My car has been in the shop for a week and the repair was supposed to take a couple of days. I am very disappointed in the maintenance department. I have not heard anything about my vehicle.

Good Day

my name is Bongane Ndlozi, i have a Polo ,which i have recently took my car for a service on 28/06/2016 at VW Newcastle KZN.

the car service was 105 000 kilometres and i requested that they also check my sitbelt light that was showing.

I was qouted on it then i said they should not do any work on it, because i did not have the money.

when i went back to get the car the boot was not working, and i asked them whose fault was it and they told me its nobody's.

They asked be to book for the car again for 11/07/2016 so they can have a look at it, i booked and when i went back they said it would cost me R2040.50, to it fixed and they made me sign some Dispute resolution on 11/07/2016 which they refuse to explain it to me.

My biggest concern is my boot was working fine before they did anything on my car but on its return there was now the problem of a boot,

in my knowldge the boot was fine till they touched my car and i refuse to be charged on something that is clearly their fault.

I feel that really they are taking advantage of their customers. Its really becoming a pain to service your car at that service station.

its not the first incident i have had with such thing.

To whom it may concern,
Iown a passat brought on 2012..on 5th june.. i had a recent problem with the coolant reduce from the normal level it should be.I call up ur centre and told them the reduced coolant. Absolute WORST customer service! Bought a brand new Passat Tdi which we all know the scandal that has hit VW which makes the car I bought worth even less now. But since it was purchased new in 2013 we have replaced the ignition, clock spring twice all of which was a battle on who should pay for the work. They finally honored it after long drawn out arguments that was completely unnecessary. Now the ad blue pump , piping has gone bad with only 50K on it. Now I'm quoted at $2K to fix even know they supposed to be a 8/80K emissions warranty. The dealership is an hour each way on top.of all these issues. So if you like wasting lots of time and money on an overpriced vehicle to begin with then buy a VW. If not STAY AWAY!!! I bought a new vehicle to have a dependable car to get around instead I've had more issues then I've had with a 15 year old junker.

I have a 2006 VW Passat and really like the car. I received a recall notice for the air bags being defective. This puts my family in danger and also I can be held responsible for this defective part if I trade this car off after I have been notified of the recall and another owner gets hurt or worse killed in an accident that the air bags are proven to cause damage. I think it is time to get this defect fixed as soon as possible.

My wife and I bought a polo tsi in July 2015 at the VW Claremont branch. We had a very helpful salesman by the name of Ivor. When we collected the car he said the only thing we had to get on a later stage was the spare keys and the vehicles books and also a spanner. Three months down the line I contacted him and he told me that they can't find the spare keys and that management does not want to cut New keys. We then went into the branch, only to find out that Ivor has retired. We then dealt with a Ryan Stokes who just messed us around from day one, lying to us and making empty promises. Finally going for a service I was promised to have my key available, then to only find out that Ryan Stokes does not work there anymore and that no-one knows about the spare keys. Then a Wayne Rocchi was surpose to sort us out and he himself disappointed us, with Quinton Adams aswell. Now we dealing with a Roy Pheiffer and he to is ignoring us. I'm fed up with the service I'm receiving at VW Claremont. Nobody is coming out with the truth of our spare keys and it's really starting to irritate me. It's been 9 months that we've been calling and sending emails but it's falling on death ears. Never ever again will I be going there again.

My daughter went in to two vw dealerships on two different times and got no results from anyone no help it was not a good experience. When we purchased the first car the experience was so great we went back to purchase again. The jetta we were looking at is on the internet priced 16,000 and some.So the saleman explain the price is 18,000 and the internet prices are more or less just to get you in.What is that called? So I don't get the price on the net and I can't start looking at my numbers from the internet advertisement of 16,????. Can someone explain to me how this works. How do you do this to the consumer? Did these dealers really want my business. Did they really do their best to keep us as a consumer NO,NO,NO.Will I deal with Volkswagen? WIll THEY TRY TO WIN US BACK!

