Be Warned. Do not deposit CASH in their ATM. Here is my story: After bank closing hours, I deposited a check of $50 and CASH of $200 (two, one hundred bills) into the ATM. Two days later I am checking my account and only find that it shows I deposited $50. I called the customer support line and they act like they know nothing about the $200 cash. Pretty much considered me a liar and that I would have to wait for a manager to call me back the next day. Manager calls me back and says that I only deposited a $50 check in the ATM. I was outraged. I told them that I was contacting the CEO of the bank and that I know for a fact that I put two $100 bills in the envelope. To make a long story short, come to find out that they reviewed the video tape and found their own employee had pocketed my CASH. Needless to say, they credited me the money and fired that employee, but the lesson learned is to NEVER DEPOSIT CASH IN THE ATM MACHINE. I got lucky by having the video camera's record everything, but that is because I was at an ATM that had a branch with video cameras focused on the ATM. If I had deposited the CASH in the ATM thru a drive up, I may not have recovered my money. But this also took a month to resolve. I'm glad that I had the $200 to spare or I would have been charged overdraft fees, which I doubt they would have reversed. I left Citizen's Bank because they obviously do not hire the best people and do not do background checks on the people they hire.

I just don't want to make a comment. Because that will be the end of it. But i want to mobilize other costumers for us to take to twitter. I used to like this bank. I actually have brought them five new clients over the last nine years. But no more. They are all thieves and crooks and cons. They will push one bill ahead and another behind just so you can fall in default for them to charge you for a penalty. Eventhough, they have more than 20,000.00 in one of my account, they charge for 39.00 for a dollar bill.

I co-signed a loan for my daughter. Most of the time she makes a loan payment at the last moment. That triggers many phone calls to my house daily. I have repeatedly requested they use my daughter phone as the contact. They threaten my credit rating instead. I would never bank with them.

We strongly recommend AGAINST using citizens bank. We opened an account here only a few months ago and we are actively searching for a new bank. They are the worst bank I have ever dealt with. We were lied to about a number of things regarding the accounts we opened including additional fees that were not mentioned at the time the accounts were opened even though we were assured there weren't any. We have had to call customer service > 4 times in 3 months due to problems with our accounts. The customer service reps are rude and have an extremely poor attitude. Issues have been satisfactorily resolved 0% of the time over the phone.

this comment is for citizen's bank customer service

Since when does one have to have a driver license to apply for s a student loan? I do not drive and have no use for a driver license. Its not that I am not able to. And, until about 4 years ago, I did drive. But, the last 4 years, I have lived in a large city and it would be ludricous to have had a car there. here, in corbin ky there really is no use for one. My mom does all the driving at the moment. As we hardly go anywhere, why would I need one. That will change someday of course. I explained to her I am 50 years old and have had an excellent driving record. So, the insurance will not be too high. My insurance premiums were always low compared to most people. Sorry, you did not need to know all of this. So, since there are several other options "out there" I will move on to someone else

Absolutely the worst bank by far and sinking lower all the time. I've been to branches in Roslindale, West Roxbury, and Newtonville and have never encountered a more inept group of people. Monday 9/24 I went to the West Roxbury branch where it took 20 minutes of fiddling with the computer for an employee to tell me that their server had crashed that morning and he was unable to access my information. Today 9/28 I went to the Newtonville branch where a most obnoxious and overbearing women kept telling me I should talk to their financial advisor. After I declined a half dozen times, she still kept pushing it. I wanted to renew a retirement CD, but I couldn't because she kept insisting that it was a traditional one, when in reality I have a Roth. I left totally exasperated, tried to call the manager of that branch when I got home and was told there was no manager. Tried to call their 1-800-922-9999 and got stuck in an automated loop where I could not access a live person. This bank is a nightmare.

Citizens Bank is the worst. They will charge you fees for overdraft left and right. I made a cash withdrawal from my account on a FRIDAY and I became overdrafted and charged because the ATM transaction does not go through until MONDAY. So basically it's like you can't even use your debit card on Fridays and weekends because it wouldn't post to your account until days later. A bank should be posting your transactions as soon as possible. It seemed as if they knew I was going to be over drafted and did not show me any updates until TUESDAY which caused multiple charges. There customer service over the phone is ridiculous. They are rude and don't get back to you when they say they will. When I called and complained, they acted as if it was all my fault because I made a withdrawal on a FRIDAY. Well I'm sorry that your bank is full of crap and telling me that if I make withdrawals from my account in CASH that I wouldn't see it post until DAYS later. Absolutely absurd.

