheaper but lose important stuff.I will never deal with them again worst experience ever

Horrible Customer Service!!!
Rented a car from the Sky Harbor International Airport, returned the car on May 26, 2015.
Realized I left my GPS and IPhone car charger. Yes, I know this is my fault but have followed their policies/procedures to see if someone turned it in. I have called several times the only people that I can get a hold of is the reservations line. They would be more than happy to rent me a car but if I have a problem that's when you can't get a hold of anyone that is willing to help. I have a screen shot showing that I was on hold for over an hour. I know stupid for me to hold that long!! But was hoping someone would finally pick up the line. Was told someone from the Sky Harbor Alamo office would call me back within two hours but of course no one did...UGH...so frustrating!! I think their corporate office should know what horrible customer service this company has!!!

When I arrived the woman at the reservation desk told me I had rented a small car and would not like driving in Chicago in a "half Car" and pushed very hard for me to upgrade and I paid for one.
When I went to pick up the car the attendant told me there was no smaller cars in their fleet. Basically I paid extra for what they would have given me in the first place. It is poor business when your employees lie to a customer for a little extra cash. I am VP of operations for a company with 200 employees and if that were to happen at pone of my locations, I would fire that employee immediately. Customer service should be of top priority in any company. Just a foot note, my flight from Chicago to Houston was delayed due to flooding and I rented another car but not thru Alamo.

My wife and I go to the USA twice a year. And now, because now we have a 2 year old daughter, our main destination is Orlando and we always rent a mini van.
Lately we have preferred renting with Alamo for many reasons and the main one is that we can freely choose our car on the patio.
Last April, because we trust and rely on Alamo, we had a prepaid reservation. Althought, arriving in Miami International (this time we arrived in Miami and left from Orlando), we were surprised to know we would not be able to choose our mini van on the patio and also that depending on the model of the minivan, we would have to pay extra 12 dollars a day.
So, choosing a town and country, we had to pay 12 extra dollars for each of the 21 days we would have the car.
We thought that was very bad, but we were there with a crying toddler and with a prepaid voucher so had to accept it.
A few days later, meeting my father, that also had an Alamo mini van he´s rented in Orlando International, he told us that he didn´t have to pay any extra fees for his town and country, which was brand new and the latest model there is, with all the perks and everything.
We felt betrayed, specially because we had a prepaid voucher, that shows our trust in the rental company, and we think this extra charge is totally unfair.
We would like to know is this is the condition Alamo is renting now so we can decide about our future rentals.

i have currently opened an investigation,,after losing my cash as payment for the rental car from alamo recently, to avoid the CC charge, the bill i received does not reflect the cash paymet, and the counter person is denying he received the cash, I am not a frequent traveler and there was no indication that cash was not to be used for payment, and these people are telling me that there are no cameras there to record any transactions at the airport,....if i ever travel again and need a car i will avoid alamo like the plague

After march 16 I have been receving several charges for tolls from New York, the latest a few hours ago. Alamo refused to honor my reservation once I had landed in Las Vegas on 04/04/ 2015

Alamo claimed that I was on some sort of do not rent list...from Enterprise rental car over an Insurance dispute in February 2013......

that is a full 21 days AFTER I had paid them.......... for my trip

Exactly why did Alamo wait until I was 2000 miles from Home on a Saturday night to tell me this ???

Why did ( Alamo) confirm my car reservation, when Alamo had no intention of renting me a car ???
I had to dig in my pocket on April 4th to pay for an additional rental car

I have never been so dissatisfied with any car rental company. I never had this experience with any car rental company. I never, never used this company again and I planned to announce in my Facebook to advise my friends and everybody not to use Alamo again. I got a reservation for Costa Rica branch and when I was there no car, no call back to help me, no explanation, nothing.

I have never been so dissatisfied with any car rental company. I have had an issue for the past 2 weeks. It has yet to be resolved. My frustration level has reached an all time high.