This is my personal opinion. Volkswagen is the WORST car company I have ever dealt with. They claim they care about there customer however I have yet to see any care/concern from this company. I have a 2013 Passat diesel that I cannot even trade in at this point. They sent me a letter telling me I can just trade it in well out of 17 dealers guess what no one would touch it let alone take it in on trade and 5 of these were VW dealers. They say a different thing each time you call them so lying and fraud seem to go hand in hand with this company. The CEO is a joke (In my opinion) and he states that VW will succeed in winning back consumers. Someone should tell him that in America when you lie cheat and steal and then think we are all going to rush out and purchase Volkswagen's you are badly mistaken. I hope the Justice Department makes them pay the entire 46 billion in fines for lying. However the consumers will always be on the losing end. Purchasing my Volkswagen Diesel has been my biggest regret so far.

Gunthers VW located in Coconut Creek FL is one of the worse places to get your car for service. My experiences there with them has been nightmare after nightmare and just when you think it couldn't get worse it does. At the beginning when my car was under warranty I told them that there was a leak coming from my EOS roof. They said they didn't find anything serious then and a small leak is normal for convertibles. Now that I'm out of warranty they want to charge me a great amount to fix it! Another visit that was horrible was when I brought my car in due to a check engine light. They wanted to charge me another large amount. I felt something was off like the service adviser wasn't being honest with the repairs. So, I took elsewhere which where I ended up paying a fraction of the total cost that VW was charging me, this shop explained to me that VW was trying to replace additional parts that weren't defective!!! Just a coincidence a customer service rep from VW called to follow up while I was at this other shop, I told them how it made me feel that VW location was untrustworthy because of the situation and what they tried to do was give me a discount which I declined because I couldn't trust them anymore! This link location is a Scam! I paid them recently a service repair bill that didn't even fix my problem or help at all and now they want to charge me an extreme amount more!!! I do not recommend the VW in Coconut Creek to anyone even if they were the only repair shop left on this earth, you'd be better off fixing it yourself because they are dishonest and just want to drain you for all your money!!! On top of that they don't even email you a survey another reason why you can see they are SCAMS!!!

My 2011 VW Jetta windshield wipers will not move (operate) when the temperature is 30 degrees F or below. Wipers were not stuck to the windshield. Drove for 50+ miles with the defrost on the entire time but wipers would not work and temperature was 28 degrees F or below. Called the dealership about the problem, was told they would put it on the digital computer to find the problem. I thought the digital computer was for the engine and I would be wasting my money. Do you have a fix for this problem? I want to fix the problem, please tell me what I need to tell the dealership.

Thank you for your attention.

Our VW Tiguan is two years old. We were admittedly late for the 60,000km service and did it at 73,000km's on the 25th November , which we accept affects the warrantee. ...but......TWO days after being serviced at Barons Tokai, Cape Town, one of the pistons burned out on a trip to Plettenberg Bay. The car was towed to VW Mossel Bay. We have been told the cost is R31,000.00 !!

We now know from our own research that one of the main causes of piston burnout is dirt in the fuel injection system. One of the signs of dirt in the fuel system is a "shudder" or irregular idling. THIS IS EXACTLY what I reported when I took the car in for its service. I have a copy of the job card with a handwritten note that this was reported, which I also supplied to Mr Schaefers office.

The VW approved mechanic who repaired the car has stated in writing that he has no idea what caused the piston failure. VW South Africa have not been able to report with any certainty what caused the problem. In short...THEY DO NOT KNOW! We also know that if a problem like this is not diagnosed and corrected, the same problem could and very well might happen again. Yet they refuse to take responsibilty for the possibility that a major issue MAY have been overlooked during the service . They are basing their refusal to pay any of the costs simply on the fact that we serviced the car late, even though they cannot provide any evidence that this was the sole cause of the failure.

How can they give us our car back and tell us it is fixed when it might not be? How can such a worldwide company behave like this? For such a huge worldwide company to not be able to investigate properly the cause of piston failure in one of their own cars, is an appalling indication of what could be a massive lack of interest in their customers and more to the point wanting to be able to help them at all

We have now had two letters from V W saying they maintain their position of not paying any of the costs, and now say "We further wish to add that no further communication will alter our position in

this regard."

Our car is still sitting in Mossel Bay as clearly they want paying before they will release the car.

We have, since this occurred, been dealing with the managing directors office, but have not yet spoken to Mr Schaefer MD directly as he has been away, or not at his desk in all this time. We have dealt with Carol Petrus Specialist: Office of the Managing Director, and Lynne Swart (who told me she was authorized to make the final decision). I am now told by Carol that Lynne has NOT got that authority and should not have said that in the first place...misleading indeed!!