Terrible!! Unable to reach a live person. Following the instructions does not work and is extremely frustrating. The menu we are forced to use is a complete farce.

This is absolutely the worst bank with I have every been involved with! It seems as though they have come up with an ingenious method to rob their clientele blind. They actually allow you to go over the amount which is in your account and then they conveniently overcharge you for it! They have actually stole thousands of dollars from me this easy. And when you call them you can tell they have ben trained to make you comply that it is good what they see doing to you! Fing you that is! Do not! Open an account with them! They are aholes and theives!

Citizens Bank

569 Washington St # 571
Dorchester, MA 02124-2032

The Citizens Bank in Codman Sq. at 569 Washington st. Dorchester Ma. is the only branch that I've found to be very unprofessional and rude. I go there because it is the closes Citizens Bank to my home and business.

I have a business account as well as a personal account there and yet I am treated like dirt. The tellers are rude, imparticular a dark skin woman with short hair that speaks with an accent. This bank has their own policies separate from other Citizens Banks. Some of these polices are very inconvenient to customers but this bank seems to think that customers are a liability and not an asset. The monthly maintenance fees are outrageous and yet they perform in this manner. I am considering closing my accounts with Citizens Bank because of this one branch.

I am sorry to tell you that your Customer Service is deficient. It took extremely long to just deposit over $9,000. Then when I asked to used the bathroom for an emergency the manager told me to go to the pet shop next door. I have been a customer of Citibank for many years, we have $90.00 in your bank. Therefore ...I am not a homeless person to be sent to the pet shop next door to use your bathroom.
We have many accounts on other banks...Wells Fargo, Bank of America, etc. Where we are treated better.

We will remove all of our money from your bank...after many years.

Money management is your own responsibility the bank is not your mother or father. You probably should have an account at all If your pretty much broke anyways. All of you complain but not once had a positive response. I used to bank with M&T (aka M&Fee) citizens bank has giving me the opportunity to bank with trust. If I go over one week or am negative cause I short my self. The they give you a 10 dollar limit to fix it. 5 transactions a month that's 30 to 31 days in a month, quick answer for you use your card 5 times and you are fine. Other banks charge ridiculous fees just for having an account or require a direct deposite form to be applied. Manage your money better and quit complaining and all of you may be succsessful with saving money. It's not anyone's fault. Although one person is correct. There is a correct procedure to have your check stopped. But don't wait till last minute to do so. And don't write checks you can't promise won't bounce. Best of luck to all. Citizens bank is not your problem. It's your choices that are your problems.

This past month, you charged me over $500 on insufficient funds. The insufficient funds came about because you did not revoke about 10 authorizations that I had asked you to stop paying. I did this by sending an e-mail to one of your agent and asking her to stop the payments. They were not stopped so yesterfay I went to the bank to speak with another agent and she explaied there was a specific procedure for stopping payments. Since yesterday, I have followed those procedures so I expect I will be solving the problem very soon.

In the meantime, I have this deficit in my account produced by all the charges you have levied on me.
I am on a fixed income and ill besides. I really need this money you have charged me. Would you please see what you can do about this?

This bank is horrible. They try to sell themselves on customer service yet they have the worst customer service of any bank I've ever done business with. I no longer do business with this bank. The Moon Township Pennsylvania branch is a trainwreck. Banker Carl Pascocello and branch manager Jack Robershaw are horrible people to work with. I do not believe either one of them represents Citizen Bank values.

Rudest most uncompliant bank i have ever worked with- and i am in the mortgage business.
they would not give me any information even after sending in authorizations and verifying thier "security questions" I called over and over to even get someone remotely nice on the phone- one person even told me he wasnt going to speak to me because her "didnt know what i was talking about" and transferred me to a line that hung up.

