I returned the car with full tank gas and their staff marked FULL tank gas on the Tax Invoice as well. Few days later, they charged me for the gas? Please be careful if you are tourist.
I called them they always said it takes time for investigation.

At the Budget rental counter Saturday morning July 18th. Question is "Which will be longer? The flight from Manchester, N.H. to Tampa or the wait to get the car?" there are at least 35 people in line and only one agent at the counter.

yesterday I called 302 227-3041 to see if I could be 1 hour late for my car. they did not answer and it rolled over to BUDget 800 #., who picked up my reservation and OKED all. they said , we could be 15 hours late B would hold a reservation at the DE location - 1 hour , no problem. We arrived at 1 PM, and the agents was closing the location and would not open to give me the car. I called the 800 and they changed my reservation to this AM and when I went there at 8AM agents, Jim and Jody, ( would not give last names) said .... when I was not there at noon yesterday they re rented my car to one of the more than 5people who were there who had reserved a car and this DE location , Rehoboth Beach , did not had been disappointed by no cars available. TO Bad, so sad - NO cars today at all. they were out of cars . We said we can drive a truck we have to get to NY. They were unconcerned and when we asked where was the next rental company they said that Enterprise , was 1;5 miles away but they had no cars and were sending their customers to Budget , just this AM. This statement proved to be a lie. We called and Enterprise rented us a car and I returned to Budget , asked their names and told them they were working against us and telling their customers lies. they were unconcerned. This is when I asked their names and given the first names . I took the Budget card with the managers , Vincent lulianetti , name on it. I am looking to Budget to pay the difference in getting me to my origional NY city destination. Please get in touch with me. Kathleen and Alexandra Schaumber

Returned car 45 minutes after rental pickup. Was charged full retail for additional 24 hour cycle that was over 3 times the the rate I paid for originally renting the car. This company should be jailed for this unethical behavior. Buyer beware these people are crooks.

I prepaid for an intermediate car - A Dodge Avenger with a full tank and additional driver. I prepaid so I wouldn't have to spend much time picking it up.

However - the guy that served us tried to rip us off at every moment. We've just had a £124 bill for an upgrade we did not want or agree to.
Apparently Dodge avengers have been discontinued so why is it on their website?
Our sever tried to get us to upgrade to a convertible for $18. I asked if it was a one off payment - he said yes. It wasn't - it was per day. Im glad I asked him a few times so I caught him out.

I said I just want a car similar to what I had paid for so I wouldn't get any extra charges, and can we look at pictures/lists of our options - apparently they don't have such 'lists' so had to trust him with what he was giving us.

When it came to pay, it was on a keypad thing - as I was not familiar with the set up, I asked about sections I did not understand and he skirted over sections I queried so I wouldn't ask too many questions. Even the part where it says it was charging me money - he just said it was money I had already paid for so I just need to sign it.
After a 8.5hr flight and it being around 2am my time I did. Not realising he had conned us by charging us for an upgrade we didn't actually get!!!

In their small print it states if your chosen car isn't available, and there isn't one in your chosen category, they will upgrade for free - so again, why was I charged!!

He also sold us extra insurance - a $6.95 one or $11 one. I asked 4 times for the $6.95 one yet he put the $11 per day insurance on my bill. I had to point this out and ask for it to be removed.

These people are shady and will take you for anything they can get - BEWARE!!!!

I pre-ordered a vehicle online using Budget website. The package was friends and family weekend road trip for the total of $123.00 dollars. Jesse Rogers and I went to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Terminal 1 location to receive the vehicle. The vehicle was under Rogers name. However, Rogers debit card wouldn't be accepted from Budget. The receptionist mentioned to place the vehicle in my name to fix the problem. I agreed to switch the vehicle into my name.

The discount code I used online from Budgets website was invalid according to the receptionist at Budget. I was confused based on the fact that it came from Budgets website as valid, because I was able to receive a conformation receipts in my email. The receptionist looked over the package and made some modifications. The receptionist that helped us was Mathew. Mathew claimed the package would add up to $182.00 dollars is total. Furthermore, Mathew said if I returned the vehicle a day earlier there would be credit for a day-use.

I returned the vehicle on May 26th, 2015. I received a receipts from a rental clerk. I saw a charge for underage driver of 25, plus taxes/fess. I remember this charge was never mentioned to me before leaving Budget. The actual plan was to have Rogers drive, because he is over the age of 25. Furthermore, sense I returned the car a day earlier I never received credit.

The issue becomes apparent when the price online becomes unfamiliar to the total price at the end. The total price was $123.00 online, after modifying the package the total came to be $182.00. Upon receiving the receipt the total cost was $305.00. This included underage driver fee, 5-day rental fee and plus/taxes fee's.

Receptionist: Mathew (Minneapolis/St. Paul Terminal One)

Mathew made a modification for five days 05/22/2015 - 5/27/2015 car rental for $182.00.
The original plan was to have Rogers be the driver. However, after Mathew made some modification to place the car into Papenfuss's name there wasn't mentioning of underage age fee's.

