stihl products are not reliable. I bought a backpack blower and used very little but it had a serious breakdown not worth fixing. Stihl response is below.

Good afternoon

Your BR600 (serial #516969810) was purchased in 2018. This blower would have a 1 year home owner warranty that would have been extended to a two year with the purchase of extra oil. The warranty would have expired around November 16th 2020. As with any product there is no set period of how long a unit will last. There are many variables that come into play. For small engines some of the influences that can affect how long a unit runs include the fuel used, operating conditions, maintenance schedules, even the climate can all have an effect on how long components of a machine will last.

Bought a Stihl chainsaw six weeks ago. It never started or throttled correctly, and ran "rough", indicating a dearth of fuel. The local Ace Hardware where I bought it has had no mechanic for two years so my saw was "farmed out" to another location. I,ve had about five days' use of the saw. Ace refuses a refund. Please send me by email the identity of your Registered Agent for service of process so that I may initiate litigation if the saw is not replaced right away.

My dad used Stihl chainsaws, and i have been buying and using them. I bought a 250C a few years ago and loved it. Its getting old and worn so uesterday I bought a new 211C . . . I absolutely hate it! The new style chain tensioner system is horrible! I'm taking it back tomorrow and won't be getting another Stihl unless it's a good used one someplace. Just thought you should know.

I have 4(four) STIHL products,grass-trimmer,Farmboss chainsaw, tiller and leaf-blower.I would not ever again buy any one of them. They are the least ergonomically designed products, absolutely non user friendly and poorly engineered. In other words, nobody at STIHL gives a damn about the guy who was dumb enough to part with hid money for a STIHL product.STIHL talks a good game, that is where it ends. The products, besides being very cheaply made but good looking are not particularly reliable either. As for STIHL, get to know your customer and their needs and likes while you have any left. As for me, four losers in my workshop are enough, there won't be a fifth one. Peter C. Ebner Bethel Park PA

I am a loyal customer who owns 4 Stihl products and has always found them reliable. I bought a professional grade pole saw, used it four time the following year , stored as per recommendation put in Stihl gas and it wouldn't run smoothly. The first dealer told me the compression was shot, the second told me the carb was flooding and I needed another, a $350 fix.
Stihl online warranty says 2 years yet they say my warranty is expired. Do you think it's OK for a professional grade pole saw to last four uses? Customer services just blows me off.

I had a problem at one of your dealer locations. Owner would not listen to my complaint. Pointed his finger right in my face and called me a liar. He was yelling in front of everyone in the store. I really thought he was gonna hit me.. He's a very angry man and should not be able to treat customers the way he does.. It took them almost 3 weeks to fix my chain saw. And I told them I would like my old parts. And he threw them away. I feel like they were mine and I specifically told him I wanted them. He lied about the problem. Chain saw is just over 2 years old.... Like I said , the problem was I wanted my old parts and for som3 reason, he didn't want me to have them. I am calling the BBB and I also want to file a complaint on this man and the business. How do I go about this. They had my saw 18 days to replace a carburetor and a coil.... And I called and spoke several times to them.

Attempted to order a replacement battery for a battery-operated trimmer. Could not locate a local dealer and contacted Stihl, Inc. and asked where I could order and their response was that it could not be ordered directly from them and each individual dealer was responsible for providing their products and had no idea which dealer carried the battery I needed to order. Sent me a link to dealer locations. Unbelievable! As much as I liked their product, will not buy another Stihl product of any type.

I used to swear by stihl chainsaws Back in the day. Now they're just made so cheap you constantly have to adjust the carburetor on them and they're just crap now. I have quite a few stihl chainsaws. But I won't be buying any more stihl products until they start making them better like the use to.

Bought a shihl weed eater ran good only 2 times took to repair shop 3 times and still doesn't run good will not stay running I will never bye their equipment again I'm getting rid of this one and going back to my old Husqvarna that I never had problems with I wouldn't recommend shihl to anyone I think they're garbage that's just my opinion

I have bought 3 F5-56RC weed eaters over a period of 10-20 years, I hate the latest one I bought. It is harder to put the string in and use. It doesn't release the string without getting balled up and having to restring.. It does not accept a heavy string. So far the motor is fine, but EVERY time I weed eat, I have string problems. Your so called improvement is just the opposite.

Don't need to deal with customer service. I smashed my weedeater in the street in front of all my neighbors and I will never buy another stihl product again. My chainsaw needs a carborator every half season. The products are garbage. I'm throwing the brand new chainsaw in the garbage. Why would I put the burden of that equipment on someone else. In two years this equipment has cost me over 45 hrs in wages and well beyond that just in aggravation. My only hope is that everyone in the company gets any one of these pieces of equipment so they know what it's like to have a expensive power tool that doesn't work when they need it the most. Its not rocket science, there is no new technology. Why waste more of my time contacting customer service. I'm done with stihl forever and so will everyone of my friends and neighbors. There was a bunch of money down a rathole. Thanks for nothing.

