I have had straighttalk for over a year, and so far, no problems. I did have an airtime card that didnt load properly. If you go to WalMart, the people at the phone store there usually are able to remedy the situation. My suggestion is, when you buy your card, add minutes on as soon aas you pay, if you have issues, it can be taken care of while you're there. Good luck!!!

I have had my Straight Talk phone for nearly two years with no problems. Recently upgraded to a samsung proclaim and love it. Wife swapped over to them too. True, if you do have to speak with customer service you will almost have to speak Indian. Overall I would rate it a good service for the money.

Been using Straight Talk for a little over 2 years now. Never had any problems w/ my service except maybe one time it was finicky for a 2 week time period where i couldn't get service at my work. Which, Im there to work anyways not talk on the phone so not a huge deal.

Everyone tells me I need a contract & a "real" phone, but Im a single mother so a contract would only add tons of additional financial stress that I dont need. And on top of that my little $30 dollar flip phone is super durable and reliable as I have dropped it numerous times and even slight water damage & it still works perfectly-- only a little paint chipping but thats because I hold my phone in my mouth if I run out of hands.

Never had any issues refilling because you dont HAVE to call the number to refill your phone you can do it straight from the prepaid menu and it takes 1 minute total to have the time added & appearing on my screen.

Now thats the ONLY thing I would change. I cant get the damn "your service expires in 16 days" off the front of the screen. It gets in the way of my SUPER CUTE pics of my 9 month old.

Im not one to complain or be particularly picky but that is just about the most annoying thing in the world.

Sounds to me like alot of people complaining here are not complaining as much about how costumer service helpss them but more about the country The ones trying to help are from. I have had ST for quite sometime and any problem I have ever had they have done their best to help me. I am sure they get alot of costumers. Who are not so friendly from. The way it looks that would explain there frustrated attitude.

I am wondering why my service date and time is now ending at 10 p.m. on the monthly date instead of ending on 3 a.m. the next day like it usually does. I don't buy my service card on a certain time frame just when I can get to one..

My phone was not activated when I first signed up with ST but So I called the support number then in about 15 min after trying a few things the guy on the phone got me working and I didn't even have to wait on hold for even one minute. So I thought they did a great job of getting me going with ST.

Had issues with my phone from the day I bought it. It did not show my service days remaining and had my service end date as 01/01/2001. I called the number that I was told to on my phone, (800)867-7183. I did get a live person. The first time I called, after I tried to add minutes to my phone, they worked on the phone for almost an hour and it stopped working. I tried to call the straight talk cs number and only got a computer that did no good. I called the first number again and talked to another representative and he actually fixed my phone. YEAH. The 800 number listed is for Trac phone, but they are who service the smart talk phones. Try them, but do try during the day. Maybe you will have success too.

...I CALLED THE SERVICE NUMBER THEN PRESSED 4 AND SAID NOTHING..BY DOING SO IT TOOK ME STRIGHT TO A PERSON WHO WAS ABLE TO RESTART MY SERVICE....AND YES IT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND THEM, BUT HE HAD NO PROBLEM REPEATING HIMSELF...IT NEEDS TO BE VERY QUITE DURING THE CALL...GOOD LUCK!

It is unbelieveable how rude many of these people are on here. I understand some of them may be upset but using curse words is not called for.. Straight Talk offers a good deal for wireless. These jerks on here would complain and whine and cry even if it was free service. What jerks! Go back to your $90.00 a month contract..

I have nothing but positive to say so far about Straight Talk.

I have a ST cp and it surprises me to see the type of comments here. My children and myself all have SR phones. I had Tracfones for years-which is basic company for ST-and would not have traded TRACFONE for any plan phone. We have not had ANY problems with ST service or phones. Perhaps some people do not follow the instructions they are given for actvation!!!! satisfied in Ohio

i've had up hill and downhill with cs. deffinately not the best but far from the worst, any of you people try to talk to cs at mediacom, now their the worst. but statistically 25 percent of the time you have to call back a second time, reception depends on model of phone you aquire, and about 10 to 15 percent of the time the cs rep you get at straight talk has a hard time understanding you and you have to ask to speak with someone else by end of converstation. yeah there cs isn't the best but been using straighttalk for over 2 years and they have always been issue free and reliable to me. beets the 24 hour text message issue I had with boost mobile where I would send a message and you wouldn't recieve it for anywhere from an hour to 2 days later. anyways just my opinion.