Same as everyone else, horrible service from this bank. I wired the payoff to the bank and was told they would expedite a lien waiver, they did not. I called and called and called, I was told I needed to wire a additional $15 to expedite, then I was told this would not work, then I was told if I had a Fedex number they could fedex the waiver but I would have to Fedex my Fedex number, then I was told to fax the Fedex Number, I faxed it 7 times, NO Lien waiver ever Fedexed, then I was told they could not Fedex it because it was already mailed but it never arrived. I was called and called and I was told my waiver was not mailed last week but it was yesterday.

In short I had a deposit on my car, it was essentially SOLD for $4,000 more than I was going to trade it in for, I spent 8 hours on the phone, $60 on wires and Fedex and I lost my buyer along with the extra $4,000.

THIS BANK SUCKS!!!

Lost my job when the economy tanked. I now have been working for a year and things are great.. except for Citizens Bank. This bank will NOT work with me on rehabilitation of my loan now that I am back on my feet! Citizens has been fighting me this entire year! Citizens took Federal bailout money! The new down payment mandate they gave me is impossible. The Court Magistrate gave me the task to apply for the HAMP program. Citizens came back today and stated that HAMP is not an option because my loan is now "owned by one of their private investors who opted out of the HAMP program." Citizens Bank is going against the Court Magistrate! And how are they permitted to sell my loan to a private investor??? Citizens Bank also altered my mortgage papers to suit themselves AFTER I signed mine. My mortgage from Citizens does not match what Citizens filed after the close of the mortgage- they had the audacity to hand write in changes without my knowledge and certainly NO AUTHORIZATION. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS BANK FOR ANY REASON!

getting a human being is sufficiently irritating that by the time you're in the right queue you're ready to throw your phone through a window. They managed to mislead me into an overdraft which they falsely told me I was covered on and then rack up hundreds of dollars worth a fees for. It works out at over 1,000% per annum interest. Truly no star behavour

I would advise people to check their statements every single month especially if you have an account with citizens bank i had an account with them a few years ago at first i wasnt checking my statements for about 8 months my account kept shrinking when i barely spent any of my money the only time i would use my bank card was to pay bills and and things for my kids here and there but every month more money was disppearing then i notice they where double charging my card like one time i spent 150.00 at footlocker at a store in pennslyvnia then i got my statement it had two 150.00 charges from footlocker and one of the charges came from a footlocker in califonia both charges happened on the same day and time after that happeni took a look at past statements i was missing more than 500.00 from my account so instead of complaining to them i took all my money out of the bank and overcharged my card 600.00 i did 600.00 instead of 500.00 for intrest then they had the nerve to call me and tell me i owe them i said we are even this happened years ago they recently sent me a letter saying just pay them 200.00 and ill be able to open an account with them again told em no so be aware of banks they are cheaters

Fees are ridiculous! Service charge and insufficient funds fee for not making 5 transactions. Fees on top of fees, over 200$ in fees for being less than 3$ short from the service charge!!

Citizen's charges $7 AND wants to fingerprint you for the crime of wanting to cash a check drawn on THEIR bank if you do not have a Citizen's account. And this information is given in a rude attitude to boot. No, I am not kidding-said I would have to be fingerprinted as well as paying TO CASH A small check given to me by a Citizen's bank customer!!!!

What a bad bank. I had an employee account for two years with no charges, now suddenly, my accounts closed and I owe THEM $10!? The one time I try and talk to a teller, she ignores me while she's on her cell phone gabbin-at the counter! So unprofessional!!
That's the way it is?, huh? Fine. I work at ACME with the branch in my store. I'm going to tell all the customers how bad that bank is. I KNOW I can impact that branch. They earned it...

I am glad that Citizens lost (settled) the law suit about over draft fees. I hope to receive some money back. Check out info at huffington post. After talking to many "customer support" people it is very obvious that they role play and practice giving the "right" answer from the script. Some would hang up when I notified them that I was recording them.

I am sooooo glad I left Citizens back in Jan 2010. I have been very happy with the differences with Northwest Savings Bank.

When you set up an account with direct deposit mention my name Robert S Radnich and get $100 bonus.

i did a wire transfer (international) and it's been a month and the money has not been received yet.I called the customer service several times and nobody would help me unless the bank/branch where i wired from calls them.Unfortunately the manager(original branch went on vacation and for 2 wks nobody would give any info/even after putting a trace on the money.A horrible woman by the name of Donna @ wire dept./didn't even let me explain my problem. No more business with citizens bank !!!!