My Stijl weed eater runs great. But I spend 3/4 of my weedeating time taking the head off because the line will not feed. Maybe one time in ten. I've been trying to weedeat my yard for three days. Never will I recommend these weed eaters or buy one again. Very very disappointing

Do not buy the gas powered chain saw. If you enjoy working on your saw and spending hours getting it started then this is the saw for you. It has been a problem from day one. I had a huskvarna I bought in 1979. It started reliably after sitting at times for months. I replaced with the Stijl MS 290 only because a tree branch fell on the huskvarna and I couldn't replace the part. Every time I use the Stihl I get concerned for it becomes the battle of getting it started. DO NOT BUY THE GAS DRIVEN SAW. OH AND THE REPAIR SHOPS ARE NO HELP.

The Stihl dealer on Vinden Street, Midland Ontario is a complete and utter embarassment and you should be very concerned that he is one of your dealers. All through Midland he us known as a unstable and very unprofessional person. His name is Randy something. He would not look at my Stihl product for warranty only saying it needed a new carbarator with even looking at it. He was rude aggressive and an embarassment. I will not go back there ever and I will be telling everyone I know about my experience. Very disappointed. This is my first ever customer review complaint.

I filed a complaint 10 business days ago and your trimmer does not start using your starting procedures at all. I have 6 other pieces of Stihl equipment and never had a problem but this is ridiculous. Park Rose Harare has done nothing. You have done nothing to resolve the issue pretty simple give me a new piece of equipment It has been used 2 had to force start it just like they did at Parkrose hardware first day I bought it tried to give them benefit of the doubt that they flooded it but nope and you do nothing. I have purchased chain saw, yard trimmer, hedge trimmer and other Stihl brand and Honda lawn mowers and snowblower yard tools from TriCity Power Equipment. Last spring I purchased a electric Stihl pressure washer for car washing - unit leaked from nozzle and eventually broke right at pump head with very little use. I brought it in to Tri City PE and the owner said nothing he could do and suggest I contact Stihl so I sent Stihl an email to their warranty department and they replied to take it up with dealer ( Ie Tri City PE). So I went back this Spring and Tri City PE owner took the unit to Stihl and both responded that it was damage and nothing they would do. Unfortunate as it was used only in my driveway for washing cars and my last electric washer from Rona lasted over 5 years with exact same use.

Anyhoo Tri City lost a customer over a 199.00 pressure washer and will not buy Stihl any longer for my yard equipment.

So many different ways this could have been handled to keep a customer, I offered to fix the unit, credit and purchase a replacement etc.... Previous to this my experience with Tri City PE was good and saw Stihl as a reputable brand that would stand behind products.

That's it - from a Stihl dissatisfied customer!

Went to Stihl dealer in Woodruff Wi. I had bought a weed wacker and leaf blower from them. Asked them if I could buy some cord for the weed wacker and if they could put it on for me. There was only one other customer in the store. The rude salesman said he had no time and that I would have to leave it with him. I walked out. Last time I go there.

Bought a Stihl weed eater
Broke within a year
Was told it had a warranty
No warranty
Wilson Dismukes demanded 50.00 just to look at it
They were very rude
It's my fault
They are liars

Terrible company. I bought a brand new chainsaw (Stihl MS170) and it didn't come with a blade cover. I contacted Stihl and they told me to contact the seller. This chainsaw came in a sealed box and it's not the sellers fault I wasn't provided with protection. By the way it was an ACE hardware dealer. Here are the emails between Stihl and I...

STIHL:
Dear Mr. Pearson,

Thank you for contacting us at STIHL Customer Service.

We would like to inform you that only official authorized STIHL dealers are responsible for the accessories that are coming with a new purchase. There is nothing we can do about missing parts.

We strongly advise you to contact or visit the dealer via whom you made your purchase.

Thank you for contacting STIHL Customer Service.

Kind regards,

STIHL Inc.

ME:
Y'all really can't send me a chainsaw blade cover?? It's what, $1 from China then Stihl charges $10 for it. Ok, that's cool. I'll be sure to share my experience with Stihl customer service all over the internet. I've asked multiple companies for small things missing or broken parts including Warn, Craftsman, John Deere and not a one sent me back to the "buyer". This won't be forgotten. Just another greedy company.

Me and my cousin bought the same saw a few years ago and have to have it worked on every year sometimes multiple times. I have had the carb rebuilt several times. He has had his entire motor rebuilt. Sthil is supposed to be the best. Now on the other hand we both bought weed eaters and they are great. Not sure if we bought inferior models or what. I just hate to go back to poulan brand.
