I just received a gift and of the 6 pears in this box, 2 are uneatable. It makes me worry about the pears I sent to someone in November before Thanksgiving. I did open them immediately a few minutes ago. The business who sent it knew that I was away for Christmas and was not returning until Sunday 12/28/2014 and I received them today

It has been two months, 6 telephone calls, I have not received my order or my money back. Every time I call, some-one is going to straighten it out and call me back. No one calls.

Harry & David failed to delever as promised! Order Christmas gift for my Boss only to find out he received a partial order. I called Harry & David they now tell me oh you will receive the fruit when it becomes in season? Thanks for taking my money!! and leaving to hang out to dry!! You have lost my business!

Why don't you have a place for complaints? I am so upset after this year's bos with spoiled pears that I never want to see anything from Harry and David again. I will return it if you send any more.

Also for more than one year, there is no Harry and David's in Costa Mesa, CA. it is now a men's clothing store.

I had terrific customer service. I ordered last minute items for Christmas and also items to arrive for New Years.
I was given great suggestions when told some items sold out. My family was thrilled with the gift and everything was terrific. However the New Years item arrived at Christmas. Disappointed. When I called to let them know, customer service was sincerely apologetic and sent an extra box of pears. Overall very pleased.

We received a Harry and David gift basket for Christmas. One of the pears was totally rotten, covered with mold, the others were bruised and scratched. We did try one of them, the texture was wooden, like it had been previously frozen. This is strange since we do not live in a cold part of the country and the distance from Medford, Oregon, to Bellingham, Washington is not that far. The remainder of the basket were cheap sweats and two average apples. All the pears (the bulk of the gift) went into the trash. What a waste of money, this could have been bought in any grocery store at a much better quality for a few dollars.

Placed order on 12/12 for Christmas delivery to my Father. On the 19th I received an email that the item was sold out and they could not ship- I called customer service to select a new item and they told me my original order was OK as they had restocked and was sent another email to confirm that the original order was scheduled for Christmas delivery. Then on the 23rd ( 2 days prior to Xmas) I got an email stating that a box of Pears had been shipped when I ordered Cheese/Sausage/Crackers ( my father does not even like pears), I then called customer service and was told again that the item had sold out and they replaced my order with a box of pears!? They never even notified me, they just shipped Pears!! I was told by customer service that the best they could do was give me a 20% off coupon for my next order- I told them not to bother, Not only would I never order from them againI would also be contacting my Credit Card as I would not be paying for an order I did not place! Terrible service! Don't order!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the box from Harry & David. It was to be a Christmas Cactus. It was a UPSIDE DOWN FROZEN MESS of a thing. No markings on the box Like maybe: PLANT INSIDE DO NOT FREEZE OR EVEN AN ARROW POINTING UP!?! How hard is that to put a sticker on the box. It gets cold in the mid-west in December. Duh!!!!!

I placed two seperate orders of fruit for friends and family. Each shipment had rotten fruit. I was very upset and embarrassed. One was bad enough, but two? That's horrible. I won't be ordering any more fruit from Harry and David's. Even though customer service was more than happy to replace the fruit, who wants to try again when somoeone has already had this happen with two orders?

I ordered a gift box that I needed to be delivered to a family member following a sudden death. When I placed the order I made it clear how important the delivery date was-- and I payed the extra cash to ensure this...but instead I was lied to about the delivery not once, not twice but three times. The customer service people constantly apologized but never fixed the problem. I have been a long time customer and this was unexpected. I would rather have had the customer service person tell me the truth--that they could not deliver the box as promised--than lie. The family never got the gift. Don't order if the delivery date matters....because it clearly does not matter to the folks at Harry and David.

Brown spots on surfaces of all pear surfaces contacting the foam at the bottom of the box. You opened the gift box and their beauty was striking but turn it around to eat and a shocking vision!
The pear flesh beneath the spots was normal (and tasty).
Harry and David sent a replacement box and it too had similar but fewer affeted areas. The spots did not change with time. Believe reaction of spray on pears with foam cushion underneath or to a refrigeration mishandling. Great brand; product did't reflect it.BTW have photos.

If you check my order history you will find I have used H&D for years. No more.

After ordering on line and paying shipping, the next day a message of "last day of free shipping" appeared.

Also, bought a gift 3 tiered box that stated "Gheradeli Chocolates". There was one square of chocolate for my 86 year old aunt. Filled with cheap candy and cookies.


Paid $53.00 . NO MORE

Was not told upon placing my order that delivery would be delayed due to availibility. This caused me major inconvenience during the already busy holiday time. I also started receiveing e-mails for promotions when I only gave out my e-mail for confirmation purposes.

I purchased the Cranberry/Apple Stuffing mix to serve with our Thanksgiving meal. I wanted to let you know that it was AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!!!! I had to throw it in the garbage. Very embarassing with guests already seated for dinner and now no stuffing. How disappointing. I had no back up plan as I thought coming from Harry/Davids the product would be good as I have purchased other products from the stores. I made my purchase at the Harry/David store in Deerpark, Illinois.
The stuffing was very very salty and peppery. No taste of crabnberry let alone any sign of apple. I thought it was my taste buds and after asking someone else to taste test, we all agreed with the taste and to throw it out.

Placed on-line order for a retirement gift to be delivered the next day and paid the extra delivery charges. Confirmation sheet confirmed it will be delivered next day. Called to check on status of delivery and they said it is all scheduled for two day delivery! The person intended to receive the gift won't even be there - that was the purpose of paying EXTRA for overnight delivery. Harry and David's reponse: "so sorry for the inconvenience". Didn't even offer to reimburse us until I demanded something back so they deducted the extra delivery charge. NEVER AGAIN.

I placed an order with Harry and David that was shipped to the wrong address. They refuse to take any action into resolving the issue, except giving me a Harry and David gift card for the price of the item. Too bad I will NEVER shop there again. At this point I am going to fed-ex to re-ship the package myself, for which the shipping I will have to pay for, even though I already paid Harry and David extra for shipping to separate states. After stating that "Fed ex sent me the package, I was the one who decided to send it to myself" and me then calling her rude, Shannon hung up on me. I called back and asked for her supervisor, Marie, who answered the phone laughing and sarcastically apologized. The whole conversation before that I was just being brushed off with no help. I've never had an issue with a company like this, I've never filled out a poor customer report like this, I was just extremely appalled with this behavior. Sincerely, Disappointed.

Terrible customer service -- Got a gift which which arrived in terrible shape. Harry and David said they would replace it but never followed through -- They ended up crediting the giver's credit card and didn't even notify me that the replacement gift wasn't coming. Can't say that I would recommend using this company for any future gifts based on their customer service.

I ordered on December 27 for a happy new year gift to 2 different family members. Found email today telling me the items would arrive approximately January 17. They should have alerted me immediately and I could have made other plans. This is the first and last time they will have my business. p.s. They seem to be out of stock of everything comparable until January 17 or later.

Ordered a very expensive Towering Gift Basket on December 11 for delivery before Christmas. They "robo called" me two days before Christmas to tell me it wouldn't get there until the week after Christmas. Only response to my complaint was an apology letter to the recipient. Do not use Harry & David, they are overpriced, not trustworthy in their obligations and take make no real effort to make restitution for their failures.