We are so disappointed with our treatment of VW South Africa, hence turning to Social Media in the hope that they will review their current position.

Best Regards

This is really a very bad experience for me to becoming a Volkswagen user. I am having Volkswagen Vento purchased in 3-4 year back. In last year I was came to know that there is some problem with gear shifting mechanism, when I requested to Volkswagen customer care they diverted the issue to local dealer and who is unable to help me. Ultimately I have to get this changed.

Then I reported the issue of displaying spring on car control panel many time and every time I was told that the issue is resolved now. 3 months back I again reported the same problem and local service centre informed me that fuel injector need to be replaced. There are 4 fuel injector having cost of 20000 each but I don't know these were replaced free of cost. Again 2-3 days back I found the same problem of displaying spring on my dashboard and this time I was told that this is due to same cable. The cost of rectifying the defect is 6000/-bugs.

Really guys I am very frustrated with this vehicle. I purchased this looking at the car reliability but it seems it is worst car I have ever seen in my life. In past I used Marui Suzuki (2 different models) and currently also using one Hyundai but never find any issue but this car is really bad one. My recommendation is not to use this CAR.

In case you want to discuss me directly on this car please do call me

Full service in golf 4 with few extra work done amounting to R10036.66 and the car overheated after 19km. Worse experience and additional bill of over R4000 had to pay. Brake disc with ridge and brake pads worn but report of them or anything. When I voice my grievance I only got threats that I will not be allowed to service the vehicle there by Mr jacques in eastern cape Jeffrey bay branch

Worst service ever, my car is seat altar 2012, same car service for Volkswagen in egypt, since I bought my car I have been having problems with the gear box since 5000km,the car service kept manipulating me, till total failure happened to the car on 30 Sept. 2015 while coming back from Alexandria on the high way, I delivered the car to on our branch, they kept investigating the problem for more than 21 days, and the contacted me claiming that I changed part of the mechatronics out of warrant when it was 20000km, I told them it is unlogic that I would change it while in warranty out of warranty, as I am not stupid, I asked for a technical report, they refused to give me any, they are asking me to buy a new gearbox with a cost of 60000Egyptian pound. They still have my car since then, past two months without a car with three girls, I emailed seat company, but total ignorance, kindly advise, as I don't know what to do but I filed a complain against them in the police and also in the customer protection institute.

2009 Vw Routan is the worst car we have ever bought from VW. We have had nothing but problems since the day we got it.
The brakes need to be replaced very often, electrical issues all the times, engine shuts down, we have been stranded because of shorts, and power modules which are all a big mystery to the dealership. The act like our complaints are not justified and we are crazy . Then we research and see all the EXACT issues other people were having. It is a big cover up. This car is very unsafe. All we have ever owned have been VW mostly, and I do not trust them anymore. They have our car now and if they do not do right by us we are getting a lawyer.

To Whom i may concern,

As spoken, I had lodged a complain report dated 4th November 2015 and attached is the tax invoice as per requested.
My complain was lodge more than two weeks time but yet to receive any reply from VW. I think it's time for me to write it out and nothing can stop me to send this copy to VW Germany.
My car model is Polo TSI.

Herewith my Issues:-
1. Arm rest was loosen quite some of the times but was usable and nothing with it. I send for checking, however after few days the PIC called and claimed that the arm rest was broken. At first, i want to emphasise that it's usable and nothing wrong with my arm rest but just loosen a bit. PIC said it's was broken and no warranty anymore after two years but my question is who can deny the possible someone try to open it and coincident broke it? Last, i ask him how much, he just said 16 somethings for the arm rest bracket and i repeat twice one hundred plus and the answer is yes. To reduce the hassle and fight with PIC, i had to say proceed. After repair when I've to collect my car, the tax invoice was one thousand plus plus. What wrong with it? I try to talk to PIC. what make me mad is the impolite and rude services provided by the said service centre.

2. My clutch issue was happening close to two years. After feveral complain, finally they agreed to replace a new clutch for me. However, the next day my collected my car, i found transparent oil leaking on my car porch. After few days, i felt something went wrong and call to the VW PIC again. I be told to send back my car for investigation. It's fine as usual my car need to send back and put there few days. End up the answer was driveshaft oil seal worn out?? What wrong with the car or service centre? is it so cheap-cake the oil seal broken? I'm arguing and VW glenmarie said it's was co-incident. Are there co-incident? Why i've to pay for this faulty? The leaking happened right after the clutch fixed, is it co-incident?