I have had ST for the last 3 months and I love it. I haven't (so far) had any major issues with the phone, service or customer reps. It's funny how some people talk about the customer reps "sounding" or "being" foreign. When I had AT&T EVERYONE I spoke to was from another country and hard to understand. I would have to ask to speak to someone "in America" or someone that could speak English more clearly. You will get that with just about all of the cell phone companies. Anyway, I don't go through ST to put minutes on my phone. I go to Wal-Mart and buy the cards and do it myself. It's a little more time consuming, but I know that I'm in control of how much I spend. I saw where someone said they charged them more or something like that? So I would assume that they were buying their minutes on the ST web site. Also I always put the card in the day before it's supposed to expire (because it does state that you have 30 days before it expires)and I do it around 11 pm. Not sure if that makes much difference but it's worked fine for me. Sorry to hear all the bad rap that ST users have had. Hopefully ST will be able to work out whatever kinks other users have dealt with. As for me, I have really enjoyed ST (so far).

Hey I have been using your service for over a year and you guys have just deleted my entire account after going one day without refilling my balance. I cannot login at all. But when I try to just go for a new phone number I type in my MEID dec number and it says that my phone is already activated and I cannot add minutes to it. So I am stuck not being able to make a new number for my phone or access my account to keep my old one.

I use the StraightTalk BYOP sim card for AT&T. Coverage and service have been great. Ported four numbers with no problems. One billing problem was handled by calling customer care. Customer care was courteous and helpful on resolving the problem.

I am not saying this just to be contrary to everyone else's opinion. However, I have been with ST for cumming up on 3 years now and I have had not one problem. Not one. Every single time I called customer service, they were able to help me. I JUST called and axed if it was possible to increase the number of rings before going to voicemail. They told me that ATT wont let them do it. Their contract with ATT apparently prohibits them from messing with network setting like that. So.....researching other ways to do it myself. I digress.....My experience with ST has been incredible. Sorry if other people are not having a good experience but they have been as good as I could possibly want them to be. I love my service and phone (nokia e71 but only because its reliable and does what I want but its slowwwww - to be expected from a fone released in 2008 I suppose). I will admit that coverage was better when I had a regular feature phone that was on the verizon network via ST. when I switched to the nokia, it put me on the ATT network (ST uses ATT for smartphones). but that has nothing to do with ST. So.....I thought it only fair to point out my experience since people rarely take the time to praise a company, only to complain (which is understandable if you have legit complaints). cheers!

quite frankly my girlfriend and i have had straight talk service for years now and we love them. We've never experienced any dropped calls or problems with activation or customer service. Maybe all of you people that are having these problems is because you bought the phones that networks from the AT&T towers. We network from Verizon and have NO problems at all.

I purchased the SIM card and 1-month of unlimited everything. I received the package in the mail. Went to the website to activate the SIM on my phone. Was confused by the website so I called the number.

Yes, it's true, the customer service rep had an accent. My guess is she was in the Phillipines. But aside from that, she was nice and wanted to help.

After a little bit of time, we got the SIM entered into the system. Less than 20 minutes later, my new phone was working and my old phone had stopped. Worked perfect and was very quick.

After one week, my service is superior to AT&T for making and keeping phone calls. Not one dropped call, which was a weekly occurance for me in Orlando, a major city.

My data speeds are good. I can't quite compare to AT&T because my old phone used Edge and my new phone (iPhone 3gs) uses 3G.

Overall it's been a positive experience. The only negatives were the confusion on the website/getting the phone activated.

I have had my LG Optimus Q phone for two weeks. I have had to make two calls to customer service - one for a deactivation issue and one because I forgot my voicemail passcode. Both times the issue was resolved within minutes.

This is the BEST phone service as far as mobility, and BEST CS I have ever received from a phone company. I have had the pleasure of using the customer service toll free line, and ALWAYS received prompt/courteous/expeditious and concrete results and service. TOP SHELF

I have been using ST for 2 years. My first phone, a Samsung slider with qwerty lasted 1.5 years without a flaw. When my phone died after being dropped for the 1000th time I went and bought a new identical Samsung.. or so I thought.

There are differences. This one has a micros thing in it, my old one you had to buy the micros separately.. So this is a plus, right? My old phone had working voice mail, this one.. no matter what I do, I can't get the voice mail to set up. Oddly, ST says I don't have access to that service in my area, when I HAD service in my area until I got my new phone. Finally, my last phone, when I wanted to add minutes, I would simply enter a PIN number ON the phone in the "prepaid" menu.. and get my minutes. They SAY this feature is available for me, yet it's not.. I have to call a silly automated system and say YES or NO and my phone number.. and then the PIN. Ruin my day? No. Slightly annoying, yes.

Overall, satisfied with my ST phone.... but still wish that for $50 a month (rounded up) that every feature would work.