They rented me a car that needed wheels alignment. I returned it an hour later telling them about this problem. They kept me there for over an hour and kept investigating me and 2 people came to me after waiting asking me what was wrong with the car and I had too explain again. The customer service rep told me that there were no other cars and I either wait for another customer to return their car or to go try a different airport (I was in LGA and she told me to try JFK). I've been here for almost an hour and a half and I'm still waiting. Worst expedience ever.

Before making a reservation with budget car rental, I asked them if my international drivers license and debit card were acceptable. They said they were. I asked them if I needed any additional documentation. They said nothing else was necessary. I prepaid for the reservation. When I arrived at their office to pick up the car, they had numerous other requirements and refused to rent me the car. When I was at their office, they said they would issue me a refund. They did not and have now refused to refund the prepaid reservation that they refused to fulfill.

I Talk With An Employee Supervisor Who Would Only Identify Herself As "que"... She Is Very Rude And Tells Me

The Budget Location At Is A Hell Hole... It Looks Like A Used Car Hustle Shop And Junk Yard. They Answer By Avis Or Budget Or Whatever As They Hustle For Both Companies..

NEVER RENT FROM THESE FOLKS

OK here is the story. I rent a car in Miami for business. The battery is dead the next morning, I cannot get my suitcase out of the trunk . I call several times, they send someone to jump start.. It did not start. I had a business meeting, so I used a car that someone else had rented. Called them again .. different number.. they said OK we will pick up the car.. you will not be charged. I was not only charged for the rental.. they also charged my card for the ROAD SERVICE .. I am challenging the charges in my AM EX.. but who needs this crap!! ???

I've rented from Budget several times, have been a loyal customer and never had a problem until renting from New Orleans airport. I received a car that was obviously not cleaned before I picked it up (exterior was dusty, dirty tires.) I did the walk around (by myself) to check for any marks, damage and left after a 2 1/2 layover. Then receive a letter stating I'd be billed $75 for a stain in the interior of car; which I hadn't ate or drank anything in!!!! Left messages for Manager, and then actually spoke to one who was to call back after stating I'd be reimbursed and didn't call back .

I Have Been Renting From Budget For Over 20 Years And My Husband And I Are Loyal Customers. I Was Charged A Fee On My Card And When I Called In To Inquire About It, I Was Given The Run Around And They Did Not Allow Me To Speak To A Supervisor. I Tried Calling The Corporate Office And Was Hung Up On 3 Times! I Will Never Ever Rent From Budget/avis Again! I Am A Veteran As Well, I Served My Country And Went To War For It, And This Is The Treatment That I Get!!!! So Done With Budget/avis!!!

Budget Cabo San Lucas

Rented a Maxima online for $110 with fees for the week. I got there and they said that if I did not buy there insurance they would out a hold on my AMEX for $3,000. Then, they told me the insurance was $440 for a total of $550. What a scam for insurance. Then, when I got back I found that they out an illegal hold on my AMEX for $10,000.00. Boy am I pissed. Budget told they were Franchise Store and so they could not check on my rental.

Made reservations online with Budget at the Cabo San Lucas airport. My charges at that time was $165 for 10 days. Arrived in Cabo and my charges were totally different compared to the online quote. With no other options I rented the car for $856 which included $200 deposit and $49 refund on fuel if the car was returned full. Had to take the $350 insurance because my insurance did not cover me for Mexico. Two days later I looked at my rental contract and translated verbage of the charges from Spanish to English and found they charged me for 2x fuel charge at $99 and an office visit for $115. I was going to dispute the charges when we returned the car but the day before our departure, hurricane Odel pummeled the Cabo area, the aftermath left Cabo without electrical power, all stores were closed including gas stations, no cellular service and the San Jose Del Cabo airport was shutdown. I thought we would be stranded there for a couple of weeks but the Mexican military was able to get the airport open to evacuate all non-mexican citizens to other Mexican cities and some US destinations. We got out the third day after the hurricane, but prior to leaving I made every attempt to contact Budget but they had not opened so I was able to drop the car off at Budget before leaving. The car sustained some damage but not as bad as other cars. 1 month later Budget charged me $1140 which included damage to the car. I was furious! After 2 months of fighting Budget and disputing the charge with Bank of America. With all the photos and document I gave to Bank of America there final judgement favored Budget and gave them the full charges. I will never rent from Budget and I have closed my credit cards with Bank of America. My conclusion to this, never rent a car when the contract is in a foreign language; know what you getting into!

Beware a scam from Budget at the Panama Tucomen Airport. As advised by others we did a thorough check of the car, having the agent rep note every single scratch and ding over the whole body of the car. Upon return, having driven very carefully with no incident, the inspecting agent went directly to the plastic wheel cover on the front left tire (driver's side), and there pointed to a one-inch mark, calling it a scratch. They charged us $20 for that. At the counter we met a man for whom they had found two similar scratches, who paid $40. Another couple paid $45 for returning their car dirty. As far as we can tell, they just invent things to make you pay more. Stay away from these people.