3. I been send my car back to VW service centre in and out for this few months and yet the issue fix. Before changing clutch, the car was under power. After fixed, it's back to normal. However after oil seal changed, the under power issue back again. The most terrible was after fight for my right about the arm rest, there promised to fix it and collect the workmanship RM 80 from me. According to the PIC, they try to glue back but charged my RM80, is it reasonable? I doubt so. The worst it's was broke after two or three days.

My frustration was undescribeable in words as i'm going to mad.
Should i pay the RM 1690 just for arm rest bracket? If it is broken before i send back, it was usable and stand strong there. What happen now was it's not longer usable and unable to install back. How about my clutch issue and under power? I'm customer, how dare service centre scold back customer when i pointed out this all issue? Are there anything hide behind?

Would appreciate your revert.

I bought my car from VW of Ontario, California on August 16,2015. Don in Financing used such words as, "hell" and "shit" while doing the contracts and was slamming the paperwork and stapler on the desk. My wife was shocked at this behavior and I was ready to tear up the contracts and walk out. I wish I would have. I get pissed when I hear a VW commercial on the radio or see one on TV. I told the owner and his son what happened, a couple of days later, they apologized and that was it. Oh yeah, the owners son gave me a windshield shade. They didn't offer me amything. This is my third VW, the second from this deslership.

Volkswagen service have destroyed my sunroof blind and not taking responsibility to fix it even though the car is under warranty. Mysteriously, any problem I have with the car is not covered by the warranty anymore because it is now under extended warranty such as the suspensions and the Bluetooth. I highly recommend people to stay away from Volkswagen. They are masters at emptying your pockets and extremely greedy. I have had other cars before, they where not even close as how Volkswagen rip you off! It's sad to see such a big company failing so bad specially being German! Everything they say are lies! Stay away from Volkswagen. This has happened in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Toyota tries to keep on top of tech - but They need to be more open with their information. Like their car finishes they need to be able to provide detailed information on the mix of the finish - method of application and expected life. The same sort of information should be made available for the software in their cars. They have a very good product but their should be a massive user manual on the web for each product giving full information. When I get a toyota I also get the full set of manuals for it from Toyota (~$300). But these manuals do not dive down deep enough into the DNA of the car to help the user know what his care is doing. Just like we can look at all the DNA in our body we should be able to look at each line of code in the car and look at each blue print that was used in the making of the car. Also if I get on a toyota bus for a trip I should have access to the full information about that bus via the web. You should have started this a while ago. But you need to start educating the public about the future of cars. The future of their owner ship - the future of their safety and the future of the cost of car travel. All of these thins will become lest costly, more safe, and less ownership. With open software in cars you will have all car's software being looked at by professionals and be commented on. The change of bad software will vanish in the sunlight. What will change with open car software? The ideas will get cross licensed and be more prolific. No one can offer to take a licence for a part of some software if they do not know that it exists. Even today we should have (and with open software we would have) cars that will keep track of you diving habit and mpg and know were the gas stations are. And therefore be able to tell you when to buy gas and where to buy it to get the best price and the most convenience. The same goes for electric charging stations. With open software in cars how will upgrades be handled? Will there be completion from 3rd party software outfits and "free ware" outfits? What is the need for better EPA testing? Will the EPA begin grabbing cars off the street for "random" testing of pollution and mpg (like the random drug testing in sports)? Will self learning software for cars become standard. The cars will upload the things that are learned each day and redistribute the information to all the care overnight. The cars will become know it all very quickly. If there is a pot whole or a sink whole it will be know about to all very quickly. The cost saving will be great with less damage to cars and people. The forecast of car needs in the future will be more accurate because of the closer tracking of the present use of the cars. A user report could be generated from the car activity and be used to provide the drive with ideas about how to improve their lives or to show where their lives are going astray. The computers in cars should be proving tighter tracking of the maintenance and cost of maintenance for cars to provide the owner with better idea of the transportation cost that is being expended. The cost of maintenance will go down with better tracking the the maintenance on the cars. The relative cost of cars in different parts of the county could be better understood with compute tracking of the information. Customers could enter comments at the end of each day if they want to to provide better interface between Toyota and the customer. The use of open software will be a big boon to the auto industry and provide for a much cleaner environment and less down side for the auto companies.