We were heavy handed/coerced in to getting the Loss Damage Waiver by Jeff. We did not want this and even explained that we were covered but he kept insisting that we need this. He kept saying that if something happened we were responsible for the time out of service. Reluctantly we gave in so this pretty much doubled the amount we had intended to pay.
The next day I was reviewing our trip insurance and found that we were indeed covered for this and called the location to get it removed but was told I would have to come to the site to do this in person. We were by then 400 miles away.
I have called four times to try to resolve this but only get voice-mail and have not gotten a return call yet.
Needless to say I am very displeased with this location.
I hope that not all of the Budget locations are the same.
I need to know how to get this removed.

rented a car they made an error of listing my address. i got a red light violation was charge $100 and $100 for the late charge by the city of chicago, I did not received the notice from the city b/c budget send them the wrong address. due to budget error i was penalized $100. they wont help me by contacting the city of chicago of the mistake on there part. the city of chicago will waive the penalty only if budget will forward the correct address to them, been in contact with budget since november spoke with supervisor Ms. Taige. very rude and condescending. claimed it was not there responsibility to do that. the error was made by them, yet it was not there responsibility?

I rented a vehicle online... called to verify, checked and double checked... and when I got there to pick it up the credit card ( visa debit) was not good enough they wanted a " real Visa", but they had already debited the funds from my account using the visa debit card. Needless to say they got my money tied up and I have no vehicle. This could have been covered during booking. I do NOT recommend you use this corporate giant.
then she asked for my social security #... I have since found that they ran a background check without my permission

I was unfortunate enough to rent a car from budget renta car at las vegas airport and thier computer was "down that night it took about 40 minutes for them to hand write the contract even though i had prebooked thru southwest air lines. the contract had no prices and after a long discussion i declined several times and they asked for my insurance info and then i was told to initial by the x and sign the bottom my estimate from southwest was 230.000 for the week, I checked my card and it was preauthorized for 235.00 so i assumed all was well after turning in my car I noticed the printed receipt was for 455.00 and i looked back and my card still showed 235.00 but it was finalized at 455.00 i called back and had to leave a voice message for the customer service and a week later got no response I called back and was told by a supervisor that she would return my call in 2 days max after a wek i called back and asked for the on duty manager and was given a voicemail on which I left a detailed message and another week has gone by and no response!I feel as I have been scammed and no one was to face up to it so now I need to warn others so this can be avoided in the future.

Below is my email to Budget about a complaint I had and their response....In my opinion very unsatisfactory.

Me:
I made a reservation through Costco travel for an Intermediate SUV. The
description said Ford Escape 4DR/5PSGR or similar. I needed a 4 door
because I have 2 children in car seats and did not want to deal with a 2
door. I figured that because it said 4 door it would mean 4 door,
apparently I was mistaken. When I arrived at the Budget location to pick
up my car only a 2 door jeep was available. I explained my situation to
the associate and showed him my reservation but he refused to budge. He
said for $10 more I could get the standard SUV that was there (I could
have rented the standard SUV through Costco for $37.14). I said no, that
was not in my budget. I asked what else was available and he gave me a
van (too big for my needs and not the gas mileage I was hoping for).
My husband tried speaking with him and the associate started to get
quite sarcastic saying things like, I have an SUV with a split tire,
would you like that?. I have never experienced such bad customer
service from Budget before. It was very frustrating not getting the
product I had paid for and it was upsetting being spoken to in such a
rude and condescending way. I am hoping to rent again next week from
Oct 28-29 and would like to rent through you again. Is there anything
you can do to make this situation right? On a side note while we were
there another woman came in with a reservation for an Intermediate SUV
and also did not want the Jeep as she also needed a 4 door. The same
associate that was helping us gave her the car for only $5 more.

Thank you very much for letting Budget know about your disappointing
experience. On behalf of our entire Budget team, we apologize for the
issue you had with the vehicle that we assigned to you. We understand
that this occurred at the South Jordan on 22OCT14 and your reservation
number was 00133833US0.

We fell short of your expectations and let you down. A vehicle in your
reserved car class should have been ready when you arrived at our rental
location. Although we try to maintain adequate inventory levels at all
of our Budget locations, logistical challenges occasionally occur, and
this is what happened in your situation.

We are so sorry that you were inconvenienced and appreciate you bringing
this to our attention. Please be assured a copy of your report will be
sent to the appropriate management team.

Upon review of our records we do show the reserved intermediate SUV is
listed as a 4 door. Feel free to contact customer service while at the
counter should you have any issues upon arrival 28Oct14.

Budget takes great pride in providing dependable cars and attentive
service at a great price, with no surprises. Your feedback is extremely
important because it helps us maintain our high service levels. We
appreciate your business and hope you will give us another opportunity
to meet your rental needs in the future.

Budget renter cars lies cheat and steals your hard earn money they give you the run around never let you speak the corporate office. Reservations lie to you say your car is unlimited miles when you pay for your car you pay for miles. It's a lie.
